- Welcoming the new Oris Aquis Date Upcycle to my collection :-D
I am so happy to see that Oris has now decided to showcase their PET plastic artistry on the dial instead of on the back of the watch (looking at you, Clean Ocean LE!)
What do you think about this watch? Does mixing literal trash and a luxury watch work for you?
I've spent the past couple of days thinking about the contradictions that meet in this watch and I am curious to see whether or not we get more cross overs like this in the future!

Thank you for watching!
Jenni ❤️
Its the dumpster diver. Gotta love it.
Edit: congrats Jenni.
🤣🤣 that would have made a better video title !
That is hilarious!
You made me lol! Brilliant!
I love that there will never be 2 watches that are the exact same, and who doesn’t like the fact that Oris is making an effort to help in ocean conservation.
The impact of ocean conservation is very, very slim though. It's more of a marketing strategy.
@@shuabshungne8043 Most companies use this marketing strategy these days
@@clintr1751 ... true!

I think it’s fantastic.
I’m happy that Oris are still putting out watches with Selitta based movements at more affordable price points too.
Great enthusiast brand.
You want steel, they’ve got you.
Bronze no problem.
Tungsten bezel, no worries.
Recycled ocean plastics, yup.
In house movements, absolutely.
Great work Oris.
And don’t forget titanium I have the Aquis in TI and it the best thing ever
38 hour power reserve sucks.
@@erickobetitsch6055 yes that’s true but compared to the seiko 5 I had before it I’m happy with the upgrade for an affordable price I got what I payed for if I payed the full 3500 I get the real 400 cal so I’m my eyes they have something for everyone in the aquis line if you like the style to begin with
@@erickobetitsch6055 …..then you either keep wearing it….or if you can manage it you can actually wind it!!….go figure….

For a brand that gives a consumer what we actually ask for materials and features wise, has a rich history, and makes a fantastic tool watch, Oris is seriously underrated in America.
Not to mention that it is the last of the Swiss watch brands that is totally own and run by themselves and not Swatch™!
@@gbsailing9436 Best warranty in the industry!

I think the decision to go with the caliber 733 was to keep the price low and enable more sales.. possibly demonstrating Oris’ intent to upcycle as much as possible (in addition to not making it a limited addition) 🙂
Thank you for a great review!
It’s a beautiful watch, only overshadowed by your own, and suits you well. I love your new format. The lighting, editing and your sincere, in depth introspect on watches makes you my number 1 viewed watchthusiast channel. Enjoy!
I love Oris' new approach to watchmaking. 'Unique but not bespoke.'
Kind of like Rolls Royce with their wood veneer on the dash. No two are the same.
Its actually good to see Oris is still offering the Sellita movements in this one, not everyone who is interested in the environmental conservation effort is a watch enthusiast, and by offering this watch with the Sellita movement and therefore a lower price, Oris is able to offer this to a larger audience.
I’ve been saving for the Cherry Red Aquis, but soooo tempted to pick one of these up instead.
I’ve the exact same predicament!
Both beautiful watches
I love your enthusiasm and clever allusion to trash. Your comments about the older movement are spot on.
Congrats! Love Oris and the Aquis line. And yes, but was hoping they’d add the new movement.
Thanks for the great video! I watched this when it came out and just ordered myself an upcycle yesterday. I couldn't stop thinking about it. So excited!
Another great video! I love seeing a women’s point of view on watches. Oris makes great dive watches, you just can’t go wrong with an Aquis.
I'm over the moon you made a video on this and got one for yourself! I was obsessed with it the minute I saw the announcement but I wasn't sure if I was going to see videos on it and I love your reviews so it was a perfect match 🥰
Those dials are beautiful 😍
It's nice to see something different and environmentally friendly.
Congratulations on the purchase!
That beauty really fits you well, Jenni! Love that Oris do release their watches regularly in different sizes without compromising the core features of a watch (water resistance, design, clasp etc.). I own the 39mm "Clean Ocean Limited Edition" with the same material / structure just on the back of the watch and the beautiful aquamarin blue dial! Oris is still awesome value for money if you ask me. In terms of build quality and finish they're up to Omega levels imho. Enjoy!
