  • How to build a drill press table and fence DIY. Upgrade your drill press or Pillar Drill with this simple drill press table with sliding dovetail sacrificial insert. The bevels cut in the top surface hold the sacrificial insert solidly in place, and acts as a backer reducing tear out.
    The pivoting fence is an easy to use solution for repetitive drilling tasks. I’m making this for a small Wen 8 inch drill press. But this is a pretty common and effective design, while still being a simple easy build. There are far more elaborate designs out there. But, this will definitely make
    any drill press easier to use.

    Very good video. Just enough information without too many tedious unnecessary details.

    Yes, poifect! Thanks I like it and so simple. My suggestion to you is a long bolt handle for locking the table height bolt. Cheers Russell

      Thanks, yes it’s a bit tough operating the table locking handle. Never thought about changing it. 😊

    This the best vid I have seen on making a drill press table. I have the same drill press, I don't use it often but this table will make it much better to use. Love the music, and I really love not having to listen to someone talking about everything under the sun. Thank so much, you have a new subscriber.

    OMG I just set up my WEN drill press yesterday. This is so freakin' timely. I am drilling 48 7/16 holes, top and bottom, on stiles for a "rebar" dog crate.. This will be perfect for getting the holes aligned so I'm not fighting to install the rebar. Thank You

    I like the simplicity of your design and and the ease of making it. Question: why did you use a Les for your sacrificial piece compared to just a using square edging?
    Thank you

      Probably good either way, but bevelling it really locks it in position. It’s good to make a few the first time. Thanks for Watching 😊

    I have the same model drill press. How did you clear the height adjust crank? A saw the height adj locking lever at the beginning of the video, but not the crank on the other side.

    • @DIYFotoWorks
      @DIYFotoWorks  Před rokem

      Hi, The crank still functions on mine. It will hit the bottom of the table at its highest point, so I just take 1/2 or 1/4 turns to adjust the lever. Hope this helps…Thanks for watching

    • @jakewayrewa5201
      @jakewayrewa5201 Před rokem +1

      @@DIYFotoWorks OK, now I see that mine is slightly different. Mine has the same locking lever as yours, but it also has a toothed rack on the other side of the column, and a crank to adjust height. I'll see if mine will let me just raise and lower without turning the crank. Great video! I just subscribed.
