Not being a drummer, I'm surprised that the drummers in these reaction videos always comment on Danny's dynamic control. I didn't realize what a unique aspect of his drumming that is.

I got to see Tool at st Charles Missouri in 2011. I was sat by myself on the second tier on the side just above Danny’s kit. It was amazing to be able to sit alone zoning to the music art and lights watching Danny’s extra tentacles come out on occasion lol. He’s not really an octopus he’s secretly one of the children of the elder gods like Cthulhu lol. I know this is an older video but I’m glad you’re a fan now. They did a video on Danny talking about his bronze kit and he plays lataralus at the end of it. It’s just mesmerising.

Danny is a master for sure. Completely underrated. Possibly the greatest drummer of all time. This is one of their simple songs.

Tool is a lot like how I felt listening to jazz fusion when I was young. Beyond 4 instruments in fusion, I would just be totally lost. As I got older I could decipher more and more within fusion and it is the same with Tool.
