Been watching all kinds of videos on this subject. Kevin Baxter, a supreme Harley mechanic on YT is all for dipstick and Trask type breathers. He showed a 107 that started sumping and the lifters starved of oil and almost lost the whole engine. The epa almost sued HD for not going to this crappy system. Bought a Low Rider S 117 and will definitely go for one of these. Yours is a nice bike for sure.
The breather filter is better placed towards the ground because of the mist of oil that sprays out. Placing that filter on top of the heads might produce a slight smell of burning oil & don’t forget oil misting all over the chrome and other parts. Also, yeah it’s ugly but you really want to secure that hose to the oil dipstick so it doesn’t come off once enough oil seeps around.
I have had in on there for 2000 miles and nothing has come out it’s pointed straight up I think you there was that much pressure there you got bigger problems
I havent installed mine yet im going to put route mine under the seat and tie it off to the rr shock bolt on my FLHT, will also put an inline fuel filter with a paper filter to catch any oil mist
I bought this and installed in according to directions included. I went on a long ride and I noticed the bike was acting a little weird, like I was losing traction. My wife taps my shoulder and tells me that her leg was burning. I stopped the bike and there was oil all over the right side of the bike. This product siphoned the oil out my engine at 70 mph. I took it off immediatly and put the stock cap back on before I lost any more oil. Waste of money. Needless to say, my engine is toast and being replaced as I type this.
Kool product and I’ve heard they work the best for the money…. Question….. I have a 114 m-8 as well….. does this do anything for the transfer of transmission fluid over to the primary? I understand it’s a crankcase vent…. Just wondering… thanks for the great 👍 video
Thank you for watching it’s the best for. The money no it’s just for the crank case pressure problem nothing todo with the transmission. I highly recommend it it does a really good job I get almost no oil out of my head breathers since I did this
The original dipstick on the FXDR is kind of a locking system all inits own. The vents I see on you tube has a standard thread design. Am I seeing things, can you pls explain, thanks much
I’m not what the question is. The threads may look different but a I assure you there the same as stock stick it’s work perfectly I highly recommended this it’s a very simple design hope this helps
Hey, before you connected the filter it would have been nice to fire it up and see, feel, hear the flow of air at idle and maybe rev it a bit. Nice Vid!
I had it for over 3 years on my 17 ultra m8 107, nothing happens to the hose, just a liitle oil mist in the throttle body, all good. Dont forget to reduce the amount of oil to 4-4.2qt.
Your bike was OK. When you drain your oil it’s supposed to do that, that means your breather baffles in your heads are working properly, that’s one way to test it, if you engine oil flows freely they’ve gone bad. It’s still OK to mount the tube to your dipstick though. Enjoy the video.
@@chazzcapone. when you do a oil change and keep the stock dip stick on you will see the oil just trickles out. Then pull the dip stick out and you will see it come out way faster so I know that the stock dip stick and the crank case is not well vented
Hey nice video. I got one of these as well. Great product. What town on the cape are you from? Glad your CAM and new tuner are treating you well. Your bike sounds great. I too have a stage II upgrade as well. Stuck with Screaming Eagle parts but she runs great. I highly recommend you put on an external breather system on your bike next. Thanks you my friend for watching and commenting and subscribing I really appreciate it and lol I just do a external breather a couple weeks ago thanks again ride safe
It’s 27,000 and it’s much better quality then the plastic Harley part the crankcase is not well vented at all. This part helps a lot but we all have our opinions thanks for watching. Stage two kit going in this weekend watch videos 👍🏻
If you put the filter in the wind it might have back pressure kind of crap is that should have an umbrella valve in it and some screens you just drilling a hole and putting a filter on it that's retarded

Question: is nt there a risk that rubber hose melts on top of heads? Just wondering
I’m glad it helps and no it doesn’t melt on the head at all

Good deal 👌 👍
Thank you for taking the time to watch
How difficult is it to check your oil on a long road trip with this set-up?
Not hard. I would have to say you have to make a mark in it with like a grinder or wizzer wheel the marks on the stick are hard to see
Hi, how you change strainer inside? Is there any strainer like feuling product?
No strainer in there it’s a free flow. Dip stick
Thanks 👍
Anyone knows if they fixed this issue. Im getting a 2022 breakout
In my bike yes it did I get no blow my into my air cleaner if works worth the money
Hello, is that the equivalent to modifying thru the breather ?
The transmission cover breather yea. Like the one trask makes. But not the cylinder head breathers that is different
But in my opinion this dip stick is better the hole is. Much bigger then the hole on the transmission cover style
