My 6 yo said, "I want to live there. It's so beautiful," in a hushed whisper. She's also super into the pink.
So sweet! And who isn't into pink!?!? 🩷
Aw, this comment made giggle. That's really adorable!😄
Time to give her room a mini makeover😊
I love this comment so much
Has she watched the Aristocats??? Madames mansion estate looks just like this and I have an entire Pinterest board for it because it’s so fricken CUTE !!!!
the troll needs to keep the focus on their own hair, makeup and clothes. As always, you look marvelllousssss and the makeover again LOOKS AMAZING!!
I suspect we criticize what we are most subconsciously worried about in ourselves.
Lately I been feeling that what trolls say....usually the exact opposite is true. 🙂
I am trying to decide if you took the troll seriously or if you trolled back.
Alexandra is way too creative to get some cookie-cutter makeover. I love the clothes she chooses and her hair is beautiful. Trolls are jealous, sad people and no one should pay one bit of attention to them.
Reply
Ignore them!! They're jealous bullies.
Can we love on Andreanne for a minute? She seems like such a delightful, lovely human. It’s thrilling to see someone like her get a room makeover this spectacular.
I thought so too!
I know right, I love her vibe. The room suits her so well 😍 💕
💗💗💗
I totally agree! ❤ She was delightful to watch in the intro and she was so kind and classy at the reveal! I love when Alexandra just kind of giggles and says "right?" 🥰😁😉
She was so cute!! Her and Alexandra are written in the same font. I feel like they’d be really good friends somehow. ❤
My mother, the wallpaper Queen, used wallpaper border for everything! She liked to ‘frame’ doorways 😍 and windows😍. She also ‘framed’ gallery walls and massive frameless oil paintings to make them appear even larger (leave about 6” between painting and border). She made our humble homes absolutely fantastic works of art with wallpaper. ❤
So sweet 🍭💙
As a 61-year-old grandmother, I marvel at how styles cycle through. I see so many references to the decor of the late 80’s-90’s in this space and I’m blown away that anyone could revel in it. But that’s just how it goes from generation to generation. I’m sure that my mother would have been surprised by the amount of love that’s been recently shown for the midcentury modern aesthetic. She was glad to see that style leave but I think it’s great. I think Alexandra accurately recreated the look and it’s lovely to see such a delighted homeowner! I love James’ funny editing touches!!
I'm cracking up, too, because as a 41 year old this was basically what my bedroom looked like between the ages of 7-12. LOL! I was all about those florals, lace, ruffles, and frills. Somehow this space looks amazing, though! It's definitely not exactly my aesthetic but I'm more maximalist than minimalist so a little is totally ok with me.
I’m 46. This is also my childhood bedroom. Dusty rose, burgundy and green. With wallpaper borders. It all comes full circle.
It seems that the styles cycle through but they have something different about them, a new twist on the 80s, 90s
@@kriscox4019 right?? My fave bedspread set was big pink roses and the accent colors were like sages and white. And pink and white striped ruffles. LOL And I had one beloved curtain (it was a thrift find hence the only one) that was a dusty rose-mauve chiffon-y with of course a ruffle. It really is funny to see all the trends cycle back. Now I know how my parents felt!
I am 52 and my teen bedroom was basically this exact pink with all the ruffles. I made every possible patchwork combination pillow with matching frill. It was super cozy & I loved it. This is very nostalgic
I just really wish you didnt get better help as a sponsor. I know that you must pay the Bills, but you influence people and this service has so many complaints including breach of privacy.
Thanks for the warning. Also i dont get the concept of online psychology because if someone really needs help for real then they need to see a live person. and if it is something not that serious you might as well check free youtube testimonials and talk to a friend or neighbor. But i never checked so i wouldnt know except that many years ago i did a minor in psychology at university and they said online psychology doesnt work for many reasons.
@@addhoc256 that isn't true. I live in NYC and the commute from work, school to home for many is time-consuming and grueling, also many do still work from home now. Where I live I'd have to travel 40 mins to get to the therapist of my choice, so I really appreciate online therapy.
Also my partner was able to work from home all through his chemotherapy. By helping others it kept his spirits up as he focused out and was still able to be a productive member of society and still help his 22 clients per week, so I guess I've experienced another side of online therapy and understand why it's so popular now. I don't use Better Help but on a whole I'm not against it at all.
