There’s a difference between a store having overhead and straight up overpriced products that aren’t even cleaned much less in working order

@Don't Read My Profile Photo Don't come around here no more. (Good song)
@Don't Read My Profile Photo ok I wont
Yeah, their prices are absolutely insane. They're selling PS2 slim models for $185. I have multiple slims I spent no more than 40-50 on per console on (locally, online, marketplace), which came with games, memory cards and multiple official controllers. I have no idea how DKOldies even lists their consoles for that much but people still buy them
See this is the thing. They buy their consoles and games in lots and yard sales and save BIG on it. They have absolutely no issues with profit margins. This is just laziness and greed from the owner.
Calling DKoldies a trustful company is like calling GameStop a great store.
@@Don't Read My Profile Photo can you stop being a bot please
Like saying GameStop gives best value for trade-ins
@Don't Read My Profile Photo shut up
Bro is literally everywhere.
For other stuff it's pretty great tbh. Just don't try to trade in games. But they have some nice clothes and figures in there
If you don't disassemble, clean, repaste and reassemble properly it's not a refurbishment.
Ideally refurbish includes replacement of failing capacitors, batteries or other electronics.
I remember when I was 18 I got a PS3 super slim refurbished for $55. It came with 6 controllers, 12 games, all of the cables, and each piece was individually cleaned.
In 2012 my mom had a fit that I asked for an Xbox 360 that costed a whole $90 used
$180 for an OG 360 is absolutely insane. I see them in mom and pop stores for $30-40 all the time
i have 3 of them just sitting around in drawers
You also should go get them at flea markets as well, as I have seen them sell for good prices. I also highly recommend that you get PS1 and PS2 stuff from them as well. I managed to snag a copy of Fire Pro Wrestling R/Returns for $ USD 8 once from a flea market.
Like three years in a row GameStop was doing $50 360s in a row with a 49.99 instant rebate on black Fridays, this was around the time of the slim PS4/spiderman deal iirc
@@funderburke43 yup I remember that deal. I bought a super slim 360 for my nephew and it even came with the official camo controller. They were basically giving them away. Probably to clean out their overstock. Everybody had a 360 back in the day. they are easy to find
I could MAYBE understand if they were selling the 250gb slim with 2 controllers. MAYBE.

Depends how you define "scam". I would personally call it a "rip-off" instead.
Man, I'd be freaking furious if I had received that PS3. That thing ain't worth more than $50 in that condition. It's honestly a miracle it still works as well as it does. I see why they have those warranty stickers on them, since opening them up voids their warranty and they don't have to do crap even in these types of events.
that's not true, that was made illegal a couple years ago. Warranty stickers mean nothing. Many people don't know that though.
@@wiltisdabest Most people don't do anything... because good fucking luck getting the company to budge on it. Yes, it is not legal... but you'd have to drag the company through court in order to cash in most the time. Which, would be exceedingly expensive. Way more expensive than your warranty's worth.
That's why nobody goes through with it. And trust me, companies will just make a BS reason why anyways.
this is why i stuck to ebay after gamestop stopped shipping retro stuff.
the prices still stunk back when I didn't know any better. and after that i know too much, i knew not to ever buy anything for dkoldies for as long as their prices were that high. but since i know now that they don't bother cleaning their consoles unless its something like the gameboy (which is still far too overpriced), i would never buy anything from these guys. i know some peeps frown upon using ebay, but at least there you know the condition you're buying it, weither it works, and image of the console itself.
Thank to all these CZcamsrs they saved me so much money. I was so close to buying a TON from DK oldies
Not a scam
The games seem fine, it's just the consoles
@@plasterchief9582 They’re still overpriced. Plus, it’s known that they, as a company, would use bots on eBay and buy up every console, game, etc for cheap, and resell them on their site for a huge markup. It’s caused the market prices for retro items to drastically increase. So yes it’s a scam and they are scumbags.
@@thickgirlsneedlove2190 It is a scam. If they actually refurbished everything they had and sold it would be overpriced and bad value but not a scam. But the fact that they claim that everything is refurbished when they do not refurbish anything at all, and put in stickers to scare away people that do not know any better from opening it (so they dont find out that it is in fact not refurbished) IS a scam. They dont give you what they sell you. Simple as that
@PlasterChief something other posters haven't mentioned is dk oldies resurfaces all disks regardless of amount of scratches or if there working which decreases the lifespan
This is an absolute kill shot. All the negative press over the past few months and they get a relatively suspicious looking order asking for one of each of their consoles. Almost like someone might be gearing up for a massive review and they still send out worse than some of the original examples to start all of this. Gonna be hard to recover from these bigger channels calling them out.
Especially with how one of their ex-employees called them out on an interview with Rich from review tech recently in that they play favorites with repeat / high order customers.
So if what they gave Austin was the premium treatment then just imagine regular customers lol.
It will be game over when mrwhosetheboss and mkbhd reviews them.
Probably not mrwhosetheboss because he's in UK.

