Vital proteins do help strengthen nails, but they won't really do anything for the skin. I have tried almost everything to look younger + delay aging as much as possible, anything from face exercises, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements and of course Retin A (7 years straight), home devices and what not. However, nothing made any real difference compared to the high-quality derma pen I purchased for around 100 bucks. Within 3 months of use, my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm 18 again, but definitely not 44 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less are nonexist (Never had jowls though). People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin and instead paying thousands of dollars for fillers, botox, etc.
What dermapen did you get?
can you share which derma pen brand please ? Thanks for the comment by the way!

Ive been microneedling for almost 10 years - most guess I'm @ 15 YEARS younger than my birth certificate says.
I DO it myself at home, quote aggressively in places, and lightly in others,,maybe 1x month. I am 63
+1 for kora beauticaIs. I've been doing microneedling since it started 12 or so years ago. Nobody believe I am 55. They all say I am in my 30's or early 40's. As you know, as we get old, our skin gets thinner therefore creating wrinkles. But the wounding kept my skin still thick and youthful. Your comment will help so many women to restore their skin..

The collagen peptide is great for my joints.
I take vital proteins and I haven't noticed any difference in my skin but it's definitely helped with my hair loss and has strengthened my weak brittle nails.
Same. Just wrote the same comment.
Also keeps me full .. I put it in my morning coffee and helps me with my intermittent fasting. I did help with my hair fall.
HI - what specifically do you take? My nails have been brittle for over 5 years and hair loss really bad now - stress a big factor - so any suggestions would be so welcomed! Thanks :)
â@@p4patienceyou do realise that the collagen breaks your fast right? It contains calories in the form of protein

Iâm just being honest, Iâm 38 and have always taken really good care of my skin starting at age 23. I use to get Botox but stopped. This is what I use and it works for me:
1.) healthy diet, full of protein (grass fed meat, butter) healthy fats, antioxidants
2.) exercise. I walk 30-45 mins about 5 days a week and toning exercises at home. I sometimes do hot yoga classes.
3) I use tretinoin and vitamin c.
4) I donât tan and I use mineral sunscreen.
5) I donât smoke anything lol and I donât drink.
6) Supplements. I do drink collagen peptides in my coffee every morning, Nutrafol and ashwaganda. I have noticed a difference adding the collagen proteins in my coffee (I added this 4 weeks ago)
People think I look 28âŠIâll take it. Just sharing my advice â€
Thank you sooo much for sharing your tips!! I turned 26 this year, i started using retinol a year ago and i only started taking collagen now. Im blessed genetically, for example you have to be 18 to buy cigarette products and alcohol in our country, im trying to stop smoking so i switched to vaping and if i dont have my ID, nobody will sell me anything! They always shocked when i tell them that im 26. People around me used to laugh at me when i was 20 and everybody thought that i was 15, i got made fun of really bad by other woman. I still had a full on mental breakdown at my 26th birthday, i don't want to just rellie on my genetic predisposition, since i now benifit from it! Im truly extremely thankful for people like you who share their tips and don't gatekeep them!! â€

I have been taking Vital Proteins Collagen Advanced for 3 years. Helped my joints tremendously. Im a runner. And yes Iâve noticed mild improvements on my skin.