Seriously, watching this reveal again, I just don’t understand how you do it. This is such an art. You could have a television show, product line and coffee table books. You are absolutely one of the most talented designers out there. Particularly considering that you have to work within tight constraints of time, space, and money. There are lots of wonderful designers who make similarly beautiful spaces, but that’s when the sky’s the limit in all categories.
When I saw that chair my jaw actually dropped, it's so stunning
I am blown away by this one. You transported her space to the English countryside. The layering is sublime. Well done team AG!
* Laughs from the English Countryside *
But without the mould and damp.
Do NOT listen to the trolls!! I think your style rocks (including hair and makeup) not to mention your design genius!!! Love this makeover as always ❤
Adorable! A large plant (palm or fig) would look great in that corner next to the bookcase.
yep ... a missed opportunity for a plant.. i was thinking a super long touch the floor hanging one...
Yes I agree!!! A banana plant or a hanging string of pearls succulent in a brass planter would be chef’s kiss!
@@moreolivia yes!! on the same page for sure!!!
Don't listen to trolls! Nothing is wrong with your looks. You are being you and sharing what you do which is positive. Trolls are just unhappy bullies who have to hurt others to make themselves feel superior so don't let them!!! Hugs!
While not my esthetic, I am absolutely blown away with how you brought each piece together with the colors, textures and ambiance. Regarding trolls, either block or ignore, or better yet, pay someone else to remove nasty comments before you see them. Not worth your time and energy and your better help therapist would probably agree with me.
I wish you were in Europe ❤
Graham is so talented. OMG, I love him.
He is truly amazing. Hope he's having as good a time making all these ingenious items as we have watching him make them
💯 We need MORE Graham!
Love him, as well. BUT, I noticed he was wearing a pearl necklace a couple of episodes back....when did that start? LOVE IT!
@@kdbadresinghis there meaning behind wearing the pearls?
Graham should be cloned. The world needs more people like him.
Hi Alexandra & Team! I’m 60 years old and fascinated by your Studio and Tiny Space makeovers! Next year I’ll be downsizing from a 2 bed/2 bath apartment to a basement studio and I’m both excited and NERVOUS! I’ve never lived in a studio before and I’ve already started to declutter ruthlessly. Your videos have given me so many ideas as well as laughs-you and your team have such team spirit and authenticity. 💜
You'll do well. Think of it as an adventure and only surround yourself with things that you absolutely love. I'm 60 also and may be downsizing in a year or two. Good blessings to you.
I've lived in studio apartments most of my adult life. And it is so much fun creating spaces in such a small space. Remember you can use tall bookshelves as walls. You can paint or use peel and stick paper on the back side and use it as a divider, and hang pictures on i. t Bookshelves in general are great dividers. So are dressers. That is just one idea. There is so much you can do in a small space. I am always surprised at how much i never need a couch. We always end up at the round dining table. Somehow food is always involved. Good luck to you.
I'm 70 and grew up with a twin of the coffee table. My only add to the room would be a combo floor lamp/table to soften the empty corner and angle that gorgeous chair to create a reading nook. With that one change you'll add another function to the sweet cozy room.
ever thought of making over a small space for a senior person?
I live in a 130-year-old apartment and I am definitely taking inspiration from this makeover because I absolutely love it!
Same here! Even noticing the difference in that fringe on the sofa makes, and the wall paper by the mantle. I'm going thrifting next week in search of inspo.
@@Sarara-mv5sx Good luck!
That thrifted chair is an INCREDIBLE find
This is not my style. But I love it! It turned out beautiful! Alexandra, you do not need a stylist. You have your own unique style. It's perfect.
James is such a good editor wow
Whenever I’m having a bad day I just think of Graham’s pearls and instantly life is good again.
Puka shells. It's very 70/80s vibe. Trust me, I was there. 🌼
Love Graham’s, “Don’t jinx it.” James’s editing was so perfect for this episode.
I got a cameo appearance!!!!....well, sort of! 😅 Thank you James for the acknowledgement because it was hard work lol!!!!!! As usual, Team AG knocked it out of the ball park. The entire Team AG's hard work is our reward with other weekend videos!!! So proud of each and every one of you. Keep it going!
You did a great job. 👍🏼
I saw you!