Those super slim PS3s were actually cheaper than what theyre selling them for. When they were new.
I don't usually stay long for a video but you my guy I respect you💯🤞🏼
I would dare to say this is a pretty final, ultimate nail in the DKOldies coffin, honestly. Thank you for covering the topic, guys.

If I bought a "refurbished" console for more than it cost new 15 years ago and it was a fucking rustbucket I wouldn't be buying from them anymore
If Unbox therapy refuted the scam claims then that would be the final nail 😂😂😂
@@RowanBird779 15 years ago refurbished consoles were 10 to 50 bucks cheaper then used. So I'm calling bullshit on you.
@@RowanBird779 I bought most of my super slim ps3s from gamestop around that time and it was less then used and new. Powergamer same thing. Regular used 64 in my area was 40. Refurbished was only 30. So you're lying
The most mind blowing fact about this is how not one person found it suspicious that someone ordered that many consoles and that MAYBE someone was going to review how well they 'refurbish' their consoles. I came across DKOldies a few months back and was going to order a couple retro consoles and with all the heat they're getting, I'm glad I did not.
What was going through your mind when you considered buying from them ?? Did you not realize the huge price difference from literally everywhere else on online ?? 🤦🏼♂️😂
@@markus7166 I didn't buy from them, I was considering it. I had assumed, like many others, that when they offer them refurbished that they're in a 'like new' condition. Ordering retro consoles is iffy because you never know what you're going to get when you buy from a private seller.
@@whydrah where did I say you bought from them ?? Even considering is idiotic when you can get on Facebook marketplace and find them for a fraction of the price in better condition. I've had no problem at all finding anything and everything on there and ebay in like new condition. You'd have to be a real sucker to even consider buying from someone who charges double the normal asking price 🤦🏼♂️😂
Same with me for the purchase thing. Ill trust my local places or Facebook market
@@markus7166Because some people have more money than time and would rather just order something rather than go around hunting for one. That’s just a thought.
I only noticed about a year ago that ps3 super slims actually have buttons for opening the disc tray cover. I always assumed I messed mine up Cu my disc tray is sticky or needs very lightly forcing into place
Also notice the fact that even for THAT price they never give you a genuine controller with any console. I think (this is just a speculation) but I think they do this so they can also sell the original controller for extra money. So not only do they make a lot of profit on the console. They also resell the genuine controller for extra money

The worst part? The fact that they seem to be deliberately putting their own warranty stickers on to discourage people from doing exactly this, because if you do and it is like this? Guess what, they can basically tell you to beat it and run off with your money because you voided their warranty.
Nope. Those stickers don't legally mean anything at all. If they wanna deny your warranty they gotta prove you broke it.
@@saybrowtur wrong an employee that worked there did an interview an he said it himself that’s why they do that , definitely a scam
Those stickers don't do jack anymore. That became illegal a few years ago. It's why you don't see them much anymore.
worst part is the whole video
Although people often do not know this, and they are genuinely afraid of breaking those stickers
A quality assurance inspector visiting their store will sure intimidate them to the point that they will be caught right-handed with their false advertising lies.
7:03 Your game store sold GBCs for $5? Please tell me where this is right now, mine sells them for like $80
11:44 Funny enough those void stickers are actually illegal in the United States under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, so even if they did enforce that, you can probably fight them over it, assuming you didn't break it when opening.
Edit: I am aware that the sticker itself is not illegal, but many companies do void the warranty if the sticker is tampered with, which is illegal according to the FTC.

