Okay hear me there was a trailer in the state of play the one before this that they showed a vr trailer and at the end they showed an eye opening with the same gadget that ada has in the trailer so they referenced back then but we didn't know that go check it out and come back to me. . . . Forgive me if I’m wrong but, that second verdugo, in the remake, wasn’t that enemy referred to as U-3 or “it”. There was a note in Salazar’s Castle that discussed the final transformation being U-III where as I think the verdugo was considered U-II maybe, it’s a bit of a fog I have to go back and read the notes but maybe that second verdugo will transform into U-3 towards the latter half of the game. I could be wrong though. But even if I am I don’t know how they are going to cram all of these iconic set pieces and battles. Sky lift gondola, laser corridor, possibly a Krauser interaction, Saddler phase one fight, U-3 encounter, and Wesker possible fight all in a shorter adventure. I’d be impressed if they do. Can’t wait for this DLC.
I never actually found the note myself and am going off descriptions I read ages ago with my own foggy memories. I think the Verdugo is U-II and it's believed to turn into U3, which was 'It' in the OG RE4, at some point in the DLC, but I'm not 100% sure at this point myself. I've looked into a few of the usual leaker twitter threads in recent days and apparently the DLC's supposed to be 8-9 hours long by itself. If it has the runtime of basically an entire other RE game, that definitely lends itself to having all of the bigger set-pieces and boss encounters in it without feeling rushed or overly-busy.

They may have been misrepresenting from the original separate ways which was about 3-4 hours. But wow, if that’s the case 8-9 hours, that definitely justifies the $10 price, that I would happily pay to experience the badassary that is Ada’s gameplay. And if you need help finding that note where U-3 was discussed, I believe it’s in Salazar’s throne room, the same room where he drops you in the death pit with the Novistadors, if you make your way back to that throne room I think there is a note discussing U-3 but I could be wrong though. I’ll have to go back and see. Because I know that where you fight Verdugo in the underground section there definitely is a note that talks about U-2 transformation being of course the Verdugo.
Tbh both of the remake Tyrants were scripted as hell. They only showed up in a handful of areas, were absent for most of the game, would actively teleport/blitz around at super speed off-camera to get closer to you at certain points in the game, and had really hard leash points you could see in action. Mr X's most notable one is in the NEST labs where he busts in after you douse Plant 43. He will immediately lose aggro on you once you've gone through the room with the Ivy in it and you cannot get him to regain it unless you walk back into the lab area. I tested it pretty extensively on one of my playthroughs and you can legitimately keep dancing back and forth through the door in full line of sight with him and he won't attempt to come after you if you're an inch over his leash point in the labs. There's a lot of stuff like this with both of them where they try to give the impression you're in constant danger with them around, but if you're a bit brave you can really easily see the strings on them and the man behind the curtain, so to speak.
It ain't cut then it's just repurposed, They Added new stuff into remake 4 and the stuff they took out of it is adding to Adas Seperate ways to make it (at least how it seems) much more packed with quality content for her cause OG Seperate ways was kinda bare bones. We shall see in a few days tho, Lazer room,gondalla and if U3 is truly in will make more sense with Ada then it ever did with Leon anyways
