Looking at these 3 distinguished gentlemen without knowing their backgrounds, one would never assume they're players of the heaviest instrument of the heaviest genre of music known to man.
Well he for sure is one of the best extreme metal drummers. Probably not very versatile, but very hardhitting, accurate and fast. So perfect for blastbeat type of metal.. like Behemoth, Belphegor, Marduk, Dark Funeral, etc...
I love how much of stans they both are of Nils. We all are but how they laugh and giggle every time he slams a fill is pretty great. They are just so blown away they feel like quitting drumming, and they are both fantastic haha. Great videos as always.
I'm a left-handed drummer just like Nils. I remember the first and only I've ever been lucky enough to see him live with Dark Funeral way back in Nov. 2007 in Montréal, QC, Canada at the Club Soda venue. Truly surreal experience. I hope to see more lefty metal drummers like myself and Nils appear live.
The extra weight and thickness does help w the momentum and therefor power at high speeds....personally tho I settled on x5A’s (Vic Firth) cuz for me the extra length and leverage eventually won out over the heavier thicker but regular length sticks....I get way more momentum and thus speed &control w the long boys....
Absolutely phenomenal Marthyn! Dominator is one of my favorite BM drummers along with Trym Hellhammer and Frost. Seeing him destroy that electronic kit is amazing.
I don't know anything about playing the drums, but my jaws dropped to the floor just by trying to follow that with two pens on my table. HOW on earth is that even possible...

I suggest to everyone to check out the band Aeon, which is the band that Nils used to play drums in before he joined Dark Funeral. Check out the Bleeding the False album. Absolutly crazy drumming!
At a certain time Nils was in both bands. I love his drumming either in Dark Funeral or Aeon. But we must not forget that when Aeon was offered to tour the US he turned his back to the other bandmates and decided to keep touring with DF :/
I got to open a show for Nils & his band in Spartanberg,SC and got to meet him only briefly. He is one of the nicest people I've ever met and so very tall..SO TALL..haha I want to blast like this so I will be studying Nils rigorously over the next 30 days. Thanks Marthyn!!
@@phftheebonidiot637 It's ok though, the venue owner got mad at the band I was filling in for drums, something to do with the vocalist, idk any details, and we got to play 1 song. haha it was still fun though.
@@jyvlii1828 Not really, since this is not a speed competition, it's more about technique, and I think this is as fast the Nils can go, which already is pretty insane.
LOL I would like to see this whole thing. Loved Nils when I started out as a drummer. Still think he is badass, tho I haven't really followed Dark Funeral that much. Not a favorite. But I remember I saw this tv interview in Swedish back in the day. He seemed like a very humble guy then and he still seem so today :) That's great.
Inviting Dominator was a great idea and it's surprising that he wasn't given enough credit for his drumming and involvement in music so far. Now, try talking Inferno into doing this kind of tutorial. THAT would be a significant achievement too ;)
Please, add subtitles. It's not only about your accent, which is absolutely specific (understable, but is not easy to hear), but about kind of Nils speech - I heard that, but its hard to recognize all of the sentence's parts for foreign listeners. Still sophisticated and unique video - thanks for this, and for tips from you and all of your guests! :D

Those heavy sticks help with speed. I for sure struggle with playing as fast with lighter sticks.
