It is worth pointing out that much of the Warsaw old town was rebuild thanks to very detailed paintings of the city made by a 18th century painter. The city was destroyed so much that it was not possible to rebuild it only based on the look of the ruins themselves. Unlike other cities in Europe that suffered collateral damage (sometimes very extensive) Warsaw was on purpose raised to the ground by the nazis using explosives and flamethrowers out of spite and hatred.

Kosciuszko and Pulawski are heroes of Poland and the USA. Kosciuszko was a Polish military engineer, statesman, and military leader who became a national hero in Belarus, France, Lithuania, Poland and the United States. He fought in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth's struggles against Russia and Prussia, and on the US side in the American Revolutionary War. In the will, Kościuszko left his American estate to be sold to buy the freedom of black slaves, including Jefferson's own, and to educate them for independent life and work. Several years after Kościuszko's death, Jefferson, aged 77, pleaded an inability to act as executor due to age and the numerous legal complexities of the bequest. It was tied up in the courts until 1856.Jefferson recommended his friend John Hartwell Cocke, who also opposed slavery, as executor, but Cocke likewise declined to execute the bequest. None of the money that Kościuszko had earmarked for the manumission and education of African Americans in the United States was ever used for that purpose. Though the American will was never carried out as defined, its legacy was used to found an educational institute at Newark, New Jersey, in 1826, for African Americans in the United States. It was named for Kościuszko.

6:45 that building is actually a very old crane, ships used to dock below it and use the crane to unload the supplies here :)

In Gdansk there is the largest church roof in Europe (St. Mary's Church). Malbork Castle is the largest castle in the world built of bricks. More than 30 million bricks were used in its construction. Poland has everything you want, mountains, sea, national parks, cities with centuries of history and museums. Poland is a beautiful country. It's really worth coming.

Tadeusz Kosciuszko founded "THE WEST POINT ACADEMY" and was great friend of George Washington. Kosciuszko helped you in your war for the independance, he was tallented general and yes he was Pole and in Poland he has his Mound because for Poles he is national hero the same way as he is for Americans and for the same reason, fight for freedom

Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw was a "gift" from Joseph Stalin (who in cooperation with Germans invaded Poland in 1939 and ordered massacre of Polish officers and inteligence in Katyń) and was named after him for years.
It is a copy of "seven sisters" - buildings build in Moscow in this era.
it was a very big sign "commies are here and will stay".

Because of this history, many Poles would like to demolish this building. Personally, I think it should remain as a cautionary tale.

After visiting the 10 most interesting places in Poland, it is still worth going to the village of Cazale in Haiti, where black Poles live. I am not joking👇👇
