Bro forgot to use apple cloth💀💀

Don't clean the screen with isopropyl alcohol, as others pointed out it will eat trough the layer and create permanent damage (trust me, I did an oopsie on my old monitor)
Is there a difference with isopropyl and rubbing?
…What?
Came here for this !!
@@lambdaboy9999rubbing alcohol is the same but there should be a % of distilled water so its diluted isopropyl alcohol
same thing as what he showed happens with windex
At first I thought the MacBook screen was broken with green lines
same, im dumb💀
Don’t worry, we are not dumb alone
Same
Same until he said it💀😭😭
Same 😭
My dude, use 80/20 isopropyl, not 99%. The small amount of water is better for cleaning, also it is ESD safe. People put a drop of a surfactant in a bottle to ensure micro cracks are cleaned, too. I use a drop or two of dawn as my surfactant.
I used 99% isopropyl alcohol once to clean the back glass of my phone... On the next morning the glue was loosen and I had to take it to the repair shop to glue it back.... I don't remember if apple use glue or screws to put the monitor together but I would avoid the 99% at any case it is so aggressive.
@@arthuralonso25Glue, everyone uses glue now because that’s how it’s done without having screw holes around the whole device
and they won’t use clips for phones
@@arthuralonso25How much did you use?
I bet that’s not as good in the long term still.
For anyone clueless, DO NOT use isopropyl, it will do the same thing that was shown for windex for monitors that are non-touch! They lack glass and isoprop will damage it
That's not true at all.
Isopropyl doesn't damage it at all 💀
70% might cause damage as it can pool up and takes longer to disolve. A little bit of 99% iso on a cloth never caused me an issue.
Maybe on an 2000s LCD once, but it was already gone ...
@@MyNamesNotShaneKid try it then, im speaking from experience here, 99% iso, lg 24GN60R
wiped it down, and viola, splotches of missing filter and monitor unusable
@@MyNamesNotShaneKidit’ll mess up your oleophobic coating
Apple hasn’t used this stuff in many years. We use electrolyzed water now. Very sustainable as you don’t have to purchase a solution in a bottle constantly. Just use the same machine to make it every day.
U work there ?

How in hell would water, a polar molecule, do anything against anything oily, which is what makes the majority of what makes a screen dirty?
@@dimitrijekrstic7567it is actually what is used in stores, we literally used plain mist bottles and microfiber cloths, trust me it does wonders
@@dimitrijekrstic7567electrolysis. the tech has been used for industrial cleaning with a water, salt and vinegar solution for over 50 years and is currently the gold standard method for dealing with industrial oil and grease. it is especially known for being very gentle on sensitive surfaces due to a near neutral ph, while still packing quite a punch when it comes to grease and grime. modern EW setups no longer incorporate vinegar, but the system works by electrolysis, converting the components in salt into a powerful degreaser/ sanitizer (chloride into Hypochlorous acid and sodium into sodium hydroxide).
They don’t use this anymore. They use “Toucan” which is a water ionizer that just uses salt.
If even their cheapest phone is above 600$, then yeah they would keep the SHOOSH🗿

Distilled Water is the best for cleaning screens
Why?
@@__alves_ no minerals = no smudges / residue after drying
@@__alves_I use water on my MacBook and it just works. makes the screen look brand new
No it's not. Most of what makes screens dirty is oil and grease from our fingers, which water has virtually no effect on. Also if it gets in the wrong cracks it can obviously potentially damage the sensitive electronics
@@dommorris8163most electronic device screens come with an oleophobic coating on them which allows oils from your skin and sneezes to be removed easily using water. Most cleaners slowly remove this coating but water does not.
It also makes the screen slicker and resistant to fingerprints. Not permanently of course but it does add an oleophobic coating to the surface…
I wonder, does the Whoosh screen cleaner work on tv's as well?
@@mesmorrow
As long as it's a glass panel.
@@AutoYoung It's for modern smart tv's, which I guess the screens are not made out of glass.
Isopropyl alcohol will also eat the coating on the device Windex actually has alcohol in it also. The lense cleaner at lense crafters is really good and is not active. So it does not eat away coatings.
The alcohop won't remove the coating because there's no coating on the screen the surface is literally just glass and ceramic with are not reactive
I just read the Whoosh description, it does said AMMONIA and ALCOHOL FREE.
