Mahalo Nui Loa for showcasing this huge problem. So many people don’t care about the impact they have, they only care about enjoying their vacation or selfishly wanting to sneak in invasive species. We also have a major issue with the government dropping funding for port inspections, which has led to not only invasive species introduction, but also a rise in the illegal pet trade, fireworks, drugs and even humans being trafficked in and out… whether or not certain officials are purposefully dropping funding and for what purpose and gain, I’ll leave you and any readers of this comment to ponder yourselves, but if you know the history of corruption amongst Hawai’i officials, I think the answer is obvious.

Great video. One of the reasons I enjoy hiking in Oahu is the island is 🐍 less. Hope it stays that way. I will do what I can. Thanks.

Thanks for always watching and glad you enjoyed it. I agree, I too am happy there aren’t no snakes or even bears in Hawaii

@thehiescapade oh someone said to that there are bores/wild pigs. Is that true? Should do a video on wild animals in OAHU. So hikers can expect what animals to run into if they exist . :)

@@thehiescapade Hello. Do you have any on Maui? I have been there only once but may go back

@@minc4970 oh yes! thanks for the suggestion. there are wild pigs and also goats that we come across on trails here. Most likely they’re scared of humans though.
I’m sure there are some predators in maui as well, can’t think of the top of my head

Why even allow them to sell non native pets?
