Britain "caused" (maybe jumpstarted is better?) the great depression because a shit load of british investors pulled out of american stocks at the same time. Granted, our stock exchange was set up pretty fragily, but the fact they tried to do a similar thing again with brexit is astounding to me.
The main reason for Brexit was to curb mass immigration which is completely fucking our and the rest of the EU's cities. Unfortunately, we didn't account for having retarded politicians, and we have quite literally left the EU but remain in EU institutions that keep hurdles at controlling out borders. Literally the worst of both worlds
Good video. You're videos have definitely gone up in quality over the past year. But I'd be remiss not to mention, it always warms our hearts to know that, from the average bloke to the most posh scholar, y'all are still salty over losing the Revolutionary War. 😀
Revolutionary war was British people in red vs British people in blue matey, I'm not sure who peddled the idea that we are salty but you know damn well it was an American. Oh, other than the opportunism I suppose. Karma came in 1812 though so not really
@@jamieeddolls5605 We don't even think about 1812. No contemporary american man remembers it, except as a chapter in a history book. There was a popular song written about the Battle of New Orleans though.
I didn't vote Leave because I think we're a massive world power capable of surviving on our own, I voted Leave because I didn't want our laws dictated by a foreign power that viewed us as an outsider to begin with. And I didn't expect our lives to be better either, I knew it would be difficult, but I see it as a positive to gain independence from a foreign power who viewed us as nothing more than a place to steal resources from and send migrants to. Not to mention the fact that we never even voted to join in the first place. I live in the North, I don't want to be ruled by Westminster never mind fucking Brussels.
But British politicians didn't impose the 90 day rule on us; the EU did. Brits get 180 days in Mexico, a country that the UK has almost no diplomatic ties to, and is even further away than the US. Goes to show that the EU is just penalising us for leaving.
@@jazzercise7800 Yeah but that's the EU's rule not Westminster's. By neither granting us an exception nor a grace period after leaving, they made it unnecessarily awkward for everyone. And if Brussels hadn't been so uncooperative throughout the whole thing, I'm sure Westminster would've negotiated a Norway style relationship with the EU, permitting free travel, without being subject to their jurisdiction.
American Cuisine for the most part is delicious (when it's not cross combine). You have Creole/Cajun the heart of Louisiana cooking. American BBQ is where Americans become philosopher on what makes a good BBQ. Buffalo Wing, Philly Cheesesteaks, PB & J, Grilled cheese, Fried Chicken, New York Pizza, Costco Hotdog, Cheeseburger, and Soul food. Pecan Pie with Vanilla with ice cream, Red Velvet cake, Carrot Cake, Peach Cobbler, and Golden Chick Rolls is best pastry for American standards
@@Minebrawlzzzone of the few things I actually like about living near Houston, TX is the amount of amazing ethnic cuisine available, it’s super varied and you can find almost anything
As an American, despite what America is today, it's crucial to remember our deep roots in British heritage. Nearly all of our founding fathers had ancestries from Britain, and without England's achievements, the United States as we know it wouldn't exist. From colonial settlements to the dominant Anglo-American culture that stood for more than 100 years since independence, America originally stood out as a true offspring of Britain.

Don't worry, they blame the French, not you...
Revolutionary war was British people in red vs British people in blue matey, I'm not sure who peddled the idea that we are salty but you know damn well it was an American. Oh, other than the opportunism I suppose. Karma came in 1812 though so not really
@adrien5834 never would have happened without the colonials or the French wdym
@@jamieeddolls5605 We don't even think about 1812. No contemporary american man remembers it, except as a chapter in a history book. There was a popular song written about the Battle of New Orleans though.

Damn, that Brexit analogy hit hard as someone who has genuinely never left Michigan for more than 90 days consecutively😅
"British - American Study" is probably my most interesting subject I studied in college.
New Geopold video is pretty much like "dinner is served" because now I don't have to find what to watch for a TV dinner.
As a brazilian im proud of not being french
Geopold gotta do a video on Africans vs African Americans. That’d be fire fr 😂
zero similarities btw
YES!!

Real talk @geopold, make a video on what good places are left on the planet. We’re running out of options.
But British politicians didn't impose the 90 day rule on us; the EU did.
Brits get 180 days in Mexico, a country that the UK has almost no diplomatic ties to, and is even further away than the US.
Goes to show that the EU is just penalising us for leaving.
No, you just have the same amount of time as everyone else now. Pretty much everyone only gets 90 days in the EU.
In addition, you also have all the other foods that immigrants from different nations bring to the US.
Every country has good food
@@jhancock269 Of course, because cuisine is part of culture of the country.

1:49 I've never understood why people treat foamy beer as a sign that you don't know how to pour. I'm pretty sure in many European countries you're supposed to let the foam rise, as it enhances the taste. Pouring in a way that doesn't produce much foam is more of a preference thing at best and impatience at worst.

I'm from New Orleans and went to Scotland a couple of years ago. I swear when I mentioned where I was from the Scots really wanted to see how we'll I could handle my liquor. 10 or so drams of whisky later I proved my worth and am proud to call those crazy people my friends
2:03 Nah, more than the mountain region of North Carolina is deep south. You can include the bottom half of NC as deep south by like a sliver.
Things might have changed but I grew up in NC decades ago and moonshine was certainly done locally in the area by the old timers in the southern area of NC.
eastern kentucky too, with pockets across the rest of the state. im from around the middle and this one guy from the area made moonshine by the truckload. his applepie stuff was the best alcohol i've ever had.

The same thing happens with Latinos born in the US, although being on the same continent, border restrictions cause them to have a stereotypical view of what Latinos are, which bothers those who are native.
