Aww!! Thank you John for climbing 6 floors for all of your wonderful subscribers who love and worry about you!
I thank you, I check in every day!
Please be safe out there 😊❤
YOU ARE MOST WELCOME AND LET ME TELL YOU I CLIMB 6 FLOORS TO ALMOST ALL THE BIG FIRES.....IT IS VERY TRYING.....HEHEHE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
So many thoughts in my alleged mind! My heart went out to three members: the lone guy with the line fighting the demon with a small stream, the man in the tower ladder facing down the enemy, and dear Joe who was not having the easiest time of his life!! Kudos to all!! I have a suspicious mind as I thought that inferno was far too vicious to be an “act of God”. Bless you for all you do to bring us the best of any coverage!! You don’t have to go to the gym this week…you gave at the “office”! ❤️🔥🚒❤️🔥
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOUR ENTIRE COMMENT.....THE FIRE WAS A BIT SUSPICIOUS INDEED.....I WILL DEFINATELY SKIP THE GYM.....HEHEHE.....THANKS SO MUCH WINIFRED.....
"To:Mr.Majestirium,I wonder if 'Fire'men have an 'Air Filter Cleaner'humidifier at their 'Fire'Station!?"Just an healthy and safety issue suggestion". . .4--21--2023'
God bless
Those tower ladders are one of the most important advances in fire-fighting technology.
Versatile, powerful, and highly effective. Besides the many tower ladders in wide use at FDNY, I think the department also has some of the new European-style articulated tower
ladders, allowing even greater flexibility in tight quarters. But at the end of the day, its about the men and women of the department, the exhaustive training they get, the discipline they
exhibit, and their unit cohesion and bravery. Great video here John, of a stubborn fire fought in tight quarters.
Every fire, large or small, is fought like
a military engagement. Fire is the main enemy, but there are also extreme weather, overhead power lines, buried gas lines, hazardous materials, tremendous heat and exhaustion, structural collapse, and always the risk of injury or worse.
Great job as usual, John. More of old New York going up in flames. I often wish I could go back in a time machine and visit the city in the 20s through the 40s. From photos I've seen it must have been amazing.
I WISH I COULD TOO DAVID.....I LOVE MY OLD NEW YORK CITY MORE THAN WHAT IS GOING UP AND ON HERE NOW.....AS FOR THE FIRE IT WAS SPECTACULAR INDEED.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
I think that the two houses were there before the two larger buildings. Could there be something wanting to go into the space of the two houses?? Maybe now there will be a high rise going in the space. And always great coverage.
👍
YES, I KNOW THEY WERE BUT WAS MERELY SAYING HOW CLOSE THEY BUILT THE 2 BUILDINGS THERE.....ANYWAY, THANKS SO MUCH.....
THANKS SO MUCH.....
This is not meant to be a negative comment...more a plus to dedicated full time firefighters. I am part of a fire brigade, 20 members. We have a large territory to cover, 25 miles by 25 miles. We have a major highway through our territory. We can get anywhere from 15 to 40 calls per year. We also do water rescue for an adjacent river way which is about 30 miles long. When we arrive on a scene, whether it is 2 minutes to 15 hours, we are there for the duration, manning hoses, SCBA's, running pumpers, hauling water, however the incident requires. I have fought fires in -24 C temperatures where our pumper trucks have frozen up. We love the challenges.
I’m a former Captain (SFFD) and I’m astounded at the Divisions, Battalions and Company’s disorganization.
It takes far too long to supply water to the seat of the fire and the “platforms” are never operational in time to protect exposures. Far too many pieces standing by idle. Constructive considerations. The FDNY seem to still be snake-bit from the WTC collapse 22 years ago.
Developers happy day. Great coverage.
I THINK SO TOO ANTHONY.....TERRIBLE INDEED CAUSE IF THEY LIT IT THEY PUT MANY LIVES IN DANGER.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 We call it “Jewish Lightning.” Self explanatory. 😮
Great coverage & great work by FDNY getting it done. This was a tricky one with the wires in the way. Places went up like matchboxes, somebody wanted them gone😳
YES, IT WAS VERY TRICKY AND SUSPICIOUS INDEED.....IT WAS MOVING VERY FAST TOO.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Thank you John, for another powerful video!
