This is one of the most desirable watches ever made. I'll surely have one in my life. Although I have many in my list, I've kept this one the last.

I've had mine for 43 years, I've never regretted it for one moment. I've dived with it, explored with it, had a high speed motorcycle crash with it. It cost just £325 at the time which was the price of an OK SLR camera. I'm getting an accuracy of 1 second every 3 days. Outstanding! Of all my watches it is the only one that I insist my son will keep to further hand down.
The most iconic watch of all time perfect in every way! Anyone wearing one know they are blessed and if you love the hobby it’s the ultimate watch or grail to have. The 41 is absolute perfection! Have the 126613LN truly love everything about it! Great review

Totally agree. Takes cues from the 16610 to fix the mistakes of the 116610. But disagree with the idea of a transparent case back on a tool watch.

Glass base vs. metal lid
Even if I give in to the nostalgic arguments in favor of a mechanical watch, I also want to be able to see the “magic of mechanics”.
A look through the glass base provides an insight into the inner workings - with subtle to open-hearted clock designs. One of the most beautiful moments for watch enthusiasts is to look at the clockwork at work through the display back.
It is all the more surprising that manufacturers like Rolex install a tasteless metal lid instead of a display back.
To this day, the Rolex Group “defends” itself vehemently against the use of glass backs: there is (almost) no model at Rolex or its subsidiary Tudor that has more than a plain steel back.
There is a lot of manual work behind the timepieces and it's just a shame if watch enthusiasts never get to see these little works of art.
This is perhaps because the Rolex calibers are not among the most beautiful in the watch market and Rolex does not want to invest anything in beautifying its calibers.
A steel floor is cheaper to produce because a viewing window requires a significant increase in precision in production, for example for the seals and the glass.
Just the idea of knowing that a mechanical caliber is built in isn't enough for me personally, I want to be able to see it at work. Without a visible back, it doesn't matter to me which caliber is installed, I can't see it!
I praise the display backs of my Omega Planet Ocean GMT 600M or my Breitling Navitimer B01, it's always a feast for the eyes to watch the caliber at work.

The No Date is perfection
I got my grail. After getting it, I legitimately stop looking. I have an Omega AT by the way. It is bitter sweet since it was fun looking for the perfect watch and having something looking forward to, but I look at other watches and they are not better than my watch for me. I actually told my wife I kind of wish I slowly move up instead of getting my grail because there isnt a better watch for me and I'm not going replace my grail for a lesser watch. I like wearing one watch and the same watch everyday. I like keeping my life simple and not waste time energy daily on which watch I'm going to wear.
Every needs a black sub in their collection it’s a must have and they make a great daily
Love my Sub 1986 16800 bought new then for $1300; the gold/SS was $2300 in 1986. Worn it everyday since then. Great watch!

Keep what you love - and you love this piece, so you will enjoy it. Caution about robberies, pickpockets. My sub is entirely different : a 1967 5513 with riveted bracelet, tritium, bubble dial. No way this one goes even close to the water. I love the piece, with all the traces of age, precisely because the 1960s were my childhood years. See this watch as a memories enhancer on your wrist - those you loved, school, the moon landings..... equally loved is my 1967 Speedy 321. They mean the same to me. Every one has a grail or several, you just need to know why you love them, otherwise you buy unloved pieces.

If you have a tool watch you probably won't get see through case so the movement doesn't need any decorations. Most of the time only the watchmakers gonna enjoy in that beauty. I'd take compact and useful movement over some skeletonized, customized one of a kind movements. And Rolex makes them really good. Enjoy it.

Pregledao sam svaki video i recenziju na CZcams ali nisam bio te sreće da me Mamić stavi na listu zainteresiranih. Malalan me stavio ali vidit ćemo, nisam optimističan. Uglavnom čestitke za sat i nastavite sa radom.
The Submariner did to the bezel what Michael Jackson did to the moonwalk. He didn't actually do it first, but it became his signature because of the way he executed it.

The blue lume does look great. I hate on this watch. Not because it isn't a good watch. But because it is on everyone's wrist. I guess there is a reason. I personally like the speedmaster better (even though they are 2 different types of watches). I put them in the same category..

I had this piece and sold it, not because it isn’t great but in my opinion it is way too bling and is way too obvious to watch theft. I flipped it for an immaculate 1990 tritium dial 16610. I just don’t think the new version is anything like the classic pre ceramic. It’s a luxury piece and no longer a tool watch, for me. I also just purchased a luxury GO panorama date. For me this watch is @ true high horology diver that actually is a tool watch when worn on the supplied canvas strap. Last comment. My 16610 is nearly 33 years old and is still only plus 1 second a day. All this extra tech was unnecessary imho.

The Maxi-case is my favourite💯 I own a large Rolex collection and IMO the bracelet and clasp on the new 21mm lug width models have been compromised. The bracelet is less elegant and the clasp is an unnecessary behemoth.

A little under a year and a half (1 year and 4 months)
That seems pretty consistent with this AD as almost all our local forum members got theirs in that time frame including friend who went there a couple of months after me, again with no purchase history and just got the call last week. They really seem ok in trying to get you the watch without the AD "games"

Really though, dust under the screen! How does this get past Rolex quality checks?
This version grows the bracelet into the big case. The slightly narrower lugs make the case visually integrate into the bracelet. It wears massive compared to the 5 digit models.
I also really notice the thinness. I call it the Pancake XL.
And what’s up with that dip in the center of the dial?
Basically it’s looks bad.
The positives: It FEELS great! The huge bracelet is much more proportional to the jumbo case than the immediate previous models. So it sits better due to the large bracelet. Slimness keeps it out of the way.
Way better hands. Anti reflective coating big improvement.

Did you measure the lug to lug? I’m seeing various numbers for it: most often 47.6. Just asking because I have 6.25 inch wrists and want to see what this sub would look like.
Yes, those are measured values in the video, the lug to lug of the watch and in the parenthesis is the lug to lug including the end links of the bracelet, both measured with my calipers
I believe you mentioned somewhere on your channel that you keep the time precious around +-0 for this sub, could you share how to reach the level?
Some say they keep it face up, and some use other techniques
Depends on how your watch keeps time, mine gains a fraction of a second a day, so every other or third day I let it sit in its side overnight (crown up) and it slows it down a bit
Mine slows down also on the side with the crown up. Otherwise, it gains a second or two in a couple of days
It's a good watch it's no Rolex black dial seadweller Deepsea but it's ok
you can keep your bulky deepsea... sub is a far more versatile watch.