@@livingglowstick1337 Yes it WILL eat the coating. Some LCD screens have an ati-glare coating on them, and alcohol will remove that. Are you stupid? I suggest you get a brain before replying to people. Thank you
@@livingglowstick1337it has olephobic coating man
Or just... Water...
Don't use alcohol to clean your devices it is sometime dissolves the adhesive that attaches screen or other parts.
Best thing for cleaning MacBook screens I have found, especially MacBook screens that have delam, is the alcohol free baby wipes from Menards. It's like 97 cents a package. You get I think 50 wipes per package
We don’t have Menards around here, but you still sound like every person I’ve ever heard talk about shopping at Menards. 😂
Always extra detailed with the price and count of stuff. Lol
It's actually the alcohol that can cause damage to the outside layer of the screen
Why would they ever want to change it?
Ask PRG i guess😂
What about good old water? I thought Apple recommended that in their official website?
We got some at our repair shop a few years back, this stuff is insanely good, so i immediately bought a bottle for home use.
Glasses cleaner and cloth works 💪
Bet you can say he got flooded with ideas making this one 😂😂
Use distilled water to clean screens instead of isopropyl alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol can damage the coating on your devices.
Alcohol on screen💀💀 RIP screen glare coating. I know this laptop doesn't have it, but please don't use alcohol on your screens
Woosh is amazing. Windows, TVs, computers, mirrors. It's like magic.
Don't use isopropyl alcohol on screen
Especially if the screen has anti glare coating
Your screen will look dirty and oily
Who also got reminded to clean their phone 😂
I remember seeing Whoosh back when they came out with their product at CES. I remember them saying it wasn't just the product they sprayed on the device, but the specially designed cloth that really made the difference!!!
Isn’t alcohol also very bad for your coating?
Yes it is. The oleophobic coating doesn’t like it.
Water and a micro fiber is a cheap solution that won’t affect the coatings.
@@Michael_K_Woodswater is extremely bad for these screens as well.. got some slight rain on my 2015s screen and wiped it off instantly and the streaks are still there today
@@biigsmokee that's rain, not just water (and yes there's a significant difference)
Well, good to know they're not being snobby
I just use my breath and tp and it’s super clean no chemicals
Apart from the water vapour in your breath, which is the chemical responsible for cleaning your screen.
Then use the woosh since it's a fancy way of saying dishwashing soap, and no alcohol. Since alot of acids can slowly dissolve the clear coating on any screen.
That's why just use a damp cloth with a small amount of dish washing soap then finish it with damp cloth without soap, then blow dry to make sure it doesn't corrode anything metal.
Alcohol can also lead to discoloration as the oleophobic coating gets worn away
I use my t-shirt and get perfect results every time
DO NOT use alcohol on your screen. Alcohol disolves glue and could break your screen. Also it's not good to directly put on LCD screens either because it messes up the coating. You need an alcohol free cleaner like Woosh!
Dude went from apple hater to apple certified salesman in the worst way
'I need to go wash my ice cubes'😂
Just spit on it dude 😂😂
Use vinegar and hot water mixed together. Cheaper and the best results
Best is a damp cloth with water. Some screens have a layer that protects it but isopropyl and index can destroy the protection layer
Use lens cleaner like from Walmart, as it's made to be safe for lens.
If you check apple’s website, they don’t use this anymore. They say to ONLY clean your devices with water on a soft cloth, except their phones which sometimes say soap and water which is an atrocity imo
Why are people saying it’s a secret the legit advise it to us for phone repair
Just a little water cleans perfectly
Don’t use more than 70% alcohol!
I tried several solutions. Now I just use warm water with mild dish soap on a soft dish sponge, then wipe dry with a clean dish cloth. Perfect every time.
I worked at Apple and this true we would use this product to clean at close, but did switch to a different brand.
just do soapy water with a *damp but not wet* microfiber. works every time
Don't use isopropyl alcohol to clean screens, unless you are partial to sepia.
if the isopropyl didn’t work you did something wrong it never fails me
We used to use this. Prior to this, we used Bouch and Lomb branded stuff. Every since COVID, we use electrolyzed salt water which apparently makes a type of bleach solution that ACTUALLY cleans the products.
When you use windex you’re supposed to use paper towels not cloths
Don't use alcohol, can dissolve the outside polarizer of the screen
I have been using whoosh screen shine for years and that $20 a bottle goes a long way because you don't need that much of it. It works so well at removing finger smudges and dirt. I'm fully on board.
NEVER use Windex on Plastic.