Love it! Started looking more at ORIS recently in part because of videos like this. Great video. Well done. Thank you!
Amazed on how well this one fits perfectly for you Jenni!!
I love it. Beautiful use of recycled materials, and from the ocean no less. I don't own any Oris pieces, but I really like them a lot and this is another reason to do so. Well done video, Jenni. I really enjoy your offerings very much. Your videos make my day. Cheers!🙂♥️
i just acquired a aquis date relief with the anthricite dial......the bracelet is amazing. it's not as blingy as bracelets with polished center links. this watch surpasses my expectations and opened my eyes up to oris. they have a horological history yet they are not afraid to take some chances!
yess love to see oris more and more, this watch brand deserves more recognition! amazing value for independent rich history swiss watch
I love it 😍. Congrats on the purchase. Definitely one you’ll want to pick up in person and compare with the ones they’ve got in store.
Personally I’d like it in 43mm. The Aquis does wear smaller and the 43mm wears like a 41mm. Plus with a dial this beautiful I’d want it to be as large as possible. I hope they release it in the larger size.
That's lovely and (literally) unique; and you're right about the movement, but that would definitely move the price point.
I'd wear it.
The recycled dial is quite the statement.
I just started my watch collection and after watching many different watch-centric youtubers, I just wanna say: I LOVE YOU JENNIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I think the dial looks like an artist's pallet. It's pretty damn cool.
This honestly looks absolutely perfect for me. Now just need to sell my entire collection to buy one 🤣. But it's beautiful and that dial is so eye catching. They definitely knocked it out of the park, not sure if I still prefer the 65 though.
I wish I never got involved with expensive watches. All of a sudden I realized I could have bought a very nice car for the price of my watches. Just stupid.
@@rickjason215 When you have nice cars you wish you bought a nicer house. It’s a never ending cycle so just enjoy what we decided to go with :).
Congratulations on your purchase Jenni. It's absolutely stunning. Fantastic concept and beautifully executed
Your editing is ON POINT JENNI.
Kudos to you for appreciating uniqueness in watchmaking rather than just perceived prestige.
Really cool watch, Jenni! The dial looks like some kind of beautiful abstract art. I just got an Oris myself recently (an Artix GT), although I see an Aquis in my future possibly.. Great video as always! :-)
Jenni, congrats on the new addition to your collection. It’s a great watch with a very distinctive message. I love it!
Congratulations! The dial is really growing on me, and I agree that the bezel color truly compliments the wild patterns. It reminds me of Venetian paper, or those oil/water paintings. It would be awesome if it had the 400 movement, but it would ratchet up the price point a bit? Anyway, enjoy!
Great look at this super cool release, and good choice with the purchase. This is much cooler than the case back version they released. I understand the desire for the Caliber 400, but I'm appreciative they they kept it more affordable. I'm personally more likely to buy a "fun" watch if it's more affordable. I also point to the new Hodinkee Oris Diver 65 release with that Caliber. At US $3,800, some of the complaints I saw from a new owner are just unacceptable at the price point. When at that level, the Tudors come into play, and I know there is no question on their quality. At that point, the only advantage to the Oris is the limited quantity, in my opinion. Obviously that's all some need to spend a lot of money, but I will note it didn't sell out instantly.
It's a great looking watch! Love the idea of upcycling... why not reuse what has been thrown away, giving it renewed value.
I LOVE these! I go vintage for budget AND for sustainability reasons, so its exciting to see something sustainable that I'd feel good about getting new from an AD. And the size spread too. A big yes
I wish they would use recycled stainless steel for the rest of the watch
I like it a lot, Jenn, and am eager to see it in person. I also wish it had the new movement. Gotta’ say, Oris has been up to some great stuff lately.
