Poland is like a menu in relatively cheap but good restaurant. It’s not Michelin Stars quality, cause there are places in the world where you can find higher mountains, warmer seas, bigger lakes and so on. But there’s plenty of food to choose from this menu. So you wouldn’t be bored.

When i'm giving a tour of Warszawa to my friends from abroad I always, after showing them standard destinations, take them to metro station Centrum and after 15 minutes when they go out at metro Wawrzyszew, next to Lindego forest their jaws drop only to be even more shocked when after 15 minutes hike, we enter Nature 2000 preserve of Bielański Forest. They can't believe that 15 minutes ride from the middle of a capital city you end up in wild forest with deers, boars, foxes, with nothing but a song of the birds and wind in the trees. :D
It gets EVEN better after we walk down to the Wisła and walk down the stream as they see people fishing, making campfires, playing guitars on a wild, secluded beaches, only to get mind blown when we hop on a ferry and end up on an opposite bank at Tarchomin and walk upstream on a cliffs through widing path in yet another forest and end up next to busy tram stop and after short ride end up at Plac Wilsona in the busiest place of Żoliborz district.
Looks of astonishment on their faces is priceless xD

The best thing is that they probably won't see it coming. People in the west still have this idea that Poland is still stuck in the 70's behind the iron curtain.
This usually increases the shocker they get when seeing all the beauty poland has to offer.
PS. on your list, i'd add the wealth of castles and palaces. There's SO much of them all over the place!

@@LoveMyPoland No, not really-sadly, too late. Have you not gone out into the countryside around Czestochowa and seen the new houses and the price tags they now achieve? When I came to Czestochowa and came to Base School of English, I was staying with my wife's sister out on bus route 25. I went for a walk as far as a road called Jemiodowo, I do not know where they get the cash from but the days of cheap communist Poland are long since gone. It is probably a mixture of E.U. funding as well as working overseas and then sending the money back to Poland to invest. Whatever, the days of the Syrenka and Polonez motor car are well behind us now as well as cheap land and housing.
Danieljurkiewicz talks about ''good to invest here'' but when it was good to invest in Poland, sadly only Polish people had the right to buy in Poland, now, everybody can but do they still have adequate funds or deep enough pockets?!

Hi! When I lived in Poland I was curious to why some of the road signs had two route descriptions. My Polish friends told me it was because the area had their 'own' language. I believe it is a language called 'Kashubian' (correct me if I'm wrong... I had to look it up! Sorry...). I thought it was both fascinating and brilliant that Poland would go to such lengths to retain the language. They also told me about the mountain ranges to the south of the country and one day I hope to get there and appreciate them for myself. Great channel by the way and appreciate you passing on your knowledge.

About our Baltic sea... There are many spots on this sea, that water temperature are much higher then in others area.
You can check this on 'water temperature' data and go to place, if you wanna go into sea.. swim, etc., where this temp. is higher.
For example.. in same day in some places, water temp. will be around 15-17 Celsius degree, but in other this same sea can have around 21-22 Celsius degree.
This few degree can make BIG difference for you. 😀
If you have good spot, you can spend almost whole day in sea. And have great fun from waves and from that, that you can go far away from cost line on food. 😀
Because Baltic sea is v. shallow sea. And often you can go around 500 meters from cost line into sea, just walking. 😀
And water in sea is great, because have less salt than 'normal'. And sand beaches... ARE THE BEST!! 😀

That was amazing! If you continue this subject, try to mention Polish soups and cakes, all the wild mushrooms dishes, meat dishes such as kotlety mielone or duck in apples. What about potato pancakes? And the landscapes such as Mazury lakes, Błędowska desert, Łeba dunes, Baltic cliffs and lighthouses. And one thing more: Polish hospitality. People are great with foreigners, especially from the US and other "rich" countries they admire and envy. But are hostile and mean for each other, among the Poles. And if a Pole emigrates or simply travels abroad, another Pole is his greatest enemy which is sad😢 Great videos, I'll be watching 😊

I know it's a dark subject, but you should have included the Auschwitz and Majdanek memorial museums. Sure, it is not fun at all but they are both moving experiences, and after the former is right between Zakopane and Krakow after all - If I recall well, the trip by bus from Krakow is no more than 45 minutes. And the town of Oswiecim is very nice, a welcome relief after visiting the former camp (weirdly enough, there is a bar blocks away from it) . Ah, on a brighter note, if you have time with your family, head over to Chelm (an hour or so from Lublin) and check out the Chalk mines. They are unique in the entire world - tunnels and tunnels of chalk mines carved right under the town of Chelm. You might even catch a glimpse of Du Bieluch, the mine's elusive ghost.

One interesting thing about Poland is that it's probably the most rural country in Europe, maybe after Ukraine, meaning that it has the highest rural population ratio at 40%. That makes it quite interesting to me, as every other country in europe has a much lower rural population.

Funny thing really as I have just flown back from Poland this very morning. I stayed for the best part of a week in Krakow and then took the train to Czestochowa Stradom. As I walked around the very hot streets, and believe me, there has been a real heatwave in Poland these last few weeks, I even found the school Base but the doors were usually locked except for the last time on Tuesday late afternoon when somebody, definitely Polish but with a a strong but funny American accent, was having a telephone conversation with somebody about fat young people and how to lose weight-I decided not to intrude. I liked Czestochowa, in fact, in some ways, it is more natural and less tourist focused than Krakow and I spent a happy two hours or so around Jasna Gora. I can recommend a nice little cafe there at the foot of Jasna Gora that prepares a very nice zapiekanka for 14 zloties-well worth the stop-off.
It might be worth mentioning that the school Base is almost adjacent to the museum where my wife worked for some time many years ago. Visiting Czestochowa should become even easier soon as a train is being built between the airport at Katowice and it should connect with Czestochowa itself, at the moment, it is still a seventy kilometer drive.

@@LoveMyPoland There will be other times, I'm sure. If I came to the right place, there was a driving school below you and a real estate office to the right of you. The man in the estate agent's office was nice. I went there as the school showed classrooms 1,2 and 3 on one level and class 4 below but the man knew nothing of classroom number 4 one floor below. Sometimes knowing Polish has its small advantages.

Polskie wybrzeże liczone chyba razem z Obwodem Kaliningradzkim 😊, bo w szkole uczono nas, że liczy ok 500 km 😉👍

Dodaj wszystkie linie brzegowe polskich części Mierzei Wiślanej, Zalewu Wiślanego, Zalewu Szczecińskiego, to będzie więcej niż 500 km.
