  • Delighted to share with everyone the seldom seen live TV performance of Cass' fantastic single, 'One Way Ticket.' I believe this aired sometime in 1969 but wouldn't swear to it.
    I mean no copyright infringement of any sort. I am only sharing this for fans' appreciation and enjoyment as this is a rarity that is not commercially available anywhere.

    Her cousin Judy was my art teacher early 70's and dear friend many years. I actually wandered here after seeing Janis Joplin's "Ball & Chain" at Monterey, and noticed Cass and Michelle Philips total awe at the end of the song..... the look is almost like "so THAT's what an orgasm is!?!?!" :)
    Argh the nostalgia of this...... thanks :)

    Judging from the stage where she descends, it looks the Andy Williams show. This is a great song. Originally a 1968 (?)) Australian single for Helen Reddy.

    Is that the Andy Williams show? According to wikipedia, she performed this song on his show circa 1970 - and the single was released in 1971 in the UK :)

    Wow, there are so many songs that I’ve been aware of for many years, and only now discovering that the voice was beautiful Cass. Watching the video I couldn’t help noticing that something seems to throw her off or upset her at 1:58 - I wonder what that was? A producer signalling to cut it short or something perhaps.

  • @shyman99
    @shyman99 Před 4 lety +6

    It's not live. It's a lip sync of a re-recording. I have the entire Andy Williams Show where this came from (without the counter). She also had a couple more performances on the show. They should have allowed her to lip sync to the original recorded version, which sounds so much better. The song may have sold many more copies had she insisted. But I think Andy wanted to keep his band busy by accompanying not only himself but his musical guests as well

    Love it! But Gloria Loring
    & Helen Reddy's versions are better because of their orchestration & production.

      @thomassullivan9692 Před 2 lety +1

      Cass sang circles around those two. This also isn't the version released as a record. That version is much more produced, with a fantastic arrangement by Jimmie Haskell and the Wrecking Crew playing their asses off. Not to mention Cass' vocals and own layered harmonies.
