😆
thank for you saving me 41 minutes
Timeless Vit C is as good as Skin Ceuticals for 20.00
Vitamin C + sunscreen a must in my morning routine for sun protection. Every day rain, shine, no matter what
Same thing 😊
Is it ok to use it on winter too?
@@luisnavarro9763yes winter too
@@luisnavarro9763I use it all year.
@@luisnavarro9763 for me absolutely. Needed it depends on what you are doing
Timeless airless colorless bottle withe vitamin E and Ferulic is at the correct Ph, affordable and works great!
Timeless is an amazing product. I’ve had great results with it.
I’m on bottle 4!
I'm kind of surprised you only mentioned timeless in passing.. it's amazing and one of the cheapest pure vitamin C
I broke out badly because of the timeless vit c and the pigmentation still last over the year
Love my timeless Vit C 20% . I saw my results very fast.
It’s like you read my mind. I was doing a little research on Vitamin C and its benefits, whether I should include in my Skincare routine. Then, the doctors I trust uploads 😍
My friend swears by the beauty counter one. It's at ulta.. I just ordered it. Her skin looks great and she turned 60. Pricey though.
Haha I did the same thing about vitamin C and found this one too.
I had very acne prone skin and vitamin C moisturizer was the first one I ever used that didn’t cause me to break out.
I didn’t realize the length of this video until Dr. Shah commented about it. Wow - it didn’t feel like a long video! Lots of great info. Thank you!!!
didn't realize either till I read your comment!
I agree! I found the detail about the difference between the body of research in the cosmetic space vs. the rest of the medical world very important information to be aware of. Thank you. Drs. Maxfield and Shah! 😊
Definitely Surprised you only mentioned Timeless in passing not only affordable but Definitely a Quality product at both percentages and no Dropper 👏👏
I’ve been using the Timeless 20% L-ascorbic acid for almost 2 years religiously, and it’s a holy grail 🎉💗 and I have SENSITIVE + rosacea prone skin ♥️
ALSO
did you hear about the class action LAWSUIT against Paula’s choice for lying about their cruelty free status?
If that is proven true, I cannot and will not support them going forward.
I, myself, only use cruelty-free skincare- but to LIE about it?
No thank you!
I’ll need a Doctorly “Unhinged” episode on the lawsuit ^ 😅🙏🏻
❤
AMAZING video as always! LOVE YOU GUYS 💗
I hear you - I was super high on Drunk Elephant products when they first came out (their C-Firma was not a fave) but then she sold to Shiseido which is NOT a cruelty free brand, soooo....hypocrite much?! I kinda lost respect for the brand after that...
Wow..I'm only using cruelty free ..I honestly don't think all this anti aging works
Thank you for such a thorough review of Vitamin C types, ingredients, percentages etc….
I personally use Timeless at 20%. They also have it at 10%. It has made a significant improvement in the hyperpigmentation of my forearms due to sun damage. Timeless is one of the less costly of L. ascorbic acid. Nice that it also has férulic acid and vit EI do not have sensitive skin and my face is showing some improvement of hyperpigmentation spots due to acne. It took about two months but definitely worth the time and effort of wearing it daily in the morning only.
Not specific to this video, but I've binged hours of your content over the past few months. I've learned so much, am about 3 months into tretinoin and feel like I have the best skin of my life at 41 years old. Thank you for doing all of this work ❤
Awesome deep dive into vitamin C. Thank you!
Timeless is great.
I love it. Only stared using it when I heard you guys talk about it in the previous videos. Skin care for in your 30s, 40s 50s, and some other
Really appreciate the education on vitamin c. ❤
Thank you for this info! Literally was sooo confused whether it was good or unnecessary. I absolutely trust you guys, so this has been very helpful❤
Just FYI Beauty of Joseon product called Light On Serum : Centella + Vita C has 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid 10%. Not irritating at all. I love it and try to use it every single morning. It's very affordable at $17 at 1 fl ounce.
Thanks, didn’t realize BOJ made a vitamin C product.
I LOVE when you two are together. I love the scientific talk and the way you interact and this topic in particular. Thank you for bringing the science.
Love how thorough this video is! I’m definitely as insane as the good doctors and watched the whole thing 🧡
Loved this long video - watched it on x2 and made notes. I am ordering my vitamin c right now! I ran out a couple of weeks ago and can see the difference in the lack of brightness in my skin
I found the detail about the difference between the body of research in the cosmetic space vs. the rest of the medical world very important information to be aware of. Thank you. Drs. Maxfield and Shah! 😊
Informative. Watchable. Lovable. Thanks fellas! Another appreciated and super video. Outtakes so fun too.
