Big D are you selling the equalizer that your video started with
I had a MA 4000 2 channel from the same era. I didnt care for the way it sounded so i sold it.
Dropped ya a few bucks big d, man u ever dynoed a a jbl gto 7001? I've wanted so see what that thing really does , had it running my xfl12 and upgraded to 2200rms and it was louder but not as much as I expected, so I KNOW it was pushing WAY more than the rated 700
ill send you a few bucks for that old school Kenwood EQ lol !
I would like to see you test jl audio 1000/1 amp to see how much watts its pushing but dont do the v2 do the original 1000/1 jl audio
I used to be an MA audio dealer. This was a promotional piece. MA told me only 250 of these were ever made. It never had an msrp. When I made an initial buy-in to sell the product they offered it to me. It was around $400 cost with the buy in around $6500 for all the products.
I would be shocked if 250 were actually made. It had an MSRP in the 2002 CA&E directory. Promotional piece explains why they didn’t pump it, I guess...
Wow $400 cost? I don’t think you could build that thing for $400. Looks like it has $200 worth of aluminum in it! 🤪
@@mobileprosnevada3922
400$ cost "If you buy 6500$ worth of their other garbage". Really though if you add up the cost of two 2 channel amp boards + a cheap 30 band EQ the only expensive thing is custom tooling on the heatsink and top plate. It's a shame nobody makes these big surfboard multi-board multi-channel amps anymore though.
@@hispls MA Audio was not junk. smdh
yeah its a show amp
Daaaaaaaaam, Big D! You be coming up with some fire! Made my Monday night! 😍
Love, love, love when you bring such a rare amp as this! spend more time on this thing for sure. Too cool, Big D!
Strap that puppy up to the dyno!!!!
@Brad Viviviyal Leave grammar alone.

@@wal lol 1 step ahead of you. Already watched! Thanks for another great video! BIG DUMMY!!!! 😁😁😁😁
MA audio was in it to win it in the late 90's and early 2000's. They had all kinds of crazy over the top gear. This has to be the craziest of them all.
cant wait for he dyno. once again. thanks again for the ard work, and that retro install looks badass man
Just got myself a ma audio m600xe off ebay last week and still awaiting shipping. What a coincidence you posted this video now cause I don't recall you having anything ma audio on your channel before :D
that is a beast my buddy had it in his blazer back in 03 it was crystal clear and pounded nice to see someone is doing a video on it
Love your stuff BigD
That thing is gorgeous! Kinda reminds me of the old rotary club mixers I used to use back in my club days.
This man loves giant amps!
BigDwiz gotta have a big amp lol.
And i cannot lie 😬
I'm sure it's not the only big thing he likes 😂
That's what the box said.
Let loose the KRAKEN!!!
So many people here in NFL thought MA audio wasn’t good & I’ve seen these amps all around & in pawn shops. & I’ve always known they were killer products & your video just reassured my thoughts
I been waiting on this!!!! I've had the chance to pick this exact amp up for a few years but things never worked out. So stoked
Man, that's an AWESOME setup!👍. I can't wait to see what it does!
It’s a little weaker than you’d think 🤔
Big D! Thanks for this channel. You've helped so many people in this field. I haven't been messing around with car audio in years and this channel makes me want to get back into. I have a p1000-1bd (older black+red model, not the newer black+blue ones) sitting around waiting for me to put something together and drop it into a car. If you ever need to Dyno one of those for some reason, I'd be happy to loan it. Thanks for all your efforts and keeping it transparent
Had a 1500w class d monoblock from this series of amps. Looked just like this but smaller with less potentiometers. It had the two vents with cooling fans and backlit meters. Also had chrome corners you can put on in case you didn't want to flush mount it. Made the amp look huge if you put the corners on. Used to win comps with it pushing 2 MA Audio XL series 12s in a pre-fab double bandpass pro-box. People hated that I would put them to shame with a pre-fab and some "no name" woofers. Lol. Early 2000s were fun.
Thank you for sharing this amp with us it is beautiful really want to see it on the dyno
Great looking amp. Thanks for the video!
Very interesting my brother. I don't recall ever seeing or hearing about that amp. Kind of surprising with all of its initial glory. Thanks for showing us man.
Yes!!!! Back in Bakersfield, Ca , there was a shop called car tunes, and it’s sister store called car audio pros, they were owned by two brothers, and they sold ma audio and cliff designs, back in 2004. And one of the brothers had this amp in a cut through Silverado powering a full cliff designs system, and the other brother had another Silverado blow thru with a full ma audio system with 2 huge 4000 watt subwoofer amps by ma audio. I wish I would have taken pictures back then. But the guy who had the 6 channel that you have said there were only a handful made for the guys who started the company. Not sure of the validity of his statements but it’s definitely a blast from the past for me, was the first time I ever heard anything by ma audio and he was rocking 8 sets of components and four 15”s off that beast. Super loud and clean. You are one lucky dude to have one!!! Can’t wait for the amp dyno!!
