Hiking Hosmer Grove - Native bird heaven in Haleakala NP | Maui Hawaii

What can I say about Hosmer grove...HEAVENLY! This 0.6 mile loop is abundantly full of hawaiian native birds especially the i'iwi and amakihi! Enjoy this video of this amazing birding trail here in Haleakala national park.

I only saw non-native birds there when I was in Oahu. I'm glad you got into birding, it's expensive but a lot of excitement when you find a bird you haven't seen before. I'm currently tracking a nesting Bald Eagle, Barn owl and Great Horned owl. Other smaller birds are also starting to nest so it's going to be a fun spring birding

Unfortunately Oahu doesn't have much of the native birds just because it's so developed here compared to the other islands. That's awesome you get to see those kind of birds! Bald eagles are so beautiful
