This is an extremely useful feature, this wonder-button. I've been using it for years on both the iPad and iPhone, and I can't imagine using these devices without it. I have deeply customized it to my needs. A long press on the button takes a screenshot. A double tap on the button turns the screen off. And in the menu of this button I can adjust the volume, bring the Notification Center, Control Center, multitasking, restart the iPad, bring up Spotlight from anywhere, etc. This is especially handy if you have a device with a large screen.

Same, Android has a similar feature and I always used it. Now on iPhone i love how you can customize it. I have mine set up the same way as you! Double tap to lock and hold for screenshots 😁
I use an apple iPad and have been trying to make the menu appear which I mean the little black circle and whenever I turn on Assistive touch it doesn’t appear do you know if I should check anything or change anything so it appears?

This isn’t talked about much. Just discovered it and I’m obsessed.
Just wondering if a feature under assistive touch can get one to the app switcher? I notice a lot of my customers have a problem doing the swipe up and hold to get to the app switcher and could use an easy shortcut to that feature.
Nice bit of learning, perhaps you could get the assistive touch button to turn off the highly distracting background music on Apple teaching videos.

Assistive touch works best on iPhone Se or iphones with home button.
Now it's assistive touch is only useful if you don't wanna press your power button to lock/unlock your phone.
It’s flawed with camera controllers
Tried setting to position on the camera button (for landscape mode) & after pressing the button it goes back to the button left corner
Please make a 3D animation app to your phones please that’s all I ask. please can you do it?
Some time ago I was able to add these functions to my iPhone's assistive touch:
double-tap: Wifi off
long press: Bluetooth on off
But when I try to add those same custom actions to my brother's new iPhone, I cannot find these functions under 'shortcuts' list. Can you help?

I wish there was an assistive touch function that mimicked the 2 finger swipe backwards/forwards on ipad with magic keyboard. Trying to go backwards on a 6.1” screen is nearly impossible one handed!!!!!!

Is there a button for the top layer of the iPhone? Or a way to fix that? I can’t tap anything on top since my phone cracked

I have an iPhone 11 & have assistive touch on for screen shot. Love having that on my screen at all times. But I have a problem. When I want to download a new app from the App Store it wants me to confirm with Assistive Touch? I do not know how to do that, lol I thought perhaps I could touch the button but nothing happens. So I turned off Assistive Touch so I could download the app & still get the same message. Help please
To turn off Confirm with AssistiveTouch, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch, then turn off the Confirm with AssistiveTouch option at the bottom.

Adding spotlight to this feature has made using an iPhone so fast. You spotlight instead of clicking through apps for a better experience.
Is there any reason this shouldn’t work it won’t appear for me
I wish there was a way the button disappeared when we didn’t need it and we could just do something that makes it come back fast. Like a hot corner or back tap. Button stays on screen even during videos etc dimming too much makes it hard to find. We need a fast easy way to make it pop on screen and off. Thanks
You could create a toggle assistive touch on and off shortcut and then attach that shortcut to a back tap. Tap the back, run the shortcut, and then use the assistive touch.

How do i make it stop moving by itself? Can i anchor it?
For the love of baby jesus Apple can you PLEASE make an assistive touch button that does not move itself to the bottom gray area near the keyboard after i purposefully move it away? When i type anything, i accidentally hit the button about 12 times and have to sort through the constant opening of the app switch feature! Then you accidentally click on anopen tab/app while trying to text and then accidentally click links etc before closing the app switcher abd resuming your text. I drag it away from the keyboard about 57 times per day and boom- it moves itself back! Back to the absolute most inconvenient location right where my thumbs hang while i type. Its absolutely maddening. I cant swipe up like a normal person and the assistive touch is always near the keyboard no matter how many times i move it up

Oh my, what a complex series of controls. None of the actions seem attractive to me. They all seem like Solutions in Search of Problems.
Oh sure, if I watch this video dozens of times, maybe I could master this. But why?
One fundamental issue here is that icons are terrible for communication. How many times does any novice need to practice to internalize what the plus symbol means, only in this specific context? Likely a couple dozen. Then, how likely is that novice to retain and apply that information the next time they need to apply it, say 2 months from now?
