Drill Press Table Build

- I made this drill press table so I can use it for woodworking projects and take it off quickly and use the cast iron table for metal working parts. The T track on the drill press table and fence makes it easy to use a stop block for repeated holes and add hold down clamps to keep my work piece in place. This was a fun easy shop project and it should keep my woodworking parts from getting contaminated with cutting oil and metal pieces!
At 6:52 I say that i am drilling 1/4 20 holes and meant to say I am drilling holes for 1/4 20 bolts! oops!
Here is the T track I used (Affiliate)

Thanks for this. I always look forward to your how-to's. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you!
This is the first table I’ve seen with the cast iron guides on it. I really like that idea.
Very cool, I love how much detail you gave. This has now been added to my to-do list.
Thanks!
This is simple and cool especially the Fence part Thanks for the project.
Great stuff! Thanks for the video. I appreciate how much detail you give and reasons for doing things a certain way. It helps out a great deal even beyond this build. Definitely gonna try this out!
Thank you!
First time watching your Channel. Great video! Not only was it well thought-out and well-presented, but it was great to see a fellow left-handed woodworker at work. As a relatively new woodworker, I sometimes struggle figuring out how to use right-handed tools. Now I have someone I can look to for demonstrations!
clean, straightforward, solid. Nice build!
Nice simple design and execution, I will be building this very soon.
Awesome video! I like the way you attached it to the metal table. I'm gonna use that one when I build a new drill press table.
Very clever design in how to align the table each time. I’ve been stuck on how to do this and you showcased such an intuitive approach!
Table came out great, can't wait to see it in use...
Thanks!
Your projects are getting better and better. That's one awesome drill press table!
Well thought out and executed. It is one of the very best I've seen to date. Cheers
Thanks!
Outstanding project, and great instruction. Thank you for taking the time and effort to produce the video for the rest of us to learn from! Have a nice afternoon!
Thanks for watching!
Very cool. It looks good and it's easy to tell you spent a lot of time thinking about. Thanks for posting.
Thank you!
Beautiful, simple, and functional!
Thanks!
very well presented, so cool calm and collected in your presentation, very well done.
Nice work. I love the look of stacked plywood when finished up...
Thanks! I originally cut a couple strips of cherry and planned on edge banding it but i thought it looked better with the plywood look so I left the cherry off
Very Nice. I'm impressed. Thank you
Very nice job! Your shop looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! The shops a work in progress and always changing and it still has the new shop feel to me
Very nice! I plan to make mine very soon.
Great table top for the drill press. Good presentation. Looks fairly easy to build. Well thought out. Thanks. Got to build one now. Thanks again!
Great job on this table. I need to make a new one and you have some good ideas that I will use. Thanks.
Thanks! Good luck on yours!
Nice build! I especially like the way you fasten the table to the existing one. Thanks for the video, I will be sure to check out the rest of your channel ✌️
Thanks! Hopefully being able to take it on and off quickly will keep me from damaging it when I drill metal parts. I just watched you latest video. I like how organized your shop is!
Lots of helpful tips in here. Thank you!
Clean! Great job!
Ahh Man! This is the BEST build for a drill press fence I've seen. This is the one I'm going to copy. Thanks.
awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
good job Dave. it has all the features to obtain the max from it!!!!
Thanks! We will see how much I use the stop block but it was easy enough to add.
Great project, thanks!
I have that same drill press.
Going to build me this table also.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Good luck with the build
Great design and execution, I enjoyed the video Dave. Keep it up!
Thank you
I use a coupler nut with a bolt on other end to drive hanger bolts. It sort of acts like a nut driver. The head of the depth stop bolt is smaller than the coupler nut itself. Used a coupler with different threads on each half.
Just bought a new drill press and have watched a few videos for the fence I'd like to make in the next few weeks. Yours is, by far, the best. Functional. Attractive. Not too difficult to make. Thanks!
Thanks!
Love it. Very handy to have.
Very nice. Will use this as a guide for my tabletop
Thanks! Good luck with your table
Wow! Great job!!
Thanks!
I’ve recently been looking at dozens of different ideas for a drill press table and just seen yours. Without doubt the best I’ve seen (and video) so this is the one for me. Many thanks! (John UK)
Thanks! Good luck with the build
Great video and excellent project. Now I want to put a table on my drill press!
Thanks! It's a nice addition
Love how you compensated for the height adjustment by notching and building it up 3/4". Everyone else's design that was an after thought. I will be utilizing your design for my table top. I am considering dovetailed my sacrificial board as a triangular piece that I can slide out. Yours is the best I've seen after watching several videos
Thanks! Having an insert you can slide in and out would be a good idea.
This is an excellent tutorial. It has just the right amount of detail - not too much and not too little.
And your plan has a couple brilliant ideas I haven't seen before - offsetting the replaceable insert so you can get eight uses out of it, and adding a hole through the table to provide a way to push the insert out.
Thanks for the helping this newbie get it right the first time. 👍😀