Saddest part of this video is it came a little after a ton of the backlash they were receiving and clearly they changed nothing. They could have such a thriving business if they just did what they said they would do. I was very close to buying from them till I heard about all of this a month or two ago.
It's been months since they said they would fix it. They had a huge order of a ton of consoles. They knew the order was important and prob a youtuber. They clearly don't care.
They expecting the one who buy their products are stupid and only care about the outside and spend a stupid amount of money for it
@@EllRiver yeah that was silly to buy so much in a single order AND using his real name apparently..
@@ashadowintime7305 dude literally says “I did not order these, and my name is not on this packaging”.
They have a very thriving business clearly if all these CZcamsrs are buying their stock to do “check” videos lmao. Marketing W
This is why I generally don't trust anything "refurbished" - it could be the extensive teardown and testing you expect, but usually it just means they cleaned the outside and called it refurbished to jack up the price and mislead people. Usually if it it refurbished, it had some major issues in the first place, and most people/companies do not have the skills required to fix these things properly.
I think the issue is, if the console is working right away they just don't continue the process. They don't open it, they don't clean the inside of it (or maybe even the outside of it). They just see its working, list it as "cosmetically flawed", and then move on. I bet all their man hours are going towards the testing and repair of consoles that aren't working.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, DKOldies need to be held accountable for what they're doing to people. Not just the ridiculous pricing but the way they don't even touch the inside of their "Refurbished" consoles. Good to see Austin showing his viewers this!
The only way to hurt DKOldies is to not give them your money. Take your business elsewhere! (Not you, you. The general you.)
Agreed they should be held accountable it's good to see more people showing what dk does.
Ask yourself, if the second hand store or donations fixed and cleaned every product you buy, you think they’ll sell for cheap?
When I did appliance deliveries I never understood how some people would buy “refurbished” and then start complaining when we’d deliver about scuffs and dents etc like.... didn’t you know this when you bought it? Or you just wanted the refurbished priced with a like new appliance?
He’s not going to be splitting machines open to clean them when you won’t do it yourself (or you may, but majority won’t risk it) and then expect to pay the same price.
Yes they’re high, but that’s anywhere you go. If you have a decent pc then emulate what you can but if you don’t you’re only option is one of these consoles like it or not, the supply isn’t growing after 12-20 years for some consoles.
Then again, everyone buys half assed stuff, so why wouldn’t the next guy decide to do the same? Sadly the people being honest and nice don’t make money, and those stingy and deceitful make bank.
So if you want better prices do the work to find them, check second hand stores or ask older folks who no longer have their children around if they have any old consoles, you might just get lucky - otherwise unfortunately or fortunately it’s one these guys we have to deal with!
Lol calm down.
@@hakasonma8588 what about ebay or all the others means of acquiring 2nd hand items online? craiglist, facebook etc etc. i mostly bought my retrogaming stuff from ebay in the last 15 years and i never ever spent anything remotely close to the price ranges of DKOldies, and eBay is known to be littered with stupidly expensive listings and rigged auctions to push your bids higher and yet i never got in any proximity of those price tags!
Well, goddamn. Even a big Techtuber like Austin is calling out DKOldies now. They really HAVE to straighten their business practice if they still want to stay... well, in business. No sweeping anything under the rag anymore, I'm afraid.