OMG!!! I was just about to purchase vitamin C!!! THANK YOU❤
Thank you for such an INFORMATIVE video! It was worth every MINUTE of watching! ❤❤❤
Love this vid!! Thank you for breaking this down. I am using new Remedy for Dark Spots. Can't wait to see some results. Love the Remedy for dry lips!!
Awesome video. Stayed through the entire video because incredibly informative and educative video. Not one percent boring🎉
Thank you for including Timeless Vitamin C at the end of your video, as I've noticed a HUGE brightening effect since I incorporated this product into my skincare regimen, which includes moisturizer, sunscreen and Tretinoin at night. I'm also a big fan of Korean skincare and since I've been using Korean sunscreens and moisturizers, I've noticed a world of difference! I'm surprised at how affordable they are, too!
You two are wonderful and thank you for the informative content!
Could u share K brand sunscreen and moisturizer you use?
Thanks for this video!! I found it comprehensive yet succinct. 💕
Wonderful, love all the information. I don't just want products recommended to me I want the ingredient details, how it works, what works best and what works for my combo sensitive skin. Worth the time to watch this whole video.
Great video! By the time I got to the end, I was shocked to see it was over 40 minutes cause it didn't feel like it at all. And please keep the bloopers coming! 😬
You two are great. I trust you and the information you provide. Thank you from a whole lot of us.
Very long video yet very FUN. Thanks!
Love the video. You guys were on fire!!!! We need a part two for the ascorbyl glucoside. I used to buy DE but discovered Timeless so I won’t be purchasing that any more.
Great content! I'm 100% a CE Ferulic fan!
Another great Vitamin C product that is taking the market by storm is a European brand, Geek & Gorgeous 15% C E Ferulic. Its made fresh every week so its not sitting about in a warehouse oxidizing! Ive been using it for a few years now and its absolutely fabulous. Made in Hungary and is cheap as chips!
What about Timelss????
This is one of my favorite videos! You guys are amazing. ❤
Thanks for this video on Vitamin C! I was about to give up on it because my face looked like a tomato, but when I used it once a week and slowly built up to everyday, it worked out good. Great stuff. I really notice a difference.
I started using the Numbuzin one after your recommendation and I've recently started using the one from Prequel...love both
Love the trivia, you guys don't need much editing, just keep it going 😂
I like the deep dive. Very informative.
YES!!!!! Thank you Doctors for finally doing a video on VITAMIN C!!!
I use exponent beauty. I comes in powder form and when your ready to use it you mix it with Hyronic acid that u purchase with the vitamin C powder.
LOVE your deep dives! So so helpful!
Appropriately hyped it is! Thank you for this long informative video and the clarifications and product suggestions. I wish I watched this before I wasted money on all La Roche Posay's vitamin C serums. I got all their serums but the vitamin C really irritates my skin.
wow, the timeliest video of all times! Literally was sitting and trying to choose a vit C product to purchase. My last 2 attempts were a fail as both products gave me irritation. Jumping to watch right now!
My friend swears by the beauty counter one. It's at ulta..
Well, I must say I loved this video!!! I always had trouble chosing a vit C and now I'm much more informed!!! Thank you. Sadly a lot of your suggestions are not available in Portugal but even so now I already know what to buy!!!!😊
Timeless Vit C is one of my multiple purchase products. Another good Vit C is made by Stratia C+C Serum
Super helpful doctors- thank you!
Great information! Thank you! ! I’ve always found that Vit C has helped my skin. Now I want to play around with the different types of Vit C and pair them with specific actives to get more even better results.
My skin loves Vit C. I'm currently using Prequel's Vit C and love it!! All of Prequel's products are amazing and affordable.
Thanks for this deep dive, guys! ❤️
I have been using Timeless 10% L-Asornic E and F serum. I have very sensitive skin and avoided vitamin C for years. I have been very pleased with this product. I may try Paul’s choice 15% next.
Thank you!!!! Can you do a vitamin C score since there are soooo many more. Focusing on sensitive skin.
Thanks for this information! Would not use the product in capsules unless the capsules are recycleable. Love you guys!
Outstanding discussion and review of all things vitamin C. Loved that you both enjoyed geeking out on this important ingredient.
I have been using the Timeless 20% for over 5 years and have had zero problems with it.
Great video as always! And I’m a big fan of Medik8 products which are effective and gentle
But unfortunately their products have fragnance 😩
Been using Timeless for years love it!!😊
is 10% better or 20%?
Thank you for your work! ❤
You put together so much informationfor us. You’re so generous!
Why did I think these two were a couple... the connection is just wow!
Yes they actually compliment each other but they aren't.
