    I would definitely be interested in a comparison of the masks. They do look the same but if you can give each one a week and report back about if there are any differences besides the top strap that would be great.

    As a Physicist and self proclaimed nerd, this made me so happy! She was using language from physics (which is my bread and butter) and was explaining the biological impact on skincare that I loved to learn. The moment she used the word irradiance, I was like, “that’s the optical intensity you are talking about”! And then in the next sentence she explained it in terms of intensity with the correct unit! ❀
    I had a broad smile on my face all the duration while watching. Thank you for making my Sunday morning (Australia is too ahead in time zone)!
    PS. A small correction. Not trying to be impolite or anything. Just for the sake of clarity. When the unit is mW/sq cm, it’s technically the radiant power per unit surface area, not per unit volume. But I get what you intended to mean.

    • @tanjiafatema
      @tanjiafatema Pƙed rokem +4

      @@sosasisu not really. LED lights come in a variety of wavelengths. And it’s important that you get the correct spectrum, otherwise there is no benefit. I don’t think that the outdoor LED lights always are in the red spectrum (which is needed for skin). Because making a certain wavelength range can take the production cost of the lights higher. I doubt they do it with outdoor lights.

    • @sosasisu
      @sosasisu Pƙed rokem

      @@tanjiafatema it's red light with wavelength of 630-780nm

    • @tanjiafatema
      @tanjiafatema Pƙed rokem +8

      @@sosasisu too broad spectrum. You need 630nm with a varying range of +/- 10nm. 630-780 is too broad range. It won’t be effective for skin.

    Thank you Dr. Idriss for all of the wonderful evidence based information - it is a breath of fresh air! I feel like I am getting free education. It’s truly thrilling to see hard work and science for the win in this world of misinformation.
    Would love to see you pair with an MUA for recs on non-comedogenic makeup (both luxury and drugstore) that works well over a good skin regimen. I worry that there are oils or other ingredients in my makeup that may interfere with my sunscreen. Also, silica! Should I be using it or avoiding it for oily areas? It’s in a lot of mattifying products and I want to make a thoughtful educated decision on it’s use.
    Would love to hear any products you like (or don’t like) from Clarins, Maya chia, and chantacaille.
    Also agree with another comment I saw with a request for a video on masks!
    I removed several products that were overloaded with HAs and I seriously feel a difference even within 24hours. I believe I was waking up with dehydrated skin despite an effort to be diligent in the evenings with my routine. GAMECHANGER.

    You said that they all are in the right range. But I can not make a top 3 and tell which one is 1 and number 2 and why so I can know which one is the best.
    I hope you do another video! I loved this video.

    I work in the chemical industry & glad you hit on FDA. FDA Cleared & FDA Approval doesn't mean much in my opinion. Approval just means that the company submitted their own trial studies (which don't necessarily mean they have a double blind placebo). Cleared means the company is using what is known as "predicate" when submitting to the FDA. This means their device is fungible with something similar on the market. FDA doesn't perform their own testing on anything. So if you see "FDA approved LED Light Therapy Treatment" this is misleading.

    I have been doing red light therapy on my leg for about a week now. I fell outside and gashed my knee open and had a pretty nasty wound. It has healed so fast from doing 30 min a day of red light therapy. It is a light pink now and hardly visible. I was so worried it would leave a big scar but these looks like it will be minimal.