Jacob R did an interview with an ex employee and he said they don't open them up unless you can hear something rattling around inside or it doesn't work so they have to look inside to try and see if it's something fixable. They basically do the shake test lol if it functions and they can shake it without hearing anything funny, it gets shipped with nothing more than an exterior cleaning.
That's not a good idea business wise. They are deceiving their customers in buying consoles that are supposed to be "refurbished." Having big channels like Austin Evans call them out will definitely put the nail in the coffin on their business.
Then how did they ship that 360 without replacing the disk drive. You heard the sound it made when he put a game in it? Like what kills me about this is they aren't doing the bare minimum. Like local shops will refurbish stuff, open it up and clean it really well. Idk why these guys can't.

It’s still crazy that with all the negative videos about them, a huge order like this didn’t set off some red flag.
@@lurch1539see I don’t think this order got any special treatment. Which means they didn’t realize it was going to a reviewer. Which means either someone isn’t paying attention or they don’t care, either situation sucks for the customer.
Issue is that you need to actually service consoles for people like this because they don't know much about it, they won't be servicing them themselves, and in the case with more modern consoles (like early PS3s and xbox 360s) that will lead to the disaster. On top of that, it's really immoral in my opinion to take money from people who don't know any better.
And that's why they can say whatever they want on their site knowing the average Joe won't be opening it. Whether that's legal to lie about refurbishing wel......just my thoughts

@@notoriousbig3k I agree, but I get why not everyone would want it, and so the service that they provide makes sense. To bad they don't do it...
Also keep in mind, there was an interview with Jacob R with an ex-employee of DKoldies where he explains that they are trained to not open up the consoles unless they’re literally rattling. Also those warranty stickers are intentionally put in place over screws necessary to open the console as a deterrent for people to open them up and inspect them themselves. They know exactly what they’re doing.
i mean that’s exactly how warranty stickers work 😂. it’s to prove that you didn’t mess with stuff inside and therefore the warranty is still valid
@@gotmilk20091 yeah but what I mean by that is that they know they’re not cleaning the insides of these consoles, and are using warranty stickers in an attempt to cover their lazy “refurbishing”. Cause the employees don’t care, they want this company to go down as much as everybody else, this has been going on for about 2+ months with no changes soon they’ll go out of business
They only take care for repeat customers it seems. But even then it's a stretch.
You have to pay attention to the DKoldies stickers. Its straight dishonest how they sell you the thing as having a warranty then the stick those where the screws or the seams are so you can't open it without voiding the warranty. They fully expect you to not attempt to open them at all so they don't bother with the inside. They insidiously hold the implied value of the warranty which is their entire selling point at those exorbitant prices over you, so you reasonably as a consumer will simply take them as is and not check the inside.
@Alexis Rivera not many people know that those warranty stickers don't mean shit in the USA, you can open and explore all you want, as long as your attempt doesn't directly cause a malfunction

What I find interesting is that several of the consoles in these unboxing videos had the residue of a previous DKOldies seal peaking out from the current seal including this Dreamcast . This leads me to believe that they were previously sold by DKO and were returned , most likely with a problem , and then checked/fixed and were resold . They must have a pretty high return rate which is understandable given the lack of actual refurbing going on there .
In an interview a previous employee stated their refurbished consoles are all previously returned "used" consoles that had since been repaired.

Yeah, for fun, I looked on CEX, granted a UK site with UK prices, and not even taking the exchange rate into account... yeah, I call bullshit on those prices! That's the same model as my first GameBoy Colour and it's on CEX's site for pretty much the same as it cost me back in late 2000, £80! And I did not know that about GameCubes and I had one... Although, I slightly suspect my dad secretly played a blinder with the PS3 he got me as it's an old 80GB model! I'm not fussed, I can get a bigger Hard Drive for it, which I probably will at some point... I'm happy with the console, it works perfectly fine, no real issues, no need to upgrade! Although, I did jus look and found a 500GB Super Slim is £85... There is a huge difference between "pre-owned" and "refurbished". A truly refurbed item has been taken apart, cleaned, repaired, and tested, then certified that it works THE SAME AS NEW. The items generally have a decent warranty as well.
Your definition isn’t legal, is it? Without a legal definition, there is no real footing to say what these words mean in context.
Technically, there is no "LEGAL" standpoint definition for the word "Refurbished". Refurbished is a synonym for reconditioned in which is under the entitlement (or definition) of pre-owned. As Americans, since we use fancy words to make things sound better and appealing, there are expectation behind those words. In the end, DK Oldies are running a legal business and advertising correctly. Is it still overpriced and taking advantage of old school gamers, YES. Are they breaking any laws or scamming anyone, NO. Hey Austin, make sure to play that Dreamcast for longer than just a few minutes. It's a common issue with older Dreamcasts where the solder on the power port will become brittle enough that once it heats the system will reboot, cooling the solder just enough for it to boot back up almost immediately. It looks like a software reboot, but it's a full power circle due to bad solder.
Now you have me worried, I have played my Dreamcast for hours on end (finished sa1 in one sitting due to lack of vmu). It terribly heats up but I never had this problem before. I bought it used.