Hey guys you are awesome!
Can you please make a skin care routine video for people who work as welders?
What type of skin care routine you would recommend, and protect yourself ive noticed a lot of guys don't care when it comes to UV radiation from the sparks and outdoor exposure to sun.
Love that you broke down the iodine test. It's so easy to buy into stuff like that when you don't know how it works and its very disingenuous of companies to market that way.
Can you do a vitamin C alternative video with current products? What other antioxidants can we look out for?
Great Video, i learnt a lot 🙏
I enjoy the Loreal one a lot. 🎉
Love this video. I also love taking some of the smart type language you use and incorporate them into my day. I.e perfect marker, surrogate marker. Yasss love me some language.
Love your videos and this one is great. Two comments: I recently read that ceramic is owned by L’Oréal which still does animal testing. Can you verify and is that a concern for you? Second, I’m loving the new Remedy products. You guys rock. Thank you for all you do
I love Maelove glow maker (vitamin C). I’m surprised you don’t cover Maelove more on this channel. Great video though! 🌺 Karen
I've heard a lot of people talk about this brand. I was hoping they would cover it.
I'm disappointed that it was left out. I've gone through several bottles and it's amazing. The price point makes it accessible for more people, as well.
I love Maelove! I use glow maker and their moonlight (retinal) serum. I have dermatologist diagnosed roseaca and neither serum irritates my sensitive skin.
Yes, the vitamin C videooooooo!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks so much for your great info! Love watching you guys!
I love the L’Oréal Vit C +E + Sal Acid. It’s made my pores disappear & my skin glow.
Mine oxidized so quickly. How did you store your bottle? Any tips ?
@@tiggernix I keep the lid on tight & in a drawer, but it does go orange by the time I’m 3/4 done. L’Oréal claims that the formula is highly stable & still potent & effective even if it darkens, but I haven’t seen evidence to support that. I’d like to get a pump for my next bottle, it would at least help with the exposure to air, I hate the droppers.
I keep my vitamin C in the refrigerator. I’ve had a bottle for 11 months now that has not oxidized at all. It’s still looks like white wine.
Hot and flashy did a ph test on this one with others but L’Oréal came in green with a high PH , it was awful! It’s supposed to be in the yellowish orange range and it was way off. I wouldn’t recommend!
@@cleopatra72 From what I understand, the SA helps the Vit C to penetrate deeper, so while it has a higher pH, it’s effective while being less irritating than a lower pH formula.
I have eczema prone/sensitive skin & it’s never caused me any issues, but has worked beautifully.
I love these kind of videos 🥰 I've also used geek and gorgeous vitamin c. Used a lot of different vitamin c last couple of years. Might go back to that one or the numbuzin
I’ll listen to you guys cuz your skin looks amazing. A lot of these skin care gurus on CZcams trying to sell skin product look like dogshit.
Worth the wait~ thank you for this! Love you guys! ❤
Good video. I appreciate the information and your opinions. Thank you !
Thank you for the thorough review of good Vitamin C products. You previously recommended Maelove's Glow Maker. I understand there are so many products out there. Has it moved to the bottom of your list now (i.e., not a high recommendation)?
My main concern about SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is its very cheap bottle dropper packaging and the stability of the product
Love your videos are really informative’s!!! thanks so much Dr Max & Dr Shah. ❤❤👏🏻👏🏻
Great timing! I was researching about L ascorbic acid vs ascorbyl glucoside. And which brands are not oily. I hate heavy oily serums since I already have an oily face.
I am going to keep pestering you to please do a segment skin care for people taking immunusuppressant drugs, particularly for lifetime. My skin changed dramatically immediately upon transplant, and mean while I was still in the hospital. I've had to reorganize my entire routine due to new concerns. tis include squamous cell cancers emerging, discolored skin around eyelids, wrinkles out of no where. Aged 10 years overnight! i have learned so much from your platform. Please think of us who are trying to make the best out of this new phase of our skin's life.
I’m a geek. Watched the whole thing. Going to try the Medik 8.
Vitamin C is a must in my routine. I've used it on my face for years. I am curious, doctors, your opinions on the Maelove products?
I loved this video and didn't find it obnoxiously long at all. It was educational and confirmed for me that the Drunk Elephant vitamin C serum and the Numbuzin 5+ serum are good products! One thing I'm wondering about is that Vichy vitamin C serum that many dermatologist content creators talked about before, saying it was the most similar to the Skinceuticals formulation. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned in this video, which is so engaging that I watched from beginning to end! I love how the video is formatted like a research paper LOL. Research question, intro, evidence of specific ingredients, resulting products, conclusion. Very easy to understand!
