    Well done Tom for tackling a big task. BMW always makes things so complicated for anyone, even the simplest of things like changing the headlight bulbs 😂

      After your advice going for engine mount 1st

    • @330dfam

      @MrRichiem3 I’d take that bolt out first, no matter what, there are two ways of removing the dpf, both require an engine support, the way I did it remove the mount, or drop the subframe for access, if your on the drive I’d say remove the mount, I used 1/4 drive sockets for that bolt and bolt came out easy ish, but dot a lot of head scratching first remove the 16mm bolt from the mount then tackle the engine mount /bracket, it’s not a 5 min job but is doable, the other 3 bolts were relatively easy, if access is poor just raise the engine on the support for a bit more space, hope that makes sense 😎👍🏻

    Well done mate. Gives an excellent idea of what to expect when taking this job on. What’s the consensus of blocking the EGR valve off with blanking plate and leaving all in situ? Any benefit of that do you think. I’ve got a low mileage 30d and can not decide what to do for the best. Great video as always. ✌🏻👍🏻🇬🇧

      Thanks mate, As long as it’s blanked at the manifold, I can’t see there being an issue, u would still need to get mapped out, and remove vacuumed line, etc, the only benefit I would see about doing it that way is for the std engine look on mot, to be faire u can’t see the inlet with the engine cover on so u could still swap out the inlet part for better flow, and leave the cooler in for show🤷🏼‍♂️😎👍🏻

    Hi mate great video
    Just a question please. I'm thinking to just gut my Dpf and refit and install the Seniors back so do you think I will still need a re map or will the Ecu think everything is ok
    Cheers pal

    • @330dfam
      @330dfam  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi mate, if you gut your dpf and refit you will need a remap as pressure readings will obviously be different, reduced back pressures etc 😎👍🏻

    How much more do the emissions smell now? Doing the down pipe and egr blank soon, cheers

      Hi mate on first start up in winter, there is a bit more of a smell, but the glow plug module needs changing🤷🏼‍♂️, hotter days you wouldn’t know the difference 😎👍🏻

    And how you will pass MOT??

    • @Tom-dz7of
      @Tom-dz7of Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hi quite easily I imagine, the wifes dpf has been gutted and stage 1 map, flown through the last 3 mots not even a mention

  • @samanthawoodward7551
    @samanthawoodward7551 Před 10 měsíci +3

    How does it pass an MOT?

    • @Tom-dz7of
      @Tom-dz7of Před 10 měsíci +2

      To be honest, with the covers back on you have to look to see the dpf, the engine cover pretty much covers the egr, I’m confident the engine is healthy and will pass emissions. The misses car has had the std dpf gutted and mapped out with a STG 1 map and that’s flown through 3-4 mots so pretty confident. If your worried but want to do the mods, just gut the dpf and refit, you can blank the egr and keep it on so it looks like it’s working, then you should have a problem, hope that helps 😎👍🏻

    I like ur videos but i don’t understand why all of you guys are removing the engine mount. i have 2007 e92 330d M57 and i’ve sucesfully removed it without any problems. just make sure you remove all the sensors before…

    • @330dfam
      @330dfam  Před měsícem

      Hi mate, I had a quick go with the mount in place, the dpf was fouling on the bulkhead and didn’t look like it would slide past at all, spoke to my mate who’s done loads of them and his advice was to just remove the mount as I had an engine brace, if you got yours out you must be good at puzzles 🧩 😂💪🏼😎
