Mortier draaiorgel - De Kaasdrager

A somewhat rare recording of Mortier organ no.642 when named "De Kaasdrager". This very early Mortier (actually a rebuilt Gavioli) has had several alterations during its life, and it is now known as "De Broadway" and sounds completely different. I personally feel it should have been preserved as the wonderfully original dance organ it was up until the early 1960's.

If it was originally a Gavioli organ, then it doesn’t matter whether it stayed as a dance organ or not. It’s a far nicer organ now anyway.

I agree - it is still very much a nice organ, now definitely better than it was here. Never mind me and my purist views! 😆