The Numbuzin serum is fantastic. More than just a vitamin C-loaded serum, it has a whole bunch of lovely ingredients like gluthathione, alpha arbutin, etc. It's a one stop shop for brightening, and at the moment it's in a very special category of "this remains even if I had to get rid of everything else".
I use Timeless 20% and love it. Occasionally I run out of the product and don’t always get it ordered right away. When it does arrive, I see the brightening difference that you don’t notice when in regular use. I’ve actually made my own serum from “lab muffin” which worked well but after awhile, the process of cleaning bottles, etc. just wasn’t my jam. I guess I’m a slacker.
Love this video. The bloopers are great. 😂
The Ordinary 's pure L-Ascorbic acid powder mixed with 3-4 drops of Reservatrol with Ferulic acid (also from the ordinary) is my go to product and much more affordable.
This is the reason I love long form video, thank you so much, Dr. Maxfield and Dr. Shah! I love hearing about studies and all the nuance you both share. I've been using the Maelove glow maker vitamin c and like it - no irritation and I do think it has a brightening effect.
Love that you tackled this. Something I learned (perhaps erroneously) a long time ago is that Vit C actually can accentuate or accelerate a sunburn, and that that was the reason to use it at night as opposed to day. I am red headed and so turn red instantly. Can you fact check me on this? Maybe just an old wives tale I learned.
That’s what I have heard as well . Would love to have their response to this
Thanks for the info! Was wondering if you could review or give your POV on the AB OMG Fascia blaster??
Skincare Kings ❤️
really surprised you didn't mention Maelove vitamin c serum. It has great ingredients similar to the skinceuticals
Great information and I learned so much! What are your recommendations on deploying Vitamin C on the body? These products are for face but would love to learn more about how to address hands, arms, legs, etc. ❤
I have a very simple skincare routine with only cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen plus vitamin C in the morning / retinol in the evening.
Therefore i‘m glad about your opinion at the end, because i value it so much.
The Geek & Gorgeous vitamin c has worked really well for me with no irritation. I try to protect the bottle from sunlight but it still has a tinge of color by the time I’m half through the bottle. I also like it because it doesn’t have the ‘hot dog’ smell. I’d love to find a similar product in an air tight container.
Try putting in fridge ❤❤❤❤
I do and it lasts for months , I was amazed❤❤❤
Yes, I keep it in the fridge! As new after 5 month still
I picked up the extra bottle from G&G. I decant some into the extra bottle. The rest of the product is kept in the fridge.
I came here to say G&G!! I love it but strangely I DO get the hot dog water smell from it. I wonder if that’s person-dependent.
I’ve heard good things about the Benton Vitamin C, but that it’s a bit heavy so better used at night
I’ve tried so many brands and types of vitamin C over the last 6 years but nothing has given me results like Tranexamic acid 🤩 I’ll never give it up
I agree but they do completely different things
what brand of tranexamic acid do you use?
👏👏👏 its all what i needed to hear about vit C, thank you🙏
Well FINALLY you mention my favorite C+E+ferulic acid product, Timeless! Why pay more? My skin likes it; I can even use it on my eyelids around my sensitive eyes.
Timeless is cheap only for you americans 😂😂
Timeless C E Ferulic comes in a airless pump now and that makes a big difference in terms of stability. In fact it takes much longer to turn orange-brown than the Skinceutics product
Can't buy Timeless Vit C in the UK
I tried and tried, but I couldn't get past the horrible smell. Nausea every single time. My current a.m. serum is Cetaphil Healthy Renew with peptides. Really loving it.
@kerrycork58
Interesting because I've never noticed that it has any odor although suppose it does have some. It's not an added scent; probably just what the ingredients smell like. Going to look until your Cetaphil product because want to try some peptides.
I love the biolumin c serum and moisturizer from dermalogica ❤
love your videos! just bought 2 remedy products can wait to try them out!! can u do a video on castor oil and skin, hair etc? seems to be the rage right now and so many videos and skin/hair care claims
I absolutely LOVE Vitamin C. I have been using it for years and have seen a noticeable difference in my skin. I have lots o' freckles and they have lightened, my overall complexion is more even and it is partially thanks to L-Ascorbic Acid. I am currently using Prequel because it has the pure form at 15% and my sensitive skin loves it! Previously used Timeless, which is also great but a little too harsh. Even their 10% which is kinda weird. But you gotta find what works for you!
Hai! The Vit C serum I have available uses the Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate precursor as opposed to Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate and it was not mentioned in the vid. Would you say it's still an effective active ingredient? I'll be sure to change it otherwise. Big fan of your informational content always!
