as someone who started magic playing mono green, it fills me with joy to know one of my favourite CZcamsrs also started magic playing mono green. awesome deck joey keep up the great vids
I started with a green/black deck, but it had Ghalta so it counts for me! Green is a great color to start with, it is simple but can get so crazy, with so many ways to grow and upgrade. It and red are probably the best beginning colors, but I don't know any Magic players that want to help make another mono-red player!

29:45 If you would have mutated onto one of the Pelt Collectors you would have destroyed the Banishing Light and when Yorvo came back you would have gotten Pelt Collector triggers still and then swung for 8 instead of 6.

Dude! Found your channel about 2 weeks ago! You’ve made me a much better MTG player already! Mono green was my first deck as well so I made a few modifications to your deck and played in FNM Cascade tonight. WHAT A BLAST! I wish I could post a pick of my last game where a BGW deck tried to go wider than my deck and lost miserably.
Joey, gotta get 2 Ozolith in there to collect all your counters then when you get something to stick against control decks you get a huge beasty!

coppied alot of this deck but added a few different cards due to not having enough wild cards, crystalline giant is an awesome addition specialy when mutated on ! its working perfectly, keep up with the content :)

I made a mono green that has all the same cards but I switched a starrix for a questing beast. Switched the great henge out for the other Vivian/nissa. This is a great mono green deck.
You can turn lands into mutates with three counters built in.

This is why I love green so SO much, it just has so many cards that say "deal with me or you die"
Mutate is the card on top plus the abilities of the bottom card that’s why stonecoil is no longer an artifact once a card is mutated over it.

I have a similar deck built around Ozolyth. Its performing really well! Stonecoil is such a boss.

Excellent tech! I love it. Very tuned to the meta. Kinda weird to have a 3rd copy of the great henge on the side and I'm not in love with the preservers. Also shout out to the green gods, both are pretty good 'tho Rhonas is better when you can search him out so maybe a copy in the side to go fetch with Vivien's ult. Nylea is just very hard to deal with. What I would do is switch the preservers for Nylea and the questing beast you have in the side, switch around the great henge in the side for a Rhonas and that frees up a space in the side that I would use for a loaming shaman. Did you do anything different than what he did here. I've been struggling to get green over the hump.
Instead of double blocking dream trawler, just block 1 each with stonecoil serpents. Protection means the damage by dream trawler won’t be dealt, no life gain. You set yourself up for lethal next turn if you draw a land (unfortunately didn’t) since you had ceratops in hand. It would’ve been 13 exactly.

Scadoosh! Joey Moss, you crack me up! I watch your channel because I am brand new to magic and I am trying to build my first deck. I'm not interested in tournament play, just some friendly kitchen table games. I'm very interested in building my first mono green deck, but I need help. I have collected over 1500 cards so far, but I'm at a loss as to how to build a decent green deck. I'll take any suggestions or help you feel like offering.

Brother, I notice a lot of people are either missing or passing up a card that was reprinted in Ikoria, it's Lead the Stampede. It's great card advantage, especially for those grindy games, or just for when you need to start serving the opponent with some freshly baked threats. The card is 3 mana to play and can effectively at times put up to 5 cards potentially into your hand. Rare to happen, but not impossible if you know the golden rule considering Land Bases and Mana Dorks/Fetchers. For every two Mana Dorks added to the deck, you can remove 1 land. Running 4 Paradise Druid? Remove 2 lands which frees up a couple slots for a couple other cards. Just be sure to check your overall total CMC of the deck and divide that number by the number of cards in the deck, before lands are added, to know whether you can drop the land count effectively without worry. That deck has an average CMC of about 2.9167 (i.e. counting Henge as a 5 mana drop at the least most times during mid-game, and Serpent as 2 mana drops most times for early game when need be), which means you should be running 25 lands whilst running 24, though you could drop 1 land if you want and add something else because of the 4 Paradise Druid, you're already down 1 land. Could try it. Just be sure not to go above an average CMC of 3.039 and you should be alright running 23 land.
I made a mono green deck with auspicious starrix. And then decided to add some fun and threw in one embercleave one agent of treachery and one angelic gaurdian that only come out with starrix. And surprisingly they win me alot of games

That second match showed how really gritty this deck is. Mana screwed for three quarters of the match and still hung in there and won. Sometimes there's no beating cheap creatures, especially ones that can grow.
My first deck with magic was cutting my friends mono green deck and playing that (one perskn always got no lands/no creatures)

Ahhh yes, my first deck was mono green as well. 1994, and God's balls was it horrendous XD, but one of my first rares was Force of Nature, so I just had to play it.
you might look into adding wildwood scourge to this deck, for the starrix maybe, it synergizes well with all counters going to other creatures...

Mutate doesn't change or add to the creature type of the top card, it only adds all the text in the main box of abilities.

My first deck was a mono blue STASIS deck when I was a young nerdess. I made a few guys very mad.
This deck you are running should 100% run the ozolith. Boardwies effect are mitigated cause u keep all the counters for ur next creature. I use 3 in a selesnya proliferate deck
If your familar with very old Jeezy I keep King Kong in my trunk. Aka The great ape in the sideboard 😂
Would be nice to see more stats in Arena. Live, like number of available mana (as some stacked land cards are hard to count) for each color. After the game some stats like number of creatures played, damaged dealt, damage taken (creature/player/plainswalker), NUMBER OF TURNS, total mana spend (per color), etc.
How Mr. Moss has come a long way from 6 mana removal spells.....12 mana dragons.....5 mana Death-touch Goats.....From the most extreme Timmy on CZcams without question (massive margin) to closing in on his way to Johnny status.... sniffing a Spike.....a long way Joey.
Btw, if u have 2 cards in hand the same, and they have seen one, it doesnt matter which one you play / discard, it will always do the one they have seen, and keep the other one hidden :)

Hey quick question for everyone, what happens if I mutate a gemrazor onto a stone coiled serpent? If I put the gemrazor on top it being a 4/4, does it get the +1 counters from the serpent or yorvo
Hey Joey, i've been doing some looking around and wondered if you would consider making a menace deck? Ikoria added some cool support for it that makes it a very fun and interesting build to make and play with. Of course its not amazing, but I was wondering to see what you could do with the idea