I work in IT and I just use the hygene alcohol stuff, it work better than isopropol if you want to clean in one go since it also contains more water.
I've been using whoosh for about a year and I will never go back. You also have to buff the whoosh
Thought dude was going to compare it to other screen cleaners, but ended up pulling out Windex and Isopropyl 😂
Windex has ammonium hydroxide in it, which is fine for regular glass, but horrible for displays
Definitely not biased or sponsored
I use this stuff called Noonshine from a company local to me. It works wonders for everything aside from plastic screens. For plastic screens I'll just use isopropyl alcohol
Fun fact, wipe in counter clockwise motions, it gets 99% of streaks and cloth particles. Don’t ask me why, it was a useless trick I noticed while in the military lol
If you're going to use alcohol to clean your screen, use a 50% dilution so you don't ruin the hydrophobic coating
Secret: fill a spray bottle with water. Spray lightly on the screen and wipe with clean microfiber cloth. Always perfect, no harm to any coatings
That’s the most apple thing I’d expect
ISO will also dissolve the anti glare layer so you should say that as people will use it and destroy their screens
Cleaning your screen with isopropyl is kinda wild tho tbh
I'm a machinist and we get the anti fog Google cleaner stuff. And it works really well smells weird though. Have you ever tried the old vinegar water and newspaper trick
Well there was that one point in time they told everybody to use Clorox wipes which I said from the beginning was a horrible idea. You're supposed to wear gloves with those things. Used to work for a place where we used it to clean the counter off, that's the strips paint off wood! Multiple layers!
The alcohol will melt the screen over time
I thought it was a drink with that packaging. I'd drink it for sure
Water 2 parts and 1 part white vinegar is the best IMO
They installed chip to make it super clean only when using that brand cleaner
I use water and a microfiber cloth and it seems to work pretty well
Don't use cleaners containing alcohol to clean
screens or glasses. that includes some wet wipes for glasses, screens or optics. They sell it to earn money, not to help you.
i wish the algorithm would stop with these shorts
water with a microfiber cloth on the MacBook screen is the best and easiest way to clean them
Ive never used any solution, just a microfibre cloth and im happy with my results
This guy don’t even get his screen clean with alcohol, windex or a $20 screen cleaner 😂
Also whoosh does not damage the anti-reflex layer as alcohol by the time does.
Microfiber rag and long gentle buffing.. No more IPA, learned the hardway.
Never use iso-prop on sceens! It damages the oriophobic coating
how about testing it against other products intended for screen cleaning instead of things that will rip off the coatings off it?
I bought this for my tablets and one point brought it to work as well. It ended up working so well at my work that I took it back home because everybody was abusing it since it was the generally the best thing we had.
My monitors and tablets have never looked so clean a little goes a long way
Dont forget that isopropyl alcohol destroys the oleophobic coating
Beginning: "Apple refuses to use this."
Ending: "I can see why they use this."
Even though you use apple polishing cloth + just water, you gonna damage the coating anyway. The screen is too fragile to even touch
I just use a damp rag with a drop of dawn the wipe the screen off with a dry rag.
I saw an apple employee polishing the apple store... yes the outside of the store, for some reason
DO NOT use Windex on your MBP screen. Literally speaking from experience here. I trashed the screen on a work laptop!
sprayway glass cleaner is like 4 bucks and is amazing doesnt have either ammonia or alcohol. its the only thing i use
Sprayway glass cleaner clears easily
You don't wanna use isopropyl on any anti glare surfaces
We gotta wait for android update😔
The best cleaner is legitimately just distilled water and a micro fiber cloth
You want distilled water because it doesn't have any minerals in it, due to the distilling process and a microfiber cloth to prevent scratches
Other cleaners and materials can destroy the screen, deposit oils and add scratches
In fact, tangentially related, don't use "wood cleaners" on wood furniture, most of them add waxy coatings. Similarly, don't use "fabric softener" it does the same thing to your clothing and washer
Not defending apple or that absurd price, but they use it because both windex and alcohol will eat throw the protective layer of the screen while that $20 bottle doesn’t, apparently 😅
I don't clean my screen 💀
I use water and elbow grease. And it shines better than any product.
What do you saw about that.
just use 70% IPA, 99% IPA evaporates too fast
It's probably just distilled water
If you cant get a screen clean with iso thats a skill issue. It cleans any glass perfectly every time.
I use water... No joke... I just use a damp cloth 😂
