    What's crazy is how absolutely hard he plays.... Usually the faster and more technical you become, the more balance and softer your strikes become if that makes sense, sorry I'm bad with English. He's one of the fastest drummers alive yet plays so damn hard, beating the hell out of the drums.

    Dominator is frigging amazing!😍That's a real treat watching him in action. I have seen him in concert with Dark Funeral..I left each show floored.

    Glad to hear your analysis of his work, I'd like it if you also checked Nils on the song "Celestial Deconstruction" as it's not his own song, he was a stand in for the original drummer for the band 1349.

    And down into the rabbit hole we go..
    Nils Dominator Fjellström - Dark Funeral - Hail Murder (Drumcam)
    - an absolute sonic assault
    Kai Hahto - Obey
    - Mr. Hahto in his old outfit Rotten Sound, grindcore with a groove!
    Sinä et ole yhtään mitään - Timo Häkkinen drum cam (Sotajumala)
    - Clean deathmetal with a fistful of hate, from Finland
    Hellhammer - Kinetic (Soundcheck Drum Cam)
    - one of my all-time favourite drummers, maybe not the best video. Jan Axel Blomberg (here with Arcturus) demonstrating some dynamic drumming
    Hellhammer-Crystallized Pain in Deconstruction(Drumcam)
    - same dude, different outfit. This track is from the album Grand Declaration of War which spawned a lot of outrage in the Black Metal Trve community but personally I like it. Shows a lot of the creatity in song structures and patterns.
    there are a lot more of fantastic drummers out there, but instead of giving a list of what everyone else reacts to, I wanted to go of the beaten path a bit.

    Dark Funeral are one of my all-time favourite bands.
    I saw them live in Melbourne on their last tour for their Where Shadows Forever Reign album tour. Freaking awesome! 🤘
    Please check out some Dissection from their 2nd album, Storm Of The Light's Bane. 😊

    JAMIE SAINT MERAT next! The tastiest and best drummer in extreme metal (along with Lord Marco, the most insane speed) 😎
    For JSM, something from Everything is Fire or Dead Oceans. Or any of his drum tracking oh God
    For Lord Marco... Hunhau mital creador y formador no triggers blindfolded playthrough! Or cenotes portal al Inframundo playthrough. Or a pretext to human suffering chain of command/oppression. Or Bleak Flesh unique Cosmic inaccuracy!

    Love your videos. While being reactions they're much more analysis than most of the analysis videos on youtube. Keep the great work.
    Would really like you to react to Billy Rymer from The Dillinger Escape Plan. There's little to no drumcams of him except for this video: czcams.com/video/QyI76KcrdEQ/video.html
    It's a part of a long interview so link is with a timestamp.

    Human flesh and bone doesn't move like this. Has anyone taken a DNA sample? Because I'm suspecting that there's some alien genetics involved.
    I need to swallow two xtra strength aspirin and two xtra strength Tylenol in the morning just to manage basic life (right wrist/hand have decided that they're "broken") . Sigh. I could hate him. But then, as I said, he just isn't human.

    It’s fast...it’s just not clean. There’s mistrigs but there’s also lots of spots where he’s just off. Personally I’d prefer a simpler rendition of the song like what’s on the album, but done much cleaner. This just sounds like he’s pushing his limits, which is cool at rehearsals maybe, just not on the road. Having said that - he is an awesome drummer. I’ve seen him play this live, but a simpler version that he nailed.

    Jamie St. Merat. Nils is really good. But in my opinion JSM is above and beyond Nils on so many levels.

    • @94e88
      @94e88 Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah, Jamie is a fucken beast. But I feel he lacks that straight up attitude of Nils, I mean Jamie's play style is in a completely different direction, he wouldn't fit Dark Funeral. But Nils wouldn't fit Ulcerate either. They serve a different purpose in their respective bands and play accordingly. Both are technically very talented and play incredibly fast for seemingly forever. But something I feel Nils has over Jamie is hand speed and power, Nils's tom hits are ridiculously fast and powerful, where as I feel Jamie has a little less power.
      But I really it's apples to oranges in this case.

    • @fatheremmons85
      @fatheremmons85 Před 3 lety +1

      @@94e88 Style wise, it is definitely apples and oranges. I just feel JSM is way more versatile of a player. Not bashing Nils bc he's a beast. I feel he focuses more on speed while Jamie focues focus's on all of the elements of the music while still playing fast, slow, etc. Both are very good though.

      @@fatheremmons85 JSM Drumming & Animations? That guy isn't even in same league with Dexcore's Reizi who can play a lot more complex stuff that JSM. Let's not even talk about comparing him to Jiluka's Zyean.

    I didnt really see anything outstanding , is he supposed to be some type of talent on the drums? If so i must be missing something because i saw nothing that was impressive in the video ?! .

    • @94e88
      @94e88 Před 3 lety +2

      Ah yes, nothing impressive about arguably one of the fastest technical players in all of music. And he does it live like it's not even hard.
      He really is that advanced that it seems almost effortless. But maybe you try what he plays? See how you do at it? I'm betting you don't last 2 seconds.
