Doesn’t look like you can use the external mic with the tripod adapter?
You can if you reverse the tripod adapter. It May look a bit awkward, but it does work.
You said there was an app for the phone but didnt say what app.???

I bought it a week ago (hdr-as200vt). It exceeded my expectations. I got mine for 230€ and it comes with few mounts, lens protection, remote control and two batteries.
My SD card is SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB (I bought it for 21€).
Well done and professionally review thank you we have several Sony action cameras a nice feature is that you can connect several cameras to the remote and shoot and operate the same time the worst thing with this model are that the tripod adapter covets the external microphone jack 🤢
I’ve actually had good luck by turning the tripod adapter around enabling me to plug in a microphone while using a tripod.

Would be a great camera, but no screen is a deal breaker for me.

Older camera, yes indeed, BUT still a great little camera that records superb video imo.