We all appreciate what you do for us, and we appreciate it, I know I do!
Please stay safe, and get some rest!!❤
YOU ARE MOST WELCOMED AND APPRECIATE YOU ALL VERY, VERY, VERY MUCH.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Thank you for climbing all the stairs for us. I am an old woman and can't climb stairs. I enjoy these videos but they are scary to me for all the members.
Fantastic video, JJ. Thanks for climbing the 6 flights to provide the overview. I agree that the timing and circumstances of this fire are suspicious--that casts no blame on any specific person. Thanks for all you do and thanks to the members of the FDNY--the best firefighters in the world!
YOU ARE MOST WELCOMED AND YES THIS WAS A VERY SUSPICIOUS FIRE INDEEDD BOB.....THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS ALWAYS.....
I'm sorry but this is really poor
Early in the morning....car conveniently parked to block nearest hydrant...2 vacant houses...sandwiched between 2 newer multi-use ( more rent) structures...I'm a firm believer in coincidence!!! Clear sky...probably developers lightning!!!! As we used to say, thats urban renewal...let's remember that sometimes firefighters die because of that shit!! God bless the men and women of the fdny. And, thanks again jj
I TOTALLY AGREE JAMES.....VERY SUSPICIOUS FIRE INDEED.....I WILL SEE A NEW BUILDING THERE SOON I GUESS.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Lots of firebrand from those old wooden structures...tough to contain but the guys (and gals) did their usual outstanding job. Thanks for another incredible video John, stay safe out there.
YES, I AGREE JAY.....THEY DID A GREAT JOB WITH ALL THAT WAS GOING ON THERE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Wow another multiple. The City is certainly keeping you busy. Thanks for the great videos.
YES, IT HAS BEEN VERY HECTIC INDEED.....BUT I WILL NOT LIE.....I LOVE GOING TO THEM RICH.....HEHEHE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Thanks again for your dedication to bringing us excellent coverage on these events; I think you got a couple of weeks' workout, between this fire/stair-climb, and the brush fire from yesterday. Kudos to FDNY, as always, keeping it out of the exposures as best as possible!
YES, I GOT LOTS OF WORKOUT INDEED CRAIG.....HEHEHE.....AND YES THE FDNY DID A GREAT JOB PROTECTING THOSE EXPOSURES.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Excellent coverage of this one for your viewers. FYI for you and your viewers to understand firefighting communications. When you were on the rear building roof, you were wondering what side that handline was at. The front of the fire building is always side 1 (unless deemed different by incident command). Going to the left around the building is side 2. The rear is side 3, and the right side is side 4. Exposures are noted by the numbered side of the fire building they are next to. In your case here the exposure is on the 4 side of the fire building as seen from the street. You were looking from the back so the right side of the building was to your left and that’s where you saw the line.when working fires and taking orders from command I would always have to think of the orientation of my self to Side 1 to follow orders. Also you can see hydrant orientation in the city. The steamer cap is always in most cases at an angle to the street that allows hose to be passed around obstructions with less kinking. Other cities really need to follow NYC line of thought on this.
WELL, THAT IS VERY HELPFUL AND FANTASTIC INFORMATION INDEED THOMAS.....I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO READING ALL THE GREAT COMMENTS AND YOU ALWAYS PROVIDE SOME OF THE BEST ALWAYS.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Outside the NYC metro area, many fire departments designate sides as A, B, C, and D instead of 1, 2, 3, and 4. Same meaning, just slightly different terminology.
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1Very gracious reply John. You are a class act.
I haven't said it in a while, so.....
Thank you for all you do to show us the action from the city that never sleeps (like you 😅)
Thanks again and God bless
WELL, THAT MEANS A LOT FOR ME TO HEAR BOB AND THANK YOU SO MUCH AND GOD BLESS ALWAYS.....