Okay that fringe looks so good and like custom made, never would have thought of doing that
Same. I'm eyeballing my sofa now, though. Thinking some fringe would look fabulous! 🛋👀🤨
@@linjaysha Looks great but I doubt it would last in any cat-inhabited home
@@TamarLitvot Good point! My cat would be soooo happy! 😄😻
Even though I am a literal grandmother, this granny-chic is a bit much for me; although I can always find some great ideas in your small space designs. I watched Nick Lewis comparing the favored styles of Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z members, so it all totally makes sense that your client and I have different tastes. 😎I’m glad she loves her room! ❤❤
LOL I’m 18 and when I tell you I am so jealous of this room it is such a dream I am obsessed 😭 gonna go watch nick Lewis’ video now.
This would be my nightmare. Glad you pleased your customer, that is 100% most important.
First off let me say ignore the trolls! I come here week after week, month after month because of your authenticity! YOU are unapologetically YOU! And I LOVE IT!!!! I felt that you hit this out of the ballpark! Andreanne loved it clearly! I see comments all the time we need more color! Well, we got more color and I love it! I don't know how you make patterns looks so great together, your gifted. The fireplace is OMG! Graham you rock! I also loved that flower lamp on the mantle...so sweet! And lastly, I was so happy to see you put a custom cushion in the window! Such a nice spot to sit, have morning coffee or read a magazine while getting some vitamin D. Another thoughtful makeover!
Brb painting every room (and ceilings) in my house jawbreaker pink 👀
No but same 🤭
@@AlexandraGater I am painting my kitchen cabinets sulking room pink today though.. trying to keep up! 😅
@@kaycerushI am thinking about the same exact color for my Kitchen cabinets, as well. Either that or Retro Pink by Behr Dynasty paint...the Dusty Rose look is divine.
You and the team absolutely deserve 1M followers ❤
Everything about that room is my idea of 70s hell. But I'm still incredibly impressed that you took the contents of someone's mind and made it real. I hate it in every way. But I also kind of love it.
I don't know why I cry at the room reveal in every single video, especially seeing the Befores and Afters. It's almost as though I'm the owner not them. So happy for them! Your work is beautiful and has exceeded my expectations in every video I've watched so far (I'm a new subscriber). I hope you keep these makeovers coming!
Grandma here got nervous with the mention of wallpaper trim, but it added just another level of cute! Congratulations on the beautiful design. 🎉
I too (age 75) had that reaction to the idea of the scalloped trim, but it really works in this room.
Same! (And I’m 56) I remember when wallpaper borders were in (often fruit or flowers, put up at ceiling height in kitchens and dining rooms) and when they went OUT! I helped several friends take them down, and a good time was had by none. I thought, “A wallpaper border? Oh, NO!”, but it fits right in with the ‘grandma-chic’ aesthetic!
Alexander, you outdid yourself. this isn't even my aesthetic but it made me smile throughout. you are a beautiful lady both inside and out, ignore the trolls.
Your style is one of the reasons why I watch your channel. I love how you're like your spaces: authentic and very aesthetic without being plasticky. I feel really sorry for whoever took the time to try to make you feel 'less than'. They must be very unhappy.
Gorgeous, as always.
I know it's hard to thrift special pieces on time crunches, but I would love to see more makeovers with bigger thrifted items (like the chair, coffee table and frame).
Umm, you literally have the best style in your aesthetic. Every time you’re on screen I’m like “ooo that skirt oooo those earrings!” Gaterbug you are gorgeous and your style compliments you perfectly ❤
100 percent agree
@@SekolahRimbaMalaysia Adding another 100% agreement to yours!
My favorite makeover by far not because of the decor but the recipient Andrienne (not sure of spelling) I like how detailed she was in knowing what she wanted but letting go and trusting Alexandra, then her expression of appreciation at the end. Everyone is appreciative but it was something about her.
Whether you like the end result of this space or not, Team A.G. has again met their clients brief.
Well done, Team A.G, for doing this.😊
the Dragonfly Inn ♥ what a wholesome reference
As a devoted Gilmore Girl fan (I even enjoyed watching that show for years with my beloved late Mother), that reference made my heart sing.
Loving the secret entomology lesson amid the decorating process 😁
I miss seeing James -- wish he would make some long-distance cameo appearances.
as usual...in awe...YOU AND GRAHAM WITH THE PEEL AND STICK WALLPAPER...i literally don't know HOW YOU ACCOMPLISHED THAT. and the paint job...perfection. Another bravo for team AG.