I use that particular collagen powder and I have noticed my skin is smoother and slightly more plump. Your skin is already flawless and wrinkle-free so you're likely not seeing a difference because you didn't really need it to begin with.
My thoughts exactly - I was wondering what improvement she could possibly see to already flawless skin
My primary doctor told me 8 months ago to start using Vital Protein collagen powder in the advance version of it, I'm 60 and I can definitely say I have seen improvement. My hair is healthier, fingernails are growing stronger, and my skin looks younger. The advance version includes Hyaluronic acid and vitamin C.
Dr Idriss, recently I found myself referring to you as "my dermatologist" when an esthetician at the beauty salon told me not to use vitamin c in the morning! Lol. Thank you for the great videos!
Did she say why not to use it :o I thought it was fine when layered with sunscreen:)
OMG I love it!! Think I might have to tuck that up my sleeve in case I need to copy you one day! đ
@@JazminZenteno1 it is, she didn't know what she was talking about it :)
Dr. Idriss, I just want to say that I have noticed a huge improvement with my skin since I've been following your tips.
I was at a point that I wanted to incorporate every single ingredient in my routine, and my skin had become a mess. Since I've found you, I've slimmed down my routine, almost completely eliminated HA, I use just a few key ingredients, the ones that I really think my skin needs and that work on my skin, and it has never looked and felt better. I'm learning so much from you and your no-nonsense approach to skincare. Thank you!
When Iâm consistent with collagen intake, I definitely notice a difference in my skin (more hydrated, softer).
So do I. My body feels better. I have fibromyalgia and I definitely feel better. My skin is happier. It doesn't work alone but it helps just like the berries. I don't drink. Smoke or am a sun bunny. Never have. But had a hysterectomy and that did affect me big-time. No hormones. Thank you for the great advice. I love the products suggested. Please show us a good skin routine.
My doctor says that collagen powder does not improve the skin directly, but improves gut health, and a good gut health reflects on the skin :)
I imagine it does! After all is a protien aid that's a building block for everything.
Omg same me too. The skin literally feels more plump and glowy
My joints and body feel so much better on collagen, itâs a game changer. Mix a scoop on my coffee every morning. If I skip a few days, I feel achy.
Q: are CoQ10 supplements worth it.
I love that Eucerin CoQ10.
Ok. So Iâve heard at least a few dermatologists say that Collagen supplements are quite effective. But they also said that the collagen should be 1) Hydrolyzed and 2) Contain peptic acids; and 3) grass fed. They have also said that we are wasting our time with topical collagen creams because the collagen isnât small enough to penetrate the cells. I am paraphrasing because I donât speak doctor. Lol. Would love to hear your take on this though.
Could you please make a video on how to build a WEEKLY anti aging skincare routine for both am and pm?
I love watching your sessions on here. It's taken me a lifetime to find you. Someone who explains things simply. Thank you! đâšđ Xxx
I started using Marine Collagen from Applied Nutrition last year (itâs much cheaper than the one from Vital Proteins, Iâm in the UK - not sure if itâs available in other countries) and I could see the results straight away - my hair and nails started growing at supersonic speed. Skin also improved a lot. I use one scoop a day with a glass of orange juice. Within the past 12 months this was the product helped the most, along with Vichy Lift Activ Supreme Vitamin C Brightening Serum. These two worked magic for me.
How much is this ? Thanks

When Iâm consistent with my collagen intake, my skin is less dry, more plump, and just healthier looking. I can always see a visible difference when Iâm inconsistent. Iâll stick with drinking my collagen
Yes please, video about how to layer these products, and when to use throughout the day/week.
Im 36 but I've always had thin transparent skin thanks to Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (genetic connective tissue disease, basically I make faulty collagen). My skin is like butter. My cat can touch me very lightly with her claws and the very top layer will flake off. My skin heals very slowly. The only thing that I've found that helps the healing is large amounts of protein and oral vitamin c.
You introduced me to Eucerin coq10 and I only use that now. It works for my dry skin. Doesnât break me out. And itâs just as good as any $65 moisturizer for $12. I am a massive fan of it. Thank you for that.
I love that moisturizer. I use it morning and night. Definitely a difference maker.

I donât think youâre in the age bracket yet (over 50), or in the tissue disease bracket (IBS, arthritis, and other connective tissue diseases) to see notably visible skin results and/or joint and GI tract benefits from consuming hydrolyzed collagen supplements. Save buying collagen peptides for after you turn 50 or if you have any connective tissue diseases (for the latter, also adding chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid can help).
I agree! Once you get to a certain age, the collagen powders really work. Just like eye creams. Don't really make sense under 40 but once you hit a certain age, eye creams make a difference.đ
Thank you so much for another great video. Iâv learned so much from you! â€

I started taking collagen based on the recommendations of another doctor who presented studies supporting benefits of collagen peptides. The more doctors I hear, the more I am convinced that there is such an inconsistency between them and everyone is claiming to be right.
When I decided to use the collagen peptide powder it was more for joint health rather than beauty and skin health. I find it helps my joints a bit.

Dr. Idriss, in my opinion, taking collagen WITH BEEF OR LAMB in the diet has made my skin beautiful. I decided to take photos and stop taking the collagen and the broths/foods and my skin just looked sad after stopping it. The other thing is hydration, obviously. I also consume a lot of lemon, eggs etc. So imo, the supplement just boosts what the food does.
