- It is with great pleasure that I share with you yet another ultra rare, Cass Elliot gem. Unlike my two previous posts, I know absolutely nothing about when this originally aired or where. At any rate, it is such fun! Just watch Cass doing the Charleston at some point and be blown away. Enjoy!
I mean no copyright infringement of any sort and am only sharing this with fellow fans for its merit as a rarity that is officially unavailable anywhere else.
I'm currently doing a Cass Elliot tour on CZcams and I'm amazed. Not only can she sing (I knew that), but she's utterly funny and smart too. And now I discover she can dance!
I just got here 🤓🌷 and I love it!
I’m taking the tour today. She was a mega talent. Julie Andrews, Johnny Cash, John Denver, and more. She was equal to them all.
Man, had she not been called home early, she'd have had Broadway at her feet. There and Britain's West End
Absolutely amazing performance!! If you look at all the music she sang prior to her M&P days, there was no genre that Cass could not only do but do so well. We can only imagine where her talent would have taken her. Thank God for what she did leave us with!
Is there something cass Elliot could not do? Great voice, good dancer, funny, smart. What a lady!!! Love you mama cass!!!
One problem with remembering that era is that when I hear modern day singers, I can't help comparing them with the likes of Cass Elliot.
No comparison..😌
@@world-yw5ro Agreed.
Absolutely beautiful performance. My God, I'm blown away. I'm on a Cass Elliot binge at the moment.
I recently read the biography on Cass by Eddi Fiegel, Dream a Little Dream of Me, and one of her first boyfriends, Alan Pollock (producer of her radio show at AU), mentions her "killer legs" which she showed off at a major college dance he took her to. Check at 03:58 for a glimpse of the killer left leg! I also read in there that choreographer Walter Painter thought Cass could move nimbly and that her dancing ability was "better than most". Another boyfriend, whose name skipped my mind now, noted that she was a very good dancing partner who was feather-light in her partner's arms - very clear to see that in this video!
She always reminded me of Ethel Merman, who I loved. To me Cass was my generations Merm
This has bothered me for sometime, but I finally got it. This performance is from the Ed Sullivan show, " Tribute to Richard Rodgers " ( 22 November 1970 )
+Antoinette Crous Thanks so much for filling the missing timeline piece of the puzzle! :)

Very Enjoyable ! Thank You For Sharing.
I see they did lip syncing back then too.
Did anyone else think the one performer looked like Barry Manilow?
an unbelieveable talent taken from us far to soon
I think this might be from the Julie Andrews show. Thanks for posting!!! So great!!!
SHE DID THAT! YESSSSSSSSSSSS GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Girl Friend............. Go Baby...........Wow ....... I sure do miss you ........ Byron and John
The crowds she could pull .
Mama Cass is the clasik and the loor.thankju.
I'm wondering if by chance this is from her "Don't Call Me Mama Anymore" TV special that CBS had aired.Regardless,it's great to see this obscure footage of her.She was totally in her element here.
Hey there John and thanks for watching. This actually is not from the 1973 special (1970 if I'm not mistaken) which will highly likely be released in the near future. My money is on a release in conjunction with Cass's 2016 Hollywood Star ceremony.
But yeah, how wonderful is she on stage? I'm always on the hunt for more rarities.
Eran Edry She had so much more to offer us if only she hadn't left us so soon.I know for a fact that her daughter Owen has the master tapes of that "Don't Call Me Mama Anymore" special, therefore it's up to her when or if it gets released.
+John W Landry I couldn't agree more. Like Michelle Phillips has said, there would have been no limits to what she could have accomplished had she lived.
I've seen posts from Owen herself on a forum last year that a release is in the works so my educated guess is that now that the Walk of Fame Star is a done deal, they would want a release to be in conjunction.
I've seen the special and it is well worth the wait.
Eran Edry It has me curious more than anything else.I honestly didn't even like a majority of Cass Elliot's solo material, but I admire the fact that she always did her own thing and could sing any genre of music.
I'm the same. There are a number of her solo songs that I love, but I appreciate everything. My favs are of course Mamas and the Papas and The Big Three -- amazing Cass performances in the latter too!
The other song she cuts into singing for a while is "Blue Room" Love her so much!!!
Excelente!!!!
Probably the time when she lost much weight.
