It's because the sales reps need to get approval from the sales manager at all times before being able to sell a Rolex. Especially if it's even a marginally popular model. That is why you hear all the stories of people who got the Rolex the same day that they left the store and a couple hours later or 30 mins later or what not they're told that they have something special for them. It's the reason this lady was waiting outside. She got the approval from the manager and then went outside to see if she could find him again. Being an AD is the ultimately flipper. THATS why they don't like other flippers. They are holding a speculative position... of some sort. Albeit slightly different to the indies.
Looking at a number YT videos on this topic, AD's in small towns and not so busy airports seem more willing to do this for people who are leaving the country.
Well I have officially given up on my dream of getting the new 41 Sub/Date. I just find it incredibly hard to believe that a company that makes OVER a millions watches a year "can't keep up with demand".
I assume the watch flippers caused this terrible business model. Love Rolex watches but don't like the idea of having to beg for the opportunity to buy one. That 36 Explorer is one I'd want.

Don't get me wrong, Rolex obviously has a great business model (at least for now), but it does seem to reward some and punish others with no apparent rhyme or reason.
Let’s be honest, Royal Oak aside she already had more than a clue you weren’t a brokie. There’re reasons a principality of that size can support multiple luxury watch boutiques and foreign tourists are a big one.
No no no!!!! The only way to get a watch is build a personal relationship with the manager if you’re lucky to talk to him. I waited 5 years but in 10 days I picking up my next submariner at an AD that I’ve never shopped before just I kept building a relationship and now we are good friends.
As a 124270 owner myself, I hope your wife will love the Explorer as much as I do!
As someone who is fascinated with the concept of time I really appreciate this video
This whole list thing is comical. Every time I walk into my AD they offer me multiple Rolexes. They know I’m not a flipper.
36mm is widely available right now
I bought an Invicta Speedway, and now I have a nice watch and $24,940 dollars left in the bank.
Always be truthful to the AD
Why? Will me telling them that I work in a supermarket, drive a Ford have saved up a few years get me a Rolex sub?
@@Nick-cs9dtthat’s more likely to get you one than telling them you’re a “collector”.
This is why I bought an omega
Well I have officially given up on my dream of getting the new 41 Sub/Date. I just find it incredibly hard to believe that a company that makes OVER a millions watches a year "can't keep up with demand".
I assume the watch flippers caused this terrible business model. Love Rolex watches but don't like the idea of having to beg for the opportunity to buy one. That 36 Explorer is one I'd want.
ahaha the air king is selling for below retail ,they are common
When your favorite channel finally uploads again after 6 months 😩
I'll wait for cancer treatment , dentist appointment , but never a friggen watch .lol
So moral of the story is... have an AP on your wrist from the owners house and a large CZcams channel to even have a shot with an AD... yeah no... gray market it is...
Buy a fake AP for £100. Bet they wouldn’t notice the difference. Tell them you have 20million followers and away you go.
The perfect client is the one who has the money to buy it. Rolex is just disgusting for this.
More content would be great!
Lemme get this straight you ask her if they have any explorer 2s for sale. She brings out an explorer 2 and you buy the explorer 1
You shouldn't have to beg to spend your money. Rolex-fix your ADs.
That watch you can buy at any Rolex Dealer, try buying a Sub., of a Daytona, no shot.
My advice to watch enthusiasts is to buy from official Rolex stores, unless you know of a mom and pop boutique that you won’t have to bribe for a watch.
😂 If only you knew. The "Rolex stores" (which are actually called boutiques) are in some cases even more shady than ADs. I know first hand from a friend of mine who worked at a boutique. You wouldn't believe the things going on behind the scenes...AT AN OFFICIAL ROLEX BOUTIQUE. It's wild.
Like what tell us more
I bought one at retail in Minnesota last week w no waitlist. It’s not that hard anymore lol
What model Rolex was it? I know Daytona's and GMTs are still hard to get at retail
@@oceanblue5794 Datejust. Was just at watches of Switzerland in the mall yesterday and they had 6 new ones available. But like you said, it’s not like you can just walk in and leave w a 2023 Pepsi
we need more videos!!!
Stop reel quick or really quick hmmm.