Congrats on the new time piece, enjoy! I really like the concept of the watch and the dial is super unique and pretty. I like that they offered it in two sizes, almost makes me want to do a his and hers set! I agree though, they should have used they're new movement..
Your opening was hilarious! Lmao!!!! LOVE YOU BABES! Nailed this review 😱👏🏻 and I learned so much. What a queen.
That dial really suits her for some reason. I hope anyone getting this watch will be as lucky and get a design they enjoy from the dial.
First of all congratulations on the new watch in the collection. I too have an Aquis so we both have the same taste, unfortunately though I bought mine in 2017 just after they had updated it (tapered bracelet and Aquis on the dial) and it only came in the 43.5mm case. Since then of course your size and my sweet spot the 41mm, just wish I could do a swap mine for it. Mine is the black/blue dial date which I prefer to yours I think, when the plastics were on the reverse it made more sense to me. Been honest I rarely wear it as it’s a bit big and all that polish on a diver is a cross between kinda tooly and dressy. I may part ways with mine in the future but in the meantime wear it more and try to rekindle the love.
Love the theme and the watch itself looks unique as it is! Love it! Congrats on your latest acquisition.
I can imagine these will sell out in a heartbeat. It looks fantastic, enjoy Jenni.
Seriously thinking of adding this to my collection. I've been a fan of the Aquis line for a while. Thanks for the video.
Very good looking watch, and the idea of each dial being different is great.
the "unique" dial concept is really cool. For anyone who is familiar with the video game Counter Strike: Global Offensive, we have this in-game gun skin with a randomly generated variants called "Case Hardened" which features similar base burnt titanium design but some lucky people gets a hand on some rare and unique variants like a full blue variant or a variant with a mickey mouse pattern on it. And those sometimes are re sold for a slightly higher price.
Maybe in watch community it's not the best thing because it condones people to focus on controlling the resell market and not enjoying the watches but if it's a one off thing, it can be like this cool treasure hunt thing where people can search for their very own personalized variants.
Not the easiest dial to read but the bezel looks great. The UV light is a nice little secret 🤫 😆 good purchase Jenni 👍
A photograph of that could be a good counter theft (proof of ownership) deterrent. Especially if your one who doesn’t write down serial numbers. 👍
That is one serious fashion watch. Upwards of $2000 USD, 300m rating. Recycled trash dial. Your new watch is beautiful. Congrats.
Oris is one of the watch brands i respect. They stay true and loyal to their line.
Brilliant Jenni. Superb, interesting as always. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this Oris. Power to your elbow for “promoting “ such an excellent cause. May you have great health on your journey whilst wearing your new Watch 👍
I'm a bit late to the party, but thank you for this review Jenni! (I've been looking for a unique watch that was IBWC approved.) Just picked up mine in 41.5 mm today and I love it SO much :D
It's not exactly my colour palette, I'm not a fan of coloured dials. But I absolutely adore the concept, and the execution looks fantastic. It's the kind of thing that some people could call a gimmick, but it actually serves an ecological purpose and gives the watches uniqueness.
You covered everything people needed to know about this watch. I think it's good to see ORIS use recycled materials for their watches. Let's see if the other brands follow. Thanks for your video, Jenni!
Does the case look bigger on a strap or on a bracelet? Ive got a 39,5mm aquis on a bracelet. The intergrated bracelet makes the case look smaller to me somehow.
This is a fantastic watch with a very powerful message for a diver. Love it, I'm gonna have to pick one up, thanks for the vidéo! 🙏🏼
Really cool! Aquis is a great watch already (got the 43.5 on) & this elevates it even more, a good cause.
Congratulations, you have impeccable taste 😉👍🏻👍🏻
Oris is such a cool watch brand 😎 amazing build quality, reliability and value. Hope they keep making these types of models cleaning the ocean. Also what UV torch do you use?
Looks amazing on your wrist. I just purchased the 41.5mm with the cal 400 and absolutely love it
Great idea and great result (I lobe the fact that they did a 36mm one). Congrats Jenni!