Love the look of the Clif Designs amps from around that time. The ones with the meters.
That is a monster Big 'D'🤯
Hey! I recognize that amp! (Thanks for the packing compliments!) ~ Mike T
Cool Amp
Incredible! I had an Ma Audio 12iL subwoofer that I beat on for 18 years before it let go. It was a sad day when i had to retire that beast. Can't wait to see what this amp does.
Can't wait to see the dyno on this amazing amp. It has equal bands to my DEX 99RS. Impressive!
It hangs all off my test bench 😊
@@wal hit us with that dyno test big d!

I love the old school stack in your dash takes me way back.
It’s been pulled out, old guy before me did this install
@@wal I kinda figured it came with the car its nice to see that old tech from when I was in HS . Love your channel man 👍 best out there
Can't wait to see you investigate this thing a little more
Love all the videos you big dummy haha. Definitely want to see a dyno of this amp and see what's up with the 2500w rating.
The fact that that thing exists is so awesome!
Now, that's what I'm talking about!!! I can't wait to see that bad boy on the dyno. I forgot all about these things, I do briefly remember hearing about them. I've always been a sucker for the amps that could run your whole system. I can't wait to see more on this and now you have me wanting one. :)
Sweet amp Big D! Love the install on the hot road! lol
Crazy amp. Like the custom install at the end
Custom crap install 👈😜
Thats really cool. Love seeing rare amps.
What a beast! !! Very cool!!
Wow!!! What a beast!!! Can’t wait to see that on the dyno!!!!!!
I think the bark is worse than the bite, but we’ll see...
1800 watt MA audio amp with the digital volt meter was one of my favorite amps back in the day i wish ma was still around
That amp is huge! And very beautiful!!
I agree! Not many around and this one is mint!
Just noticed the writing on your shirt in this video. I live less than 10 minutes from that beach. Love your content. I grew up in the old school car audio generation. Orion hcca,nt,Cobalt, they were all awesome to us back then.
Can't wait to see you what that big boy does on the dyno....... thanks for the teaser of your blue Ford
czcams.com/video/vKpJ82BClgA/video.html
DYNO THAT BEAST. I knew what it was as soon as I saw the picture that amp with a single MA hardcore 15 and some super sweet 2 ohm component set was a sweet setup back in the day that amp is a monster and the full blown EQ board made it all yhe more outragous. I wanna say that amp was like $2k plus when they released it.
Big D man, you can do no wrong !!! Can't wait for the dyno....
My wife may disagree 👈😜
O yea, I like it. That's my kind of setup right there. All the power you need and tunability with those 30 band EQ's. My first full setup was in my 1985 Honda CRX. Used a Sony ES XM-7557 (big red) hidden in the spare tire well. It was a tight squeeze even after making more room with a large hammer.
I have a big red, thing is a monster
@@caraudiopro4841 Cool! Mine worked great for the 12+ years I had it. I should have kept it. Curious to know what it would really do on the BigD dyno. Always thought it was a bit underrated.
That amp is beautiful wow I’ve never saw one like thAt what a gem!!!!
I haven't seen one of those ma audio amplifiers in years yes big d wiz please Dyno
I rocked a MA Audio HC4002 "4k" amp back in college. Sounded good, inefficient as heck, overrated .. but looked so sweet :)
There ya go 👈😊
I got one of these right now in my garage 4K 2 channel
I have 2 synergy series 1100rms class x sub amps amps from this era still pounding strong. Digital displays still work and everything. I worked at an MA shop back then and didn't appreciate them until they never died...
Seen a lotta amps before but I didn't even know this was even made... WOW🖒🖒
Oh please oh please test this beast!!!!
Definitely want to see the amp dyno on this amp!!
I never knew that was a thing. Looks beastly.
I ran a MA Audio hk series years ago and its one of those I wish I kept...they were a reasonably priced option in my area back then
That's gotta be the nicest looking amp ever, I need something like this to make my install pretty
I think it looks really cool too. Just needs some bigger VU meters !
Love it!
I remember MA Audio stuff from the early 2000's. cant wait to see the results from this. Is there any chance the Memphis Belle will ever hit the dyno?
i had the memphis bell 5 ch back in the late 90's great amp
Now that is a old school install if I even saw 1!
Ya I'd love to see it dyno'd as well as more ma audio products
My first set up had 2 ma 10s, claimed 600 watts peak each but never had a model number on them but they sounded decent in the prefab bandpass box I got them in
I got an ma audio hc1002 running 2 alpine type r 12s at the moment it sounds great.gotta love them old school amps.
I used to have that pyramid eq/booster back in the day with pyramid 6X9s
From the thumbnail I thought it was an xtant
Lol I thought the exact same thing. :-)
Same here, although intellectually I knew Xtant never created an amp that size.
Same
Me too. I thought.. Xtant?!.. It still works?
That thing is insane!
Dude I had that kind wood Amp. When I saw it I was like my amp. How cool is that. It was like seeing an old friend.
That thing is massive, love them oldschool amps and subs
Won’t fit in some trunks it’s so big!
