There is a scam going around claiming to be me. They want money for shipping and it’s from the WhatsApp. Please disregard this, if you ever win a bowl from me I will never ask for shipping!
I knew right away that it wasn't legit 😂! Thank you for reaching out!🥰
I seen that and did not click on it because I watched you fo the drawing and knew it was fake.
Thanks, sorry that some scammer is trying to abuse the community you have formed by your hard work. Maybe because I am familiar with the world of scambaiting, when I got the message this morning on my utube notifications, I knew it was from some scumbag would-be thief. Also I saw both the videos where you award the bowls and you are clear on your process. Hope scummer gets all he deserves. Happy
woodturning!
Always have to be diligent against the scammers. The world would be a better place if they would put their energies toward legal causes rather than evil.
I got one. Thought it was click bait so I left it alone.
I love it when you inlay contrasting woods or branches or soap stone with resins, all your creations turn out beautiful by the end, even the ones that gave you grief. It's great to see you very rarely give up on a piece that you are working on. Thank you for sharing your craftsmanship. Sincerely.
Thanks so much!
JIm: I was shocked when I saw my name. Good thing I was sitting down. With all the difficulty in the preparation, it still came out nice. I like the mix of wood. It gives it a really nice look. The finish material always brings out the grain and beauty. It will have a place at the table for the family to see, after they all get this link. As always "stay safe and take care". I will be in touch.
I’m happy for you! Thanks for commenting on each video, it sure payed off!
Congratulations Smee & family! Beautiful bowl and I love the finish!
Thank you very much!
Nice to see a craftsman in this day and age where so many youtube turners do everything with scrapers gouge skill is nice to see..
When it comes to pieces like this I will use a gouge, but the heavy resin pieces I like to use the hunter tool line of scrapers. Thanks
Very beautiful Jim. The Smee family will be very lucky to have it.
Thanks 🙏
Absolutely astounding.
Couldn't believe it when I saw my name in the shortlisting ..... time to go out and buy a lottery ticket?
Smee and family are going to love the bow.
Yup, get that ticket, lol. Thanks
The new finish you used may not smell the best but the end result is amazing. Based on looks alone, that would be my go to moving forward.
Congratulations Smee and family and thank you Sprague Woodturning for your content and giveaways.
Thanks 🙏
Congrats Smee and Family! Great video Jim. Glad you found a new replacement finish!!
Thanks 😊
This is a lovely piece, the red resin looks stunning on the light burl. A fine work of art sir, indeed. Thanks you for all your hard work, on both sides of the camera. I know that editing can take a lot of time and hard work. Your camera work is outstanding sir. Again, thanks for the talk over also. It makes your channel first rate.🌿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you very much!
Since I'm still new to your channel I have been watching all your older videos. Again, I'm just amazed how you do these amazing bowls. Just absolutely love them. Thank you
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching!
Lucky Smee and Family winners! For me this bol is gorgeous, colors are well balanced and the Waterlox shine seems very good. In one of my bols I used dried beans instead of rice though it was not a deep casting projec ( I have no pressure pot so I use the pro series resin) but I needed to apply pressure on my fillings under plastic sheets.. It is less compact than rice and molds easily in the bol. I don`t know whar would happen to the dried beans under pressure! I appreciated the technique with the nipple to center the glue block on the bowl. Since I have no jumbo jaws that you usually use it looks to me as a good alternative. Thanks alo for the comments on the quick cure resin and on Waterlox. Next on my list when I will have used all my GF. Happy to watch you next week. Have a nice weekend.
It seems to be a great finish! I’m so glad I bought a couple of cans of it! The smell is strange, but I guess ya can’t have it all, lol. Thanks
Congrats to Smee with family.
Realy lovly that bowl with the inlay and the vinered epoksy. The waterlox finish was so nice and shining. Learning every time from your videos Jim, Thank you.
Greetings from
Hans Olav
Thanks for watching!
What a great way to salvage what most people would have thrown away. Not only a great salvage but a wonderful combination of motifs.
Thanks 🙏
Like the bowl and the cherry fill.
Good job. That finish is very shinny.
😎👌👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏
Congratulations to Smee and Family! Stunning bowl jim! Someday i hopento have some of your work in my personal collection!
Thanks 🙏
Beautiful piece of wood, but certainly challenging, with all the fill opportunities! Not usually a huge fan of epoxy fills, but this piece probably couldn't exist without it!! Great finish, in spite of all the work, the piece insisted on, for you getting to the end!! Nice to see videos where everything doesn't go right and looking like it was so easy!! Thanks for REAL LIFE, on the lathe!! Loaded with character!!
Lately nothings gone right, haha. Thanks for watching!
CONGRATS to the winner. Beautiful bowl. Your personal collection are beautiful too.
Thanks, this is just a portion of it, lol.

Hi Jim, Wow. Branch inlays, resin, large bowl, the only thing missing to make this a truly “signature” bowl is watching you struggle to remove the bowl from the plastic container. Ha!
