I think what makes the western system in this case better is the lack of aliveness with which Kendo practitioners train (under Kendo ruleset). No clinch or ground and too many rules. Not necessarily the weapons of choice. Nice video I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope you make more.

Excellent as always, we need more videos like this one! But I recommend sparring against a practitioner of Kenjutsu, not Kendo (Kendo is more sportive with many rules and regulations).
My own instructor mentioned that Kendo has issues with our big cross-guards and short-edge strikes. This perfectly illustrates it. I'm wondering what the skill levels are between the two opponents. Equally matched?

Whatever ，Kendo guy wasn't the top part of that event ，but Anto must be a master of HEMA，its not proper to declare HEMA is better than Kendo。