@@wal its almost like the McIntosh MC4000M we installed at my old job, went inside of a Navigator. Had to make a custom enclosure in the back floor and mount 2 Xtant subs where the spare tire would be
First impression, Massive and I like the lip that runs along all the sides so you can flush mount it...
Love it so much had to watch it twice
🤣🤙
Wayyyy back in high school days
I remember seeing one of these in a conversion van
Hey big D this thing was advertised in a lot of European car tunning magazines i can confirm that,i believe around 2003-2004 and I used to dream about having this beast one day 😅
In today's episode BigD finds the Ark of the Covenant, that indie Locked away. 😂
probably the nicest piece from them
Big D depending on performance or maybe regardless of it, you should use that MA amp for something! It's too cool not to play with lol.
I have an MA audio 30 band EQ and love it
Visonik had a limited version as well but it is sad the the group closed shop shortly after and everything was very hard to find
Absolutely
Awesome!
That sucker is huge, sweet gauges too ;) I remember seeing this one pawn shop off interstate 35 that was all 8:45 Pyramid sponsored, 20k sqft store , same day installs, tint, custom sub boxes and $2 taco plates! Early 90's
Where do you get this insane stuff at?! Legends of car audio again? Lemme guess you got it at the gettin place😂
Kenos is here in Santa Fe Springs Ca. That’s about 20-25 from Los Angeles. They just do refurbs.
It spell checked me.... Kenon.
I had a Few MA-Audio amps, the HC-4002 and the Digital brother, the HK-4000D, both where awesome amps, and yes, I was drooling over the COM1 :P
Dang, I had one of those old Kenwood EQ's 20yrs ago. I miss that interesting stuff. Also had one of those Radio Shack 40+40w Boosters. Worked well.
Worked at a car audio shop for a minute there was one of rhose on the wall. Never heard it play. But it was huge
Looks really cool, would love to have it rack mounted in my home!
Awe yeah!
I don't see that much from M/A anymore. That's a beautiful piece!
I think they went belly up about 10 years ago
Well when you said something cool was "in the box" you weren't joken. That sure is a lot of knobs to play with lol Can't wait to see the dyno. Thanks for the video.
For sho
That amp is crazy dude!
Like yo ex-girlfriend crazy? 👈🤣
Well let’s see it in action!!
Way to give everyone blue balls Big D! lol, great vid and sweet amp!
Please put that beast on the dyno. Must be great for a SQ set up. I used to have that Kenwood EQ. It did pretty good. I used it as a crossover since I didn't like the crossovers I had on the amps I was using at the time.
Hell yeah MA Audio!!!!!!
Retail was $3500
@@wal
Damn....... that's expensive.....
I tell you what though when I was 16 when my father was alive he bought me a pair of MA audio XE 12 dual 3 ohm if I remember. We went to Walmart and got me a bandpass Box R/T series. I was supposed to use them when I got my first vehicle but got carried away and install them in my house lol. my neighbor was cool as hell he came downstairs he's like yo what the hell do you got in there and I showed him he was like holy shit!! Are those car subwoofers?? I'm like yep, my dad help me get them:) I'm going to be 30 in December so yeah good ol days......
Such a unique amp. I agree about the Vu meters... Like the size of the venting.
Unique and interesting amp imho
@@wal I thought it was house equipment to start.
Surfs Up 🏄🏽♂️🌊 Love the VU meters & it’s half ohm rated that is crazy !!! Looks like a huge dual VCR player like my grandma used to have 😂
Tune into Tokyo 📻
I have a 2 channel version of it it's huge
Can’t wait to see it on the dyno ..
the cost! yes they did advertise it and if I'm not mistaken it was in mobile electronics dealer magazine back in 02 or 03
I’d love to see the Ad, can’t find it
Audiobahn and MA audio not my my style but interesting
A friend had a MA amp like this but no EQ ALMOST SAME SIZE.,
GOOD FIND BIG D..
Yeah I remember this bad boy. Here in Fort Worth Texas we have a wholesale warehouse that sells car audio and they MA
The bigger the better! I have a couple MA amps I'll be selling in the near future, but I honestly have never seen or heard of this one. I have always desired the PPI PC650 and Zapco AG 650/Reference 650 as SQ full system amps. They are somewhat rare, but this one must be like a unicorn.
Yes to more please
OMG THE INSTALL ON THAT CAR REMINDS ME OF WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND TRYED TO INSTALL A STEREO LOL
Be kind, the old guy didn’t know what he was doing 👈😬
Hook up that com 1 in the Ford! Four different EQ's to mess with.
When I was looking for an amp 11 years ago I was interested in buying a ma audio amp but the dealers would tell me not to buy ma audio they would say they were junk I have honestly never heard how a ma audio amp sounds but I’m curious of what this amp can do I have a ma audio 1286i that does not work as soon as I power it up it blows the fuses I’ve had it for 9 years just sitting in the garage
I love the hot road set up. Just need some color wire mesh loom to clean up wiring an you'll be golden
