Both dives (Gordon + Miggy) was a desperate attempt for 3 points. I wouldn't call Brighton cheaters, that's just frustration. Brighton weren't going to bend over and give Newcastle chances. Most teams that came to St. James's Park this season come and park the bus and/or waste time out of respect for Newcastle. Newcastle weren't good enough. End of.
I'm a Newcastle fan that lives in Brighton and watched with Brighton fans. I think we looked slow, we couldn't manage Enciso, and tactics wise Im not sure what Howe was thinking taking Isak off. Putting Gordon central neutralised him and killed the attack. Wilson I love, but how is he off with a hamstring problem again after one game!?!

I'm starting to get concerned we bottle it when it comes to the crucial games, the cup final last season, relegated Leicester at home last season, AC Milan at home, Chelsea in the Semi final of the cup and now this against a team that isn't in form and is injured ravaged. Its not good enough!

I feel like this season has been an interesting one - it’s been like shaking the pot and seeing which players rise to the top and which sink to the bottom- like a sorting process for who stays and who goes.
Anderson, dubravka, Miley, murphy have all proved their worth stepping in to cover
Lascelles earlier this season too though he’s out now.
Almiron, longstaff have been lacking at times, Wilson far too fragile though I think he is a great finisher. All probably need to go.

I'm a newcastle fan, and Miggy dived, there wasn't even a brush of skin. He wanted the contact as there was a lack of support in the box but the brighton player stopped short and Miggy threw himself to the floor. Isak looked like he wasn't interested most of the game, and the shooting was half hearted at best, there was no imagination up front. I have said though since February, I'd love european football but FFP in january no signings, and our squad is too small so yeah european football 2 seasons in a row, would be a dream come true but it wouldn't hurt for us to miss out either, we can't go another season with the injury crisis we had where half of the season was played with barely 11 players and a sub bench full of keepers, so whatever happens would be a good outcome unless we are going to be able to sell wilson the walking doctors note, longstaff who has 2 good games a year, and bring in 6-7 players for defence and up front. Our midfield is solid but our defence is in shambles when 2 are injured and we have isak and if barnes is fit, gordon up front.

I thought Brighton played compact in defence and had a good counter attack and quick transition. Difficult to be too hard on the lads, they tried, but a stubborn Brighton couldn't be unlocked. Remember we are still under strength! Conference league could be our first trophy in decades, either way, proud to be a Geordie and think Eddie is doing a great job. Booing at the final whistle was harsh from supporters with a very short memory. The process continues, we'll strengthen again in the summer and go harder next season, enjoy the ride!

I have no problem with the draw but we obviously missed the chances. Btw it was tricky match today and hard to say much since Brighton will play both Chelsea and MU at home next. We just need to learn the lesson, focus on our games and see what happen next. We are still in a good position and no need to spread the negativity.

This match is a perfect representation of our season. Too many games we looked off the boil. The team just lacks urgency and sense of occasion. Many of the players do not want to take responsibility but look for Bruno or Gordon to do everything. I agree with you, Wilson is finished. There is no point in defending him, man can't stay fit if his life depended on it. Just get rid! Same with the other deadwood: Miggy, Murphy, Longstaff, Krafth, and so on.
The great Eddie Howe wants to keep him though.

They were dives to be fair. I thought Brighton got their tactics right. They flooded the middle of the park and basically shut out Isak and Bruno. Gordon was brilliant again but Murphy was average and we couldn't take our chances. I thought we lost it by not being very clinical. Wasteful in attack.

The ref got every big decision right and the linesman didn’t make a mistake. Yes the ref was picky but just because we wanted to play quick etc doesn’t mean it’s right. We were the worst team in the league for time wasting and slowing the game down last year and we all stuck up for our players. Normally like you videos Matty but ye talking rubbish here.