Got a PS3 at a pawn shop for $60 with an original controller. This is straight up highway robbery!
Yeah but the reason you're paying premium here is for the console being refurbished and cleaned, the PS3 you got could have dust bunnies and who knows what inside. Average joe doesn't know nor do they want to bother with cleaning up the console.
Edit because some people think I'm defending DKOldies somehow which I'm not, I was just trying to say the REASON DKO charges premium prices is because they claim they do refurbishment and cleaning which clearly they don't. But if they did all that then the premium prices would be ok.
@@BenjaminHari yeah but that wasn’t done to the PS3 on the video was it? So that point is null and void.
@@BenjaminHariyea but dk Oldies is charging $500 for ps3s and they don’t even touch the inside of it and barely even clean the outside and you get an off brand controller
@@BenjaminHari yeah but dkscammies aint doing nothing
@@kanggoo57 exactly, that's the whole point of the video and why they are a scam.
How did you manage to display the wii in NOT a 460p? 😮
That is NOT a new gameboy screen but is a new bezel/screen cover theyre like 20 cents each
This is why I’m fine with buying 50$ older used consoles from pawnshops or local game stores. I have everything needed to actually refurbish it myself and they usually have a 30-60 day return window incase i find a problem i can’t fix.
Getting them all ordered at once would be a signal to me that the buyer isn't just some random person
Got a gameboy color developer kit model for 89$ if a regular customer grape is 180$ then we live in a messed up society
You know that you are a bad scammer when Austin makes a video on you.
I’m so glad bigger CZcamsrs like Evan is getting into this because it needs to be shown and make customers that are getting false advertised items they are being scammed by this money hungry company
Dkoldies seems like the one game store guy at your local flee market who buys all the good stuff from other vendors and then tries to sell it for online prices as long as it works

@@hemmed32 man shut up
Reminds me of the people who go to yardsales and take advantage of homeowners' lack of knowledge of what their goods are actually worth and resale them online 3x the amount.
@@donlalo2002 That's just good business. It's their fault if they don't know the value of what they're selling
Say what you will about eBay but if the reseller is reputable usually you get a good item. And eBay refunds your money if you can provide proof that the item you ordered is defective.
I saw their Shorts being promoted and thought they sounded familiar. I looked up their prices, as I had just gotten a GameCube and N64 again, and was floored at them. Sure, it's getting harder to find good deals and some communities don't have great video game stores, but the prices they're asking demand a lot more than "it works!" And I KNEW I heard of them somewhere, and thus remembered this controversy.
Sure, labour costs money, but then be honest about expectations and cost. "Your console may not be refurbished, but it'll look good and function, plus you'll have a warranty, and you'll be supporting a company that's dedicated to ensuring ease of access to classics"...then again, that last part pretty much necessitates refurbishing :|
17:04 Why does he got to sound like Linguini when he screamed after he was bitten by Remy?
I can almost guarantee that 360 was returned early in its life cycle to Microsoft to be fixed, i had my first gen 360 for only a few weeks before it started having disc read errors and had to be shipped back to them. I was lucky and never got the red rings but they tried charging me another $100 for the repair claiming it was out of warranty, it did however come back with the updated cooling design...
Yea me too hell I had a PS5 that went up I’m smoke when they first came out sent it back to Sony took them like 5 months to give it back I almost bought another one
@@brendonwallace6640 Damn man thats crazy, at least MS returned mine in a week after i had to argue with them about the warranty.
seeing the xbox 360 and ps3 being sold as authentic classic consoles makes me feel old, i grew up on those.
you see that x on the bottom of the 360 that has been modded to prevent red ring those are the x clamps that were aftermarket the og ones looked nothing like that

Indeed he will be!

