Happy Easter to you and your family JJ. Great job as always. Can’t see Dep Chief Pfeifer with out thinking of his brother and all the brothers and sisters lost on 9/11. Heroes one and all.🇺🇸🚒🐄
and when you see officers with that calibre of experience and bravery, you know the situations going to be taken care of very effectively, and yep even from across the pond in the uk- same thoughts.
A fire in any structure is devastating in its own, but when that structure is a church, that takes things up a notch. Amazing coverage as usual John. The FDNY may as well go ahead and give you your own fire coat and make you their official cameraman. Great job by the members of getting to the church quickly and getting this fire fought.
Prayers for the church and it's Congregation 🙏. Thanks JJ for a great video, nice roof angle..stay safe..great job 👍 FDNY..God bless
Not having many big fires to cover is a good thing!

great video as always... Your video fan from Cleveland Ohio
THANKS SO MUCH.....
Great coverage JJ. Love the photos at the end😊
As usual, your videos show more perspective of the fire ground and tactics (who else does 360's plus views from above the fire), more FF action and reflection of personalities, a more complete narrative. They're incomparable! Thanks so much for what you do!
So sad on Easter. Thankfully no serious injuries. I like the group photos. Great video JJ.
Awesome coverage John. This seems to be a tough one for FDNY on Easter Sunday sadly. Hope no injuries at the end of this...🤗🤗

Magnificent video JJ. Even though you arrived late you got a lot of action. I hope all the injured recover quickly.
Great coverage.
When you concentrate on covering disasters, sign of inactivity signals fewer disasters and should be welcomed by all.
Excellent vid, as always, John! I was wondering if Chief Esposito was there and just as I thought that, he shows up and shakes your hand. That shows friendship and respect and you've earned that with all your great work. Nice shot there at the end with you and the chiefs, then Skyler and the chiefs.
I enjoy your videos; you do a great job with different angles (including roof where I would NEVER go. lol). Take care of yourself and stay safe out there, my friend.

WAS AT THE FIRE MOST OF THE DAY BOB.....SO MY EASTER WAS OK BUT HAPPY EASTER AND OF COURSE THANKS SO MUCH.....
Wow john, this video was fantastic. You always do such a great job with angles..wishing those with injuries make a speedy recovery. Take care. 🇬🇧 edit:- Fantastic job by FDNY, EMS NYPD and all of the others supporting each other in this mammoth fire.
Great job as always. I'm glad you sound much better i was concerned for ya. That was so much asbestos.
YES INDEED AND THANKS SO MUCH JAMES.....
They rotate crews way too much, my city does not do that. They ( FDNY ) always let the fire get an advantage over them with stopping the water as soon as they get a handle on it. I see it over and over again. The fire is roaring again and have tons of guys standing around. God bless them. That’s my opinion.
I was wondering the same thing. Leave the rigs where they are and switch out firefighters. They lost so much time and advantage.
as always you do a great job you always explain whats going on any you been doing this a long time so you know whats going on and walk thru step buy step what and why happen as a retired firemen up sate keep up the good you do
Great video jj happy Easter 🐰 🐣
GLAD YOU LIKED IT AND OF COURSE THANKS SO MUCH NAYAN.....

Happy Easter, JJ! Your coverage of this fire was exceptional as always! Glad that the incidents have slowed down. But, this certainly made up for it! We missed you. But, not the risks and destruction! Watch out for any sneaky Nor’easters!! ❤️🔥🚒❤️🔥
Great video John! Great views and angles. I was hoping to see Chief Moore on scene and about 10 minutes later there he was, seems to be everywhere. Stay safe John. 🚒🇺🇸

@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 No worries mate 👍🏻
Excellent video JJ You would make a great chief --- Debbie
JJ and Skyler, hope your both well. mate FDNY should just put some resources with you guys because when you bounce around you find some amazing vantage points, and tactically where you guys get too often a good hose line would be very effective :P stay safe brothers and carry on doing what your doing.
I TOTALLY HEAR YA AND UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT.....I AGREE....HEHEHE.....THANKS SO MUCH MARK.....
hey Brother John...who was that rock star with all the chiefs in a still pic near the video's end...was that the chauffer of Sq99...well done bro..plz be careful

