Andretti F1 Opens Up & Drops Bombshell On F1!
Having been rejected entry from Formula 1 in what could be the biggest slap in the face in the history of the sport, Andretti Motorsport may have just been thrown a massive lifeline, better yet, they may have just been thrown two! You may be thinking that we’re only going to be talking about RB here, however another team may have just stepped into the fray and offered a far more realistic opportunity for Andretti to step in! In our opinion, Andretti’s rejection didn’t recieve nearly enough backlash, likely due to the people with the biggest voices not wanting to scupper their chances of being in the media pens on race weekends by upsetting Liberty Media or the FOM. In what amounted to “your family legacy and sporting acumen across other disciplines means nothing” as a rejection to one of the biggest American Motorsport brands in the world, with the future backing of GM guaranteed to provide a Ford vs GM grudge within the sport, Andretti could not have been blamed for thinking “screw this” and walking away. However, the American team are clearly made of tougher stuff, as they continue to post regular updates of their near functioning facilities and provide public pressure on F1 to let them through the door. The timing of a team in crisis and a team in flux could not be better then, as Andretti Motorsport may well be given a back door pass, rather having to ram through the front as they have been constantly told over the past few years.

That can't happen. Ferrari has a current contract with Haas for some serious money that doesn't end until the 2026 season. Financially, Haas has no reason to want to sell the team. Right now Haas is in a contractual nightmare that CANNOT be changed even if they wanted to sell.

Andretti will stay away from HAAS. They already had a relationship with them in INDY and that came to an end. Andretti will buy Alpine and get in through the back door. Honestly, it would be nice to see more teams join to give more drivers an opportunity we used to have more teams on the grid than what we have now it will be nice to see it return to that and give more drivers the opportunity as well as our excitement. I’m even open to them only allowing the talk in teams after qualifying to participate in the race each each each week so that the backer teams would all be competing to try and get to race. I think it would be very interesting if there were 12 to 15 teams, and only 10 qualified for the race each week it would add to the excitement.

@@georgemilligan8602 yeah I’d like to see it go to being more teams and having them all have to qualify with the top 10 qualifying for the Sunday race. I’m OK with Red Bull two teams mainly because if they add more teams then Mercedes Ferrari and all the big names can have a junior team, it would just mean that both teams would likely not qualify in the top 10 for the main race and those that didn’t qualify would have to do the sprint but I think that would be the best option for the sport going forward, allowing more teams and giving more drivers opportunities

Actually, increasing the grid to 22 cars isn’t a terrible idea. Yes, the circuits would have to modified, but, back it day, 22 cars was a small grid

I think that if Andretti could purchase the Alpine Team with the current engine is the best because any new team no matter what combination of driver, engine, or just being new will not be that competitive. You should damper your ideas to just the first years completing races and then getting points. Once the engine is changed and has a time to be shaken down, the team has been established and is starting to earn points.

Stop. We're talking about the Andretti's! They can buy Alpine, keep the old cars for parts, and drop their new car into the lineup and be fast already. Besides, the Alpines are not bad cars. They did place fourth in 2022, and they have good equipment. They just in lack " organization" and a drive to succeed. With Andretti at the helm, They could make a huge leap forward and be part of the conversation. Don't write Andretti off just because they are " new"!