Thank you John for the video. This fire was truly an inferno. The FDNY are absolutely amazing. I am always in awe of what they can accomplish. Very well coordinated. Blessings to all First Responders. Praying for their safety. Blessings to you John for your dedication. Stay safe. 😁
YOU ARE VERY WELCOME AND YES THE FDNY IN MY OPINION IS THE BEST OF THE BEST AND ALWAYS DO A GREAT JOB SAVING PROPERTY AND LIVES.....THANKS SO MUCH CAROLE.....
@@bshay1993 when JJ got there they were just starting to transition from offensive to defensive operations. Many departments wouldn’t even try interior operations when a building has been vacant. The FDNY always attempts interior attacking if possible. Did you see how narrow the street was? The problem with overhead wires? These are big problem for positioning apparatus.
@@bshay1993 Solid comments. I've watched a lot of these videos and noticed you don't see anyone working with a sense of urgency, they move like they are a casual stroll. A very different approach than I am used to. The amount of resources they have is amazing.
@@bshay1993 Firstly the firefighters cannot act without water, they cannot run in and spit at the fire. Did you notice how long the hoses were? About 3 to 4 blocks and more. It is not FDNY's fault there is not more accessible hydrants available. And umm do you know how to read a 24 hour clock? You said that at 5:30 water was called for and didn't start until 16:40??? Are you indicating it was called at 5:30am and not received until 2:40PM? 9 HOURS later? Something is wrong with this math. They had problems with the power lines, and the tower ladder. I wouldn't want to get wet while standing in a metal bucket. There are several "cheifs" that communicate and come to a joint decisions that is best for all concerned. I would rather see firefighters enter a building calmly rather frantically running around. Some are designated an in door and some outdoor fighters. Some are replacements for people already fighting. Groups are alternated as relief. So the ones fighting don't drop over exhausted. They carry 45 to 80 pounds depending on what extra items they carry. A standard house fire can be up to 1500 degrees. Even with oxygen these fighter need relief more often than we think. In less than 30 seconds can go from a small can change into a major fire. The age of the wood used to build a house matters. Thes houses are 80 to 90 years old. Some even older. Owners slap siding on to make them pretty. And they burn like a book of matches. Listen, research and watch what is going on. Don't be an arm chair quarterback.
@@bshay1993 good point if there was no video time editing. Brad, I looked at it again and JJ stopped and repeated 44’s setup!
Thanks for posting this I like the big fires 🔥 and lots of alarms 🚨fire
Thank You, Your always doing a Great Job

THANKS SO MUCH GABOR.....
Bro, you do some amazing work. Been watching your videos for a while. I was born and raised in da Bronx. (Kingsbridge and Heath Ave ). Watching these videos of the Bronx I know all these places, its crazy that 25 -30 years later I'm watching so many burn up. especially the fire on 231st and B-way, that really hit home. Keep up the great work B...
Wow nice big one! Very nice! Cheers
THANKS SO MUCH.....CHEERS.....
Looks like a good job. Thanks John be safe!
Da Bronx is burning! Nice job, JJ! As always
YES IT IS STEVE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
First of all great coverage as always John. This was a vicious fire. We your faithful subscribers owe you all the kudos in the world because without you, we would have no idea about half these fires. Now on to the fires themselves, if it had only been 1 of the vacant buildings it wouldn't have surprised me if it had been electrical or possibly accidental but with both structures going up I find it rather suspicious in nature. I'm sure the FDNY investigators will go through thoroughly to determine if this fire was arson. Anyway as always thank you John for all that you do and most importantly be careful and stay safe out there.
WELL, MICHAEL FIRST THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS.....2ND I AGREE WITH YOU.....THIS FIRE WAS VERY SUSPICIOUS INDEED.....THERE WAS NO ELECTRICITY AS THE BUILDINGS WERE VACANT.....THE MARSHALLS WERE THERE BEFORE I LEFT SO THEY ARE LOOKING INTO IT.....ONCW AGAIN THANK YOU VERY MUCH.....