I've been looking at these a lot myself lately. I appreciate your review. My daily watch is an Oris Aquis GMT.
İt's a lovely watch, love the idea of each dial being different. The only issues I see is that they're not true dive watches as there are no minute markers on the bezel for resurfacing timing, there must be a minimum of 20 minutes of individual minute markers for a true dive watch. This is a decorative bezel only. I don't think they invisage anyone actually diving with these watches. Even though we use dive computers, the watch is still an important failsafe and backup, but it should have a divers bezel. The smaller one, though a great fashion diver style watch it's a bit too small over a wetsuit. It would look like a tiddly wink on your wrist. As for the older movement on the other one, I suppose they have a lot of them sitting on a shelf somewhere so this is how they get to use them rather than wasting them. The power reserve is excellent.
Thank you for one more great review:) To the watch now, Oris has a wide range of affordable divers, some models despite the large dial wear smaller and are extremely comfortable. Great bracelets/clasps. Not a fan of the brushed center/polished external links, I've brushed the bracelets of the models I own. The dial, although unique, given there won't be two identical, not the best for me. On a lady's wrist yes, Jeni enjoy it in good health. I opt out meteorite, MoP etc and prefer traditional/conservative dials.
This is a wonderful piece and a great initiative by Oris. Where did you pick this up, I’d like to get one myself.
OMG, it's PLAntaSTIC!
The combination of colours in yours it's awesome!! I'd guess that the more you stare at it, the more new details you'll find. 👌🏼 Definitely a yes go! :)
I do like that each dial is different. Some may command a higher resale value due to the combination and placement of colors. Your title led me to believe you didn't like your new purchase but I'm glad that you did.
Looks great, something a bit different, I think I might have to get the 41.5mm version.
As for the movement I have this in my big crown pointer date bronze and I have no issue with it when your wearing it the power reserve doesn't really matter.
Just bought mine today. Stunning dial :) Thanks for the IBWC endorsement & the great video!
YAY, Jenni giving Oris some love, fantastic, I have several Oris watches, fantastic value for money, have more expensive and similar priced watches which are NOT as good quality... even with their new calibre 400 in-house movement it doesn't add too much to the price either... Maybe it's time for a new Oris methinks :)👏👍
Nice clickbait title… you got me!
Bravo to Oris for their continued philanthropic work to help clean up the environment! 👏
So nice 🤍 really love Oris
It's a trash! Everytime I saw someone review Aquis on whatever version my heart melted. The cal 400 is a bit too expensive for me but I will always owned an Oris. Such a great history
Stunning piece and a great idea with reusing trash in such an elegant way. Nice option for men and women with the different sizes. The look also reminds me a bit of the Rolex Yachtmaster, one of the best looking models imho from them. Fantastic release from Oris!
I’d love to see these with a ceramic white or blue bezel!
Absolutely love Oris, this is a strong contender for my #3 Oris watch!
I love it. So refreshingly different. I will deff buy one once I can see it in person.
My wife really likes this watch and wants one. We went to our AD and although she liked the particular dial on that watch, it wasn't the colors she wants. She wants more primary colors so that it will go with more clothes! So we're going to wait on the next one to come in!
I’m concerned about how this watch (particularly the dial) will age over time. I mean it’s made of plastic. How will it age? It’s a dive watch that will live its life in the sun. How long until the dial begins to warp? What happens if I leave it in my car for a few hoursunder the summer sun? I appreciate brands taking risk, but this isn’t it for me, despite the beauty of the dial.
Gotta admit I play with myself when watching an Jenni vid
Managed to get one today. Hard to get this model in my country, Just came in last week. So happy with my dial design
This watch is awesome - Congrats on getting one Jenni 🥳👍
Love some of the Oris new releases, the bronze pastel is a stunner also
Love it. Especially when all of these peaces will be different. Oris is doing something original and this is what we need. To many homage, copy, old models etc. in the market.
I feel like you won the dial lottery, to me it appears much nicer than the ones Oris chose to feature. I feel Oris should have tried to bin dials to associate with bezels that were more complementary to the variations.