@Don't Read My Profile Photo bot
Missed chance when not tearing down the GC. I'm interested if it has a modchip or if it has the shell swapped.
So much this. I'm betting it was a shell swap. Probably got an as is to try to mod it and swapped the shell
It's just a jumper on the ic it's a 3 minute fix
Its a jpn console with a region mod edit jumping R5 on the mainboard.
Google: "jpn to us gamecube"
Best way to actually get a new one is never to open them and keep using it, maybe theyll go broken after 6 months of good use
I opened and cleaned my GCN last year and oh boy there was a lot of dust, and put isopropanol inside the movie part of the discdrive. Was struggling to read games, cleaned the lens, plugged it, played sunshine on it, without a single problem since
Used to work for GameStop. All refurbished means by their standard is that the console turns on and reads disks if it previously did not.
That's the standard for most places. It turned on.
Honestly disgraceful, especially when they (DKOldies and probably GameStop) demonstrate their ability to actually restore consoles properly, but no, gotta make them profit margins with as little effort as possible
Refurbished, Repaired, Used. Now if it said restored..... then it should look clean and new.
@@Joosher56 hi breadbug
@Chuck Buskee it is because they actually think items delivered by mail in a package mean it is new im their tiny minds.
I was highly considering ordering from them six months ago and then I kept seeing videos of them but now this officially does it for me I’m not doing business with them. Thank you, Austin.
Stay away… you can find better deals nearly anywhere else if you search.
You should look up a less possibly destructive way to work on your stuff my dude the first cpu cleaning almost caused me to have another stroke lol
I rather just buy from my local game shops.
No they don't refurbish the consoles they sale, unless they can be salvaged, but at least they dont lie to me and the prices are a bit more reasonable.
Probably been said in here already but those paper stickers on the inside on the OG 360 was an indication that it's been sent back under warranty and had RROD fixed.
The outside of the consoles as well aren’t always taken good care of either by DKOldies. As others have pointed out, using magic erasers as you see in the refurbish vid will actually cause abrasions on the surface of your console, making that Wii loose it’s glossy coat and be left with a scuffed mess. There’s other outside cosmetic horror shows on CZcams as well. So inside and out, you’re getting a bad deal from them. Glad you added another case against them, Austin!
The magic eraser part of their video gave me anxiety. Magic Erasers are basically sandpaper, they're SO abrasive. I'd be willing to bet that's why the finish on the PS3 in this video looks so bad. Its already easily scratched and they clean things with a magic eraser 😭
They wiped down the outer surfaces extra good because regardless of who’s name is on the package, it’s unlikely that someone is ordering all of that in one go and not filming it. Keep this in mind if you think the consoles being wiped down is a saving grace for these con artists.
What i hate about dk oldie is say you want to sell them your wii they pay for you to ship it to them but if theres any problems with the wii or whatever console they DO NOT ship it back to you..... they keep it without paying you..... then they make videos where theyre fixing them and they sell the console anyways even though it didnt work well enough for them to pay you for it at all..... shady shady
I would imagine the scuffing on the top of the Sunshine disc is due to a common problem with resurfacing GameCube discs. Because they’re small, they often times like to get covered and have residue left over that would normally be left to like, the very sides of a normal disc. Super common to find that residue and scuffs on resurfaced GameCube games sadly
Ooooh, so this is why I stopped seeing their shorts spammed everywhere, lol
Also, yes, those prices are not just overpriced, they are straight out of this world....
I blocked them on CZcams and tiktok and they’re still coming up
So if I was looking to buy N64 games, and have had bad luck with functionality on eBay, where can I go to buy them?
18:55
I thought I knew my colors cuz that piece of "black" plastic looked gray to me...
Nice to have a high profile CZcamsr like you expose them for all their crap. Hopefully they will see a dip in their sales and actually do something to fix it.
I think most people prefer Dkoldies gone forever
@@fjrqjadlrns Exactly. You cant fix stupid, and for sure can't fix a scammer