Thanks JJ for your coverage. Such a shame.
YES, SAD INDEED, YOUR WELCOME AND THANKS SO MUCH PAT.....
Reading the news about this fire and all injuries were minor and it happened in the middle of Mass! Thankfully the heroes of the FDNY saved the main Church. The craziest thing was a mayday was called for one of the firefighters falling through the floor. He got out but when he heard the Mayday he didn’t know if was for himself and he wanted to rush back in…crazy! The FDNY truly are heroes! God bless all of them!
From the article:
Fr. Marin says when smoke began wafting into the service, nearly 200 parishioners evacuated safely while he went to try to put it out with a fire extinguisher - but the flames were starting to eat through the second floor, which was crumbling.
"And the floor collapsed," Fr. Marin said.
He tells Eyewitness News that is when he knew he needed to get out. Firefighters were there quickly and were having their own trouble with the collapsing second floor. One firefighter fell through a hole, prompting others to issue a mayday call, fearing he was hurt.
"He didn't realize that the mayday was for him, so he bounced up off the floor, came in and wanted to run back up the stairs to address the mayday issue. But not realizing that the mayday was himself, he was unhurt, thank God, and he was able to continue to fight the fire," said FDNY Assistant Chief Michael Myers.
Wow!!! What and Honor to get a picture with Chief Pfeifer!!
IT WAS INDEED.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 Not many left realize just who he is! Good for you!
Hope you had a good Easter. We all love you stay well.
I was listening to the radio traffic here in Indiana.
OK AND OF COURSE THANKS SO MUCH.....
Why does it look like they brought up three charged lines? The weight of the water in the lines makes it hard then heck to bring them up
YEAH, THERE MUST BE A REASON.....I WILL ASK AROUND.....THANKS SO MUCH MARK.....
That's a BIG Rectory!
I'm guessing it was more than just a rectory. Probably had other uses too, the signage seems to possibly suggest it. Big loss.
YES IT WAS A HUGE RECTORY BUT I HEARD IN THE NEWS THEY USED THAT BUILDING FOR OTHER THINGS LIKE SUNDAY SCHOOL AND OTHER CHURCH EVENTS.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Oh! This is Very very Sad ! :( Speedy recovery to the injuries!
IT WAS VERY SAD INDEED ESPECIALLY ON EASTER SUNDAY.....;o( THANKS SO MUCH.....
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 I agree! Happy Easter John and FDNY!
JJ you are only human, and what you cover is first rate some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. Be Safe
WELL, THAT MEANS A LOT FOR MR TO HEAR AND OF COURSE THANKS SO VERY MUCH ROBIN.....
For those who don’t know, a rectory is the home of the religious people who run the church. In a non Catholic Church it’s the home of the minister and his or her family. In a Catholic Church, it’s the home of the priests and any monks or nuns associated with the church. Each of the windows on the upper floor could have been a home of a priest, etc. As this rectory was very large, I suspect it was also a community meeting space and perhaps an outreach for the homeless.
to my understanding the reason the exterior attacks stopped and paused was becuase 1, crew rotations, and 2, there were crews inside the structure including one of the chief's, you can't be pouring all that water plus a high pressured tower cannon on the roof wile people are inside, from the roof, you can't see what is going on on the other side of the building., also don't just watch the video LISTEN to his radio, you can HEAR what the chiefs are saying, and 3. to see WHERE the fire is currently seated, as well as to see weather or not the fire is being gas fed by a natural gas line which is often the cause of the stubbornness of many fires and reoccurring flareups
GREAT COVERAGE! Stop apologizing. Furthermore, we know darn well you can be two places at once, it's how you get all the best footage. Terrible loss, especially on Easter Sunday. God bless the clergy and congregation at that church, and the community they serve.
WELL, THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME AND I AGREE FOR GOD BLESS THEM ALL....IT WAS DEVASTATING FIRE INDEED.....;o( THANKS SO MUCH.....
I loved seeing that thin blue line flag flying on the back of TL 163
IT IS NICE FOR THEM TO ALL SUPPORT EACH OTHER.....THANKS SO MUCH RANDY.....
Your move to the roof was a good one. It gave us a perfect view of where the action was. Unfortunately, none of the crews on the roof near the fire building had a good angle because of the angled roof that slanted the roof away from them and under that roof was where massive amounts of fire was burning. Only the tower ladders including 163 from Woodside, Queens could find appropriate angles to hit the fire directly......Well done, JJ.
