- Sonor HLD-590 10-Lug Cast Bronze! 27.7 Pounds of INCREDIBLE tone! Heavy bronze is amazing because it takes dark tones and projects it louder than you can get any other way.
This drum showed up sounding straight up unbelievable! Before popping some Evans on, I had to record some studio audio how this guy showed up. It might just be the best sounding snare drum I've EVER played.

I'd love a room tour of all your stuff, I know it would probably take about 8 hrs but I'd watch it dude, its such an impressive collection
Thanks!! Maybe I should do something like that soon! ...I've got a few really stellar things in the works, when they show up it'll make sense to do a giant tour type thing!
Sonor need to do more reissues.
They're pretty stubborn about this one :P
@@Snarea51 Aren’t they, though? The streamlining idea was fine, but don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
@@Snarea51They really are… no wonder Todd Sucherman left Sonor back in 99’.
Dude it’s been years since I watch you , you’re smooth , you were always nuts but something about yer wrists , very nice buddy
Dude! Thanks so much for the long-time support! I super appreciate it :)
Sounds as beautiful as it looks! What a lovely overtone to go with that nice crunchy sound
Thanks a lot! Yeah man, I LOVE this thing! :D
The HLD 590 is a BEAST... A real dream to own one.
Hell yeah, dude! I honestly never thought I'd actually end up with one of these - let alone three of them lmfao :p
@@Snarea51 Speaking of unicorns... I'm still trying to find an HLD 591 (same as the IKEBE?)
:D
@@Nicko_1976 there are less than ten of those that exist. As far as I know, my house might be the only place on earth with all four variations of this. Both 14x8’s (10 and 12 lug), the 14x4 and the ultra unicorn 14x6.5 all with the copper hardware. 🤤🤤🤤 …that 6.5 cost me nearly triple my car 😂😂😂
Wow! Beauty.
Bro! Love the Sonor sound, and that thing sounds killer, even with that old Remo ambassador on there! Personally I’d go Genera Dry from Evans, but any Evans head is gonna sound great on that drum!
Yeaaaaaah dude! This thing is magic! I still haven't brought myself to change the heads :p just soaking up the mojo from it's previous owner for a little longer. I have a pair of HD Dry's on hand for both of my HLD590's. I'm on vacation from Drumeo for two weeks starting next week, so I'll 'maybe' get 'em swapped over then sometime ;)
Isn't this Danny Carey's go to snare? That sounds soooooo good!!
Sure is! ;)
Apparently Travis Barker just snagged one of these as well. His drum tech posted it on IG the other day - instagram.com/p/C2VmwsYSbop/?hl=en
That drum is like butter! 🔥🔥🔥

Can you show how you do this noodleing around the drums 😁
Yeah man! There are plenty of lessons back in my upload history - probably a couple hundred videos on here. Or if you're a Drumeo member, I've got over a thousand lessons in their member's area. :)
@@Snarea51 for what search wörds do i need to look ?
@@raion9692 Just click my channel, there's about two hundred videos in there. And on Drumeo.com just search my name, I've got the most content of anyone other than maybe Brandon over there haha!
you should try a sound tailored Repercussion snare !
I’ve never heard of these 🤔 link?
They look neat! I dunno where that link disappeared to?
How much does this snare drum cost?
In this condition they go around $15,000 or so these days.
Do you think you’ll ever sell this? I’d love to buy it!
Maybe one day when I'm too old to lift it ;) haha! No... I'll probably keep this one for many many years... there's actually an even rarer version of this... I may or may not have one of which on the way heh heh heh...
The Tool Undertow snare.
;) Yeah dude! Danny's fave snare too!
That snare is the definition of "CRACK"!
😎😎
$8500! Sonor is such an overpriced brand. They are as bad as Sony TVs. DW, Pearl and some Tama kits are every bit as good, even better in some instances.
Tama's 50th anniversary Superstar all birch kit slays any Sonora all birch kit I've heard.
By the way Aaron, great sticks.
Btw., sonor didn't make the prize. The collectors want and pay that amount of money!
@@rockdahaus You are right Rock. But with mid level kits like Yamaha, Pearl, Ludwig and DW offer, you wonder why any of us would pay 5 times as much for a kit that is better, but not 5x better.
Talk about birch kits, have you listened to the Yamaha Stage Custom. Of course you have. Spending 7x more on a Sonor is somewhat questionable after you've heard those.
$720 for a 4 piece plus snare or an 8 piece for $1400.
An 8 piece Sonor kit without snare, for what, $12000? Yeesh!
@@user-yq5od9uj3f what's better, is a personal feeling. I like sonor, i played many other brands kits. Nothing is like sonor for me... but then, i don't like the sound and feel of a sonor kit if someone else tuned the drums. And in a mix, you can't hear the difference.
I own a 800 bugs kit, i own a 3k bugs kit.
With the right tuning, in a mix? 1 in a million is maybe able to hear a difference. Determine which one the cheaper one is? No chance!
@@rockdahaus You're right Rock. As drummers there is no way of pricing that feeling of connection to your kit tuned to your sound perfection. It's priceless.
That is of course you can afford. LOL.
