I disagree with the load management take. Adding the 65 game limit to the awards and All NBA teams, forced star players to not skip games. But I agree that the regular season is way too long, and the widening gap between NFL and NBA viewership has only underlined that more. And the 3 ball has turned the product more and more into baseball, where a lot of the legacy features of the game (midrange creativity, physical play, monster dunks) have been devalued.

another option would be to shorten the amount of playoff teams
if we are being honest no 7 or 8 seed is gonna win it all
just make it top 6 teams
this would cause an ergancy to win games in the regular seed

Era if player entitlement, young generations with different viewing habits and more entertainment content in general. The 10 min CZcams highlights is a great product. Number of games has to drop. I think baseball is most resistant, because old school metrics are considered sacred (and the money loss). Even NFL is hard to watch. Comparing 70s CZcams games to today's, too many commercials and ref reviews. Basketball and baseball have had a drop in quality of play. The long ball brought chick fans in the 90s, but it makes baseball boring. Stop blowing arms out with every kid needing a 100 mph fastball. Football is stuck in Coryell, West Coat and/or Spread. Anything claimed to be innovative in the NFL is not. It was done in 1950, but fans don't know it. AFL brought in innovation, and Rozzelle embraced it, but there hasn't been a Rozzelle in a league since (most important man in NFL history). I notice the NFL doesn't change rules to open offenses, they just enforce them differently, like Stern/Silver. Everyone knew about the Mel Blount rule before 78, but the Ty Law rule, which allowed Manning to finally win the big game, didn't have the same awareness. People liked the CFB style of play, so the NFL tweaked itself to enable it (O-line allowed to get away with more to give QBs more time, max PIs). I feel NFL games are Groundhog Days, but the refs, like in the NBA, keep games close, so fans don't tune out in the 3rd quarter.

Tanking kills ratings. Awful teams that are trying to be bad. Who wants to watch them? Solution: get rid of the draft. Stop rewarding mediocrity

Follow european football. Whatever games that is, make sure number one on the table get rings. Make regular season means something. Get rid of play off. That way you dont have load management, you have every stars putting their best on the line. the number of games dont matter because innately they only play for 1 extra home game as 1st seed, that’s the only prize? Why would you give your all 😂

The NBA is washed right now … too many players from the US are great athletes but have no basketball iq to grow and expand their games. Euro players find this league too easy, is why they are dominating now. Case in point, The Denver Nuggets, the most stable and the best chemistry in the league are on their way to back to back championships, if you compare them to prior NBA champions in the past who have won multiple titles in their run, these Nuggets would be very low on the list. Not impressive at all, despite the Joker being on the team. NBA is trash right now 🤷🏻