DK Oldies definition of "Refurbished" is: We just throw it in a box and mail to you for an increased price
6:55 I remember I bought an Atomic Purple GBC at a used game store for $40, and it still works PERFECTLY!
It's not just a problem, it is literally fraud. This is why I never buy refurbished. Either buy it second hand in good condition or learn to refurbish it yourself. Not only does it work out cheaper the majority of the time, it's actually very rewarding learning a new skill like this.
I agree, I was debating about buying a second hand refurbished console, but I recently decided to just buy parts and building it up my self
Haven’t seen Austin walked away speechless before 😂. It is like its better buy from an individual sell person than from DKoldies
For how much he paid for that ps3 I would've done the same 😂😂 Basically water damaged at that point lol
The problem with the ps3 is that instead of trying to clean it properly, they used the magic eraser thing, absolutely destroying the gloss finish, which probably already looked scuffed to hell
I just wanna know why almost all their PS3 consoles look similar once you start to disassemble them. If they were truly refurbished, we shouldn't be greeted by dust.
That pin was trying to read that Hard Drive so bad lmao 🤖👾
I just need to figure out where I can order a charger port for my Gameboy then and sodder on a new one cause I swear this is heartbreaking I was looking into ordering a Gameboy for the nostalgia and a few games but scratch that
DK Oldies can’t cover up their scamming ways now. Jacob R, ReviewtechUSA, Penguinz0, and now Austin Evans. If these guys can’t get DKOldies to stop lying and to start being honest, then I don’t know who can.

Imagine 1 year warranty being such a big deal. That's included even for second hand shops for us here in Europe. 2 years being the norm for retailers.
I bought a gameboy advance of them and when it arrived the gameboy wouldn’t read the cartridge no matter what it felt like there was something stuck before the cartridge went in all the way, I took a light an looked in the slot and it turns out a piece of thick plastic from what we can tell was stuck in there. We used pliers to get the piece off and it was legit a melted piece of some other game that was stuck in there, then after 2 weeks the gameboy wouldn’t turn back on and when I called about getting a replacement or refund after I told them of the situation they said they couldn’t do anything because we decided to try to fix it which to them is tampering with the product apparently what I was suppose to do was call them about the piece being stuck in the slot and pay to send it to them and pay them to send it back to me.
I’m kind of glad to have seen this, I had always assumed that DK Oldies mostly got hate for their prices, but until they get this fixed, I don’t know if I can purchase from them.
never purchase from them for all the videos that have been shown for how horrible condition they've looked and the lies you have to be an idiot on not paying attention to it
Even if they somehow manage to get their stuff together, I'll forever refuse to buy from them, these prices are outrageous.
@@ShaOryDow i'm in canada and even when it auto adjusts to CAD prices they are outrageous the fan favourite snes pack for example goes for 370 and it would be 60$ more if you add 2 original controllers where i went to a mom and pop store payed 150$ for one with a controller and all OEM cords even a ps1 goes for 180 where i can get one for 60$ at most
They basically use sandpaper to clean the outside of the consoles, so that's a big issue as well lol
Just buy second hand from someone. Seriously. I've got 30+ consoles, all acquired for roughly 30-40 bucks at most (with exceptions, some even cheaper, and only a few a bit more expensive).
All I had to do was do a teardown myself and clean it up on the inside. There's hundreds of videos online on how to do that.
You also always get extra stuff with it like controllers, sometimes even games.
It's just not worth it buying from them, even if they were cheaper and actually refurbished the consoles.
