THIS. I’ve been pregnant. My daughter is 5 now. it was a common filipino name in the past, at least up to the 50s and 60s, before much of the names and pronunciations became anglicized. and now that majority of our names are in english, no one carries the name anymore. i think mexicans would nickname them "chuy", and filipinos "susing" or "jess". i am not sure why no taboo exists for "jesus" in the hispanic world but almost everyone else would tie themselves in knots at the idea. so far, i haven't encountered either in person, in print, or online, a french guy named "jesu" or an italian guy named "gesu". these are also catholic-majority countries. wish i had more info on what made spaniards more casual about religious naming, and whether other catholic nations use the name as well.

Then, the drama queen that I can be started fake crying and asked Karen "How am I gonna feed my KIDS?! I got 6 kids, how am I gonna feed them?! Then turned to the Manager and asked since I was shopping on my break, could I finish before leaving.
He was trying so hard not to laugh.
He gave me "permission" to finish, another wink from me and I was off to the beauty aisle.
This man saw my hubs and I in line to buy our stuff, and when it was our turn, ended up giving us 30%off AND a $20.00?gift card, as a thank you.

LOL. This is funny. When I met my husband he was driving a beater car (literally tape on the bumpers) and looked like a trainwreck. Unshaven, etc... I genuinely felt sorry for him, so I agreed to take his number. Plus he was fumbling for his words, which was funny as hell. So later that week I was like, why not? Might be kinda fun. And there was something about that goofy smile. Pulls up on our first date in a brand new sports car (This was mid 90's and I don't know shit about cars), after the date, he takes me to dinner etc and meets my parents, who of course were sizing him up and my dad's trying to make sure he's not a bum etc right? I'm literally in the back room telling my dad to be nice because being poor isn't a big deal. He's not a bum. Like I knew he had a job, because he was literally a hot mess the day I met him. My dad is ALL about work ethic. He's blue collar and never missed a day of work in his life. Electrician. Same with my mother. She has her masters and has zero tolerance for lazy people. And again, at this point I'm thinking, how sweet of him to borrow a car for the date, but I genuinely don't give a crap about cars. That's why I can't tell u anything about the car outside of he called it a GT maybe?. So anyway, the next date we go to his house. I figured he was renting the place, I mean he was 24 at the time. And he never said otherwise and I didn't ask. Well maybe a week into our dating, I found out it was HIS house. At 24 years old, he owned outright his first house. He'd paid in full, cash. Turns out he's saved every penny from every job he'd had, starting at age 14. He also owned the car outright. We just celebrated our 22 wedding anniversary, and we've been together 26 years. We built this house maybe 18 years ago. We work together to keep life simple. The mortgage has never been late, the lights have never went out and through-out everything, I sometimes look back and laugh at that first meeting. I'm glad I didn't judge the book by the cover. Throw out your dumb lists. Stop looking for the perfect height, the perfect muscle build, the perfect car....look for how he looks at you! Everything else is secondary. (My kids still get a kick out of the story of mom meeting a bum at the gas station. We met because we were both filling up. LOL) And guys, I have two sons (23, 18) and two girls. Keep this in mind, not all women are going to judge you at face value and give you a list of standards, but if they do....run. Life is meant to be discovered, not designed. Find someone who can roll with it.

My mother , my aunt and first cousin whenever they went to a restaurant with me wouldn't order much saying they weren't hungry (like ordering the equivalent of 3 burgers and fries ) and i used to order the equivalent of a steak with assorted sides . However , when my order used to come immediately they would swap so I would be left half hungry every time . This went for some time till one day I couldn't take it no more . This time in an restaurant I waited till we had all placed their orders and afterwards I went to the waiter and told him to cancel my relatives orders and bring two of my orders . And I told him to bring one order first . The moment the order came in my relatives as usual wanted to have it . I generously gave in and after they dug in the meal within a short while the same dishes came and i happily dug in . The look on my relatives faces still gives me a warm glow . You nailed it! We deal with a lot of different experiences in life, and if you haven't had some crisis and hardship, then you haven't lived! Sometimes, two people meet who can bring those experiences and knowledge together and help each other.
I don't date, because I feel my situation is too much to ask anyone to understand, but I've considered how many people are losing their homes now due to hard times, through no fault of their own. If I met a kind man living in an RV who has some handyman skills, and would love to live in a beautiful, remote wilderness area that can be very challenging at times, we could have a great adventure!
Two nights ago, I watched the full "super" moon rise over the mountain peak, and it was magical. The stars at night are breathtaking on moonless nights. I finally got to see why it's called the "Milky Way", and I can see shooting stars almost every night. The only sounds are night creatures. It would be great to share that with another who has a spiritual connection to nature too.
I feel overwhelmed because I'm trying to do it all on my own. So far, the few guys who seemed interested lost interest real quickly when they found out I'm not exaggerating about living off-grid. However, I'm sure there's someone who would dig this place, especially if they are into dirt bikes or horses and know something about repairing and maintaining solar equipment.

When I visited the states we went to 1 restaurant that: served my dad the wrong meal (he didn't complain, he ate it NBD), and proceeded to charge us for an entirely different meal that was not what he ordered or got (was more expensive than both), charged us for an entree no one ordered (we didn't do entree), put two of my cousin's meal on (my cousin was the only one to order the meal), and then pre-selected the tip for us (it was a LOT - like 50% of the bill). We each went through it one by one (there were around 10 of us - we booked this place before we had even gotten into the country), making sure no one ordered the stuff listed, and then spoke to them about it. So he makes sure that everything that is on there is what we ordered and is the advertised price, Then he figures out the tip. Half the time he'll ask me to double-check, because sometimes what the dish name is that prints on the bill is a shortened version of what it shows on the menu. Some places write everything down on a paper order pad, and don't key it into the computer until you are ready for the bill. It's easy to hit the wrong thing if you are on auto mode during your shift.

It’s completely amazing to me how ignorant this person was. I think she was just trying to find a reason to be racist, because unfortunately some people just are that way and they have ugly hearts. I’ve come across COUNTLESS people named Jesus, Christian and non-Christian, and I think it’s actually a really cool name. The fact that she didn’t even listen to the explanation, apologize, and move on just shows me that she probably knew she did something wrong but didn’t care and wanted to find an excuse be insulting and racist towards somebody. The people who would get really upset about not being able to order larger sizes wouldn’t even end up touching their fries. But would the volume of excess fries going through also set our order times way, way back? Why, yes. Yes it did.