Hi Jenni, all Oris Aquis have SW movements except the Regulateur Meistertaucher which has the in-house movement, and it has still 38h reserve. But maybe their website is not updated, idk?
Love it!
I was planning on buying my first "expensive" watch.
The plan was to buy a Rolex or Tudor but I don't like their clasps. So I was thinking about buing a Speedmaster. But you should'nt wear them will swimming/diving?!?!
And then I saw this watch. I fell in love. Had to go for the 41.5mm version because of my wristsize.
But I have one question. Where cn I get rubber straps in fun colors? With clasp I should add. Is it my ORIS AD or is there any good aftermarket ones?
Very cool. Oris is making a lot of cool watches. The X Momotaro, Carl Brashear and the Sixty-Five with candy pink dial are fire. I would totally rock any and all, including yours. Thank you. Cheers!
Absolutely love it it fits your wrist perfectly and looks fantastic. Definitely will go for the larger size . Great looking diver and environmentally responsible what’s not to love ..
Great review! Totally fell for the title! Keep it up Jennie!
Oris makes suuuch cool watches!
Maybe we'll see a Caliber 400 version in the future 🤔
Love this watch and likewise glad available in 36.5 as I prefer smaller watches. Im a bit worried lovely dial being plastic may fade to a bleached boring colour in time by exposure to sunlight. Thanks
The title really stunned at first glance then I saw the watch and it all clicked. Excellent purchase, shame they didn't put their new movement in this watch, Im guessing this was a delayed release or they have a surplus of eta movements they still have to go through. Watch though is awesome!
This watch looks amazing. Hopefully I can add this to my collection soon.
Beautiful watch I've liked the look of the Aquis range for a while but this one might tip me over the edge. Not sure which size I'd go for though. I'd have to see them first.
Hello Jenni
Many thank yo make us discovered this very cool watch !
Do you know if in the cost of the watch it’s plan a sort of cash back for a foundation ?
I’ll have a look at this watch to my AD next week.
The concept is very cool.
Thank you for your ( always very) good video
I am really intrigued with this watch - with every dial being different. However still not decided on whether I go for this - I think this will be a case of seeing it a retailer and if I like the dial on display - I may purchase.
Nice one Jenni, I was at the AD yesterday to check it out but unfortunately they were waiting stock. The first images I saw of this watch piqued my interest in this piece. I have the Aquis 41.5 cal 400 in blue so already know how it would wear on the wrist. If they had used the cal 400 the price would have been a fair bit higher (and I might have saved my drive to the AD). I think Oris are testing the water with this model first and you never know they might bring out a cal 400 version later. From the photographs and videos I can see this on my wrist. Your watch even has the highest accreditation available being IBWC compliant.
I was considering their dive watch when You called the watch a literal “trash” . But in a good way.😂 whew! Ok I’m still getting it then.
Great purchase. I believe they went with the older SW movement to keep the price down. 🌏
Nowadays, you can slap on any garbage on to a watch as a dial with a story behind it and you will find people that will eat it up.
I agree with you. I just want watch companies to build beautiful watches. I do not need to feel like I am saving the planet. The 1/100 th of an ounce of garbage in that dial isn’t changing anything.
@@erickobetitsch6055 The carbon footprints to make that dial from plastic is probably causing more damage than good. It's all a marketing gimmick, this just further prove they have no intention to 'Change for the Better'.
@@cctc788 You read my mind. The carbon footprint to manufacture that dial likely creates more harm than good. Also, this watch has a 38 hour power reserve. Really? The company put effort into a garbage virtue signaling dial, but spec a 38 hour power reserve movement? What a load of crap. But I am sure some eco-conscious idiot will buy this and show everyone his dial at the party and claim he is doing his part to save the world. Double face palm with a head shake.
Absolutely love this watch. In fact I am sort of in a trash mood. I got the Alpina Glyde and now I’m going for this!!! 😂😂😂😂
😂 I was shocked when I just read the title. Great company!