That was some fire, John! Looks like it did char or scorch the D exposure. I sure wouldn't want to have been on that crew but FDNY did an awesome job to keep it from spreading. Always good to see and hear Chief Esposito, too.
Excellent video again. I know I can count on you to depict what's going on and how the work is progressing.
Stay safe out there, my friend.
WELL MOST KID OF YOU PAM.....IT WAS A WILD ONE FOR SURE AND THE FDNY THE BEST JOB ESPECIALLY SAVING THE EXPOSURES ALL AROUND.....ALSO, ESPOSITO IS A GREAT MAN INDEED.....THANKS SO MUCH.....

YES IT WAS INFERNO AND YES IT WAS BUSY.....I AM TIRED TODAY.....HEHEHE.....NO INJURIES THAT I KNOW OF AND THANKS SO MUCH.....
Nice Job !! Many geetings from Germany
THANKS SO MUCH.....
Thanks John for another great video. You know I watch several these over the years and I really find it interesting how long on a fire this size it takes them to start putting water on it. I served as a volunteer for 35 years in a royal fire department with no fire hydrants we had tank trucks and porta tanks and pulling in to some fairly large farm houses at barn fires that were fully involved like this we would be putting water on the fire within two minutes. I don’t understand the amount of time they let leave these fires Freeburn I’m not criticizing. I’m sure there’s a method to the madness. Maybe it has something to do with the redevelopment authority. Don’t have to pay as much to tear down and hauled away but in the city that size you would think you’d be throwing everything out within the first two minutes to keep it from spreading I don’t know. I can’t figure it out. They have all the manpower trucks and endless amounts of water.
It continues to boggle the mind about how the fire continues, when it seems that there isn't anything left to burn. Good Job!
I TOTALLY AGREE! THIS WAS A STUBBORN ONE LINDA.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
That was award winning coverage!!!! Best video ever!
THANKS SO MUCH ROSE FOR THE KIND WORDS AND SUPPORT.....

Station 17 was less than 400 feet up the road! That's convenient! Intense fire...I can only imagine the dry wood that frames these houses after all these years. And watching those exposures was nerve-racking!!! And the wires are a pain in the ass at so many of these tight fires. As always...excellent coverage!
I AGREE WITH YOUR ENTIRE COMMENT AND OF COURSE THANKS SO VERY MUCH.....
John, another great job covering a good fire. Like many here, I am thinking arson on these buildings. Someone clearly wants to put a new something on those lots. Thanks for climbing the stairs. Awesome shots from the
# 3 (Charlie) side as we call it here. Stay safe, great footage !
both of these buildings were constructed in 1901. thanks for your content john.
INTERESTING TOM AND THANKS SO MUCH.....
Holy Crow! What a mess that one was. Great job JJ and to the FDNY and all involved in getting this one under control. My guess, those will both be knocked down and removed for good which would be a very wise step.

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU ROBERT.....
Good shots. You try to get the best shots from every which way.👍👍💎
YES, I TRY HARD TOO GRACE.....THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS.....
Amazing access footage as usual John! I’m pretty certain the houses predate the two flanking buildings. I’m sure there were houses originally where the buildings are now. The code to build new construction that damn close to old buildings is amazing but every inch of space is big money downtown. Developers don’t seem to realize that building their brand new multi million dollar property that close to an old building and that they wouldn’t have damage from a conflagration like this. It’s idiocy and their own damn fault!
YES, I KNOW THE HOUSES WERE THERE.....WHAT I MEANT WAS HOW CLOSE THEY PUT THE OTHER 2 BUILDINGS TO THEM LIKE YOU SAY.....ANYWAY, I AGREE WITH THE REST OF YOUR COMMENT AS WELL.....THANKS SO MUCH MARK.....
Those 2 houses really looked out of place. There will soon be a new high rise in their location.
great video JJ

doing a good job at coverage, bro.pritty touchy fire scene.