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great job! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Nice neat table, I especially like the use of the T-track for the fence, hold down clamps and stop block. It must make setting up for drilling a hole really easy. I've just recently got a bench top pillar drill and have been thinking of how best to make a table for it. The sacrificial insert is a neat idea too!
Thanks for the feedback! The table is working out nicely so far
Nice job!
Well done! This is exactly what I was thinking of building!
Awesome! Good luck with the build!
Very nice and clean...
Well written, well spoken and well demonstrated. Very much enjoyed!
Thanks!
Great video! I had to twitch a little when you were grinding over the LP bottle lol.. I really liked your rork bench.
Turned out really good 🤟🏻
Thanks!
This is one of the smartest drill press table designs/builds I’ve ever seen. Nice!!
Thanks!
instaBlaster.
Great design, thanks
Excellent, many thanks
Thank you
This was great! ...really want to do this for my drill press. I also believe some of these techniques could be used to make a router table as well.
Thanks! A new router table set up is in my future plan too. I imagine the fence and t track work will be similar
Very nice, both the build and the video~! I think I've found my next drill press table~! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Excellent!
Thanks!
Really love how detailed and thought out the design is. Also the way it attaches to the drill press!
I give you an Awesome Sauce!
Great job. 👍👍👍
Thanks!
I think your drill press table is the best I’ve seen yet. I’m going to attempt to replicate later this winter. Great video!!
Thanks! Good luck with the build
I really liked this!
Thanks!
Good job. 👍🏻👍🏻
Your video came up in a search I did for a drill press table, And I am very glad it did. I am a novice and I felt your explanations were clear and easy to follow, So please accept my thanks for that. Your version of the table encompasses everything I believe I am going to need. It’s not over complicated and yet very functional. Looking forward to checking your library of videos real soon. Thanks again, All the best from North London. UK. ✊
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Looks good Dave!
Thanks Man. I'm waiting to see a workshop tour of the remodeled shop or a slab table build from you!
Very nice and functional having a fence on a drill table is a real game changer 👍
Thanks! It does make using the drill press a little faster and that's great when you only get a few hours a week in the shop
Great job - nice design. Using Matchfit Dovetail Clamps with dovetail groves a good alternative and avoids using T-tracks.
Yea! I like that set up you show on your channel. It gives you a lot of options
Fantastic & practical item to the Woodshop Dave, I was wondering why you were using the glue & it made sense when you explained it & Izzy Swan uses it frequently. This is my next project & I agree Christofix has some brilliant ideas.
Cheers buddy 🍻👍👍👍👍
Thanks!. I've seen Izzy Swan use CA glue too. You could definitely build the without it but it just made assembly easier.
Wonderful craftsmanship - a well thought out project executed beautifully! You video work is also quite excellent. New subscriber here! Looking forward to future project videos. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback!
Very nice.
Nice job, nice presentation.
Pretty spiffy drill press table. 👍🏻
Thanks!
Very nice video
You inspired me. Its all glued up now. Waiting on the t track. It was time to upgrade from the mdf offcuts Ive been using. My wen drill press didnt need a 3rd layer but i did di a small cutout. Thanks.
That awesome! Thanks!
Nice job. Love the simplistic design. Plan to build something similar, but will probably add a walnut edge to make it pop cuz let face it everyone loves adding walnut. Lol. Also plan to add some kind of holder or dust collection box. Thanks again for some great ideas.
Cant go wrong with walnut trim! Building in dust collection would be a good idea. Thanks for watching
Nice job - 👍
Very nice, gave me some idea's to make my own. First video I've watched from you, and got me to sub. Now I gotta stop being so lazy and get more video's done myself.
Great how to video, it's great motivation to upgrade my 20 min. hillbilly-ed, drill press table.
Very nice! Thanks!
Thanks!
Great table thumbs up my friends
Thanks!
awesome job mate love your workshop
Thanks!
Excellent video and very helpful indeed. Thanks ☺
Thanks!
@@TwistedWorkshop77 Just to add further to my above comment. One thing that I found superb was just how relaxed, clear and easy to follow your video was. Looking forward to watching some more of your videos and learning a thing or two.
Great work broski
Thanks!
Well thought out project. Explained well showing everything needed without going onto do much detail that it becomes an overly long video. Thanks'
Thank you
Great work. Wish i had a quarter of your talent
Thank you!
Well done.

Nice build.
Thanks!
Dave, you know that’s my drill press you’ve got there. It’s an excellent little press. Great drill press table!
Thanks! I picked up on facebook market place recently to replace the old benchtop one I had. It didn't look like it was ever used!
Nice buikd. I have a Porter Cable drill press, so will modify to fit the table similar to your attachment. Thanks, this is as simple and useful as it gets, and is exactly what I want. Will build mine asap...just gotta get the wood :-)
Thanks! Good luck with your build
Im building this table now :)
Nice job.
Thanks!
CA glue, brads and bolts to hold it down. You must get really physical with your drill press :-)
I dig it.
Maybe just a little overkill. Lol
Very nice
Thanks!
Nice
Nice Dave! If I didn't have a decent table on my drill press already.....
Thanks Guy!
Best drill press table I’ve seen, will be building my own. Subscribing also!
Thank you!
Very nice job! I’m going to make a copie😺
Thanks! Good luck with the build
I like. Subscribed.
Thanks!
This is my first time seeing anything from you...instant sub. Perfectly edited and explained...really great content. I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your content.

Great build but I’m digging your workbench even more.