This looks so cosy! But a checkered fireplace, guess I don’t have enough of the UK gene🫢
I just love how you listen to your clients, put it all together with high function, and end up with beautiful, livable spaces! Bravo!
That Chair is GORGEOUS!
The whole room fits so well together even though there are so many different styles and shapes!
Nice...Granny Chic...who knew... Graham knocked it out of the park with that fireplace surround
Rarely have I ever wanted to steal every single thing from a room but this one takes the cake. I want allll of it! So so perfect
Placing a new fireplace frame and mantle on an old fireplace frame is genius. Putting the fringe on a sofa is genius. Lots of great ideas to change up a look. I love the pink wall paint. Beautiful room.
This room has to be my most favorite one you've done to date! The fringe on the couch and that rug!!! Stunning beautiful absolutely gorgeous!
Saturday morning routine! Got my coffee, ready to watch this makeover!😍
That rug. THE FRINGE! genius.
This is the most PERFECT eclectic grandma core room I would’ve sobbed at the first sight 😭😭
I don't blame you for being obsessed with Jawbreaker paint color, it's beautiful!
THANK YOU thank you thank you Graham and AG for FINALLY using hard wood in one of your projects. My sister got me into watching your videos and now I can’t stop lol! I’m a hobby woodworker and love working with a range of hard woods and was desperately waiting for Graham to finally use some for one of the projects. I’m not a hater on any pine…. But when it come to furniture or mantel pieces I love me some beautiful wood WITHOUT any stain. Let the wood speak for itself! Also Graham you nailed that fireplace 100%!!!! Love your and AG’s work and creativity!
I honestly still can't get over how that fireplace looks against all the other colors in the room. I adore it. I live for it. I die for it.
I am always amazed at Graham’s crazy talent and skill. Like… WOW. I love every single one of his creations!!!!!
In the 80's we called tha trim "Wallpaper border" I love how everything old is new again.
80s chic here and remember this well
I missed seeing team AG these last few weeks. Love watching you bring these rooms together and making the clients so happy. ❤
Alexandra,
This room make over is beautiful! In the 1980s my favorite color was Dusty Rose so that tells you my age and this beautiful paint color is the new dusty rose for our current era. For the last 30 years I am into Jefferson Blue and Patriotic by Ralph Lauren but, it may be because I live in VA and history is at my door step. About 5 years ago my nephew who works and lives in NYC (graphic designer) has me interested in turquoise for clothes and jewelry but as for decor, drapes, etc I love the darker tones of blue and I love sage green. I have an Amish oak fire place on wheels but if I am in my own condo (goal by this Fall) I would love to beef up the fire box surround with a beautiful tile and a higher mantle top. Since I was a child at my grandmother's 1800 built house I have always loved bookshelves on each side of the mantle and my Dad lives in a 1929 built bungalow and they have bookcases on each side too. Right now I am currently renting a 1940 flat that is 610 square foot and even though I am hoping not to live here for a long time I really want to make it look nice. Since I moved in I haven't invited anyone over but my new goal is for a surprise party for my Dad for his bday June 15th. I have so much to do as I am still full of boxes and my storage unit is packed. I may go and by some nice fabric and nice wood and stain the boards as make shift shelves on top of all my packed boxes. I am greatly overwhelmed and the organizing companies will only come if I had a 2 bedroom. Working 11 hour days at my job leaves me pooped by the time I drive home which is a 45 min job. Every video of yours is wonderful and you ALWAYS give me inspiration.
On another note, I wonder if these trolls have a CZcams channel close to a mill subscribers and a wonderful published book? I bet not! I think if you wore a flour sack dress and ribbons in your hair made out of toilet paper you would still be beautiful. I loved Instagram when I first set up my account. It was a wonderful outlet for me as I have always been a loner. I have never had a nice female friend to hang out with. My Mom passed away from cancer in 2021 she was my flee market, yard sale, coffee cafe , church buddie. The last 4 months I have so many negative people giving me their 2 cents on Instagram. I am not rich but I am a saver, I am not a bragger. I still wear Kasper suits from college days to my job and church. My favorite store is Home Depot to raid the free wood pile and I love hardware stores. I have been beading since I was 9 sewing since I was 5. I like to fix my own cars if it's something I am able to do. I made a cool necklace a couple years ago out of engine oil seals because they are copper. I am interested in things others are not. We live in a free land thank God. I wanted to tell one troll one day that when they point a finger at someone, they have 3 coming back at them. For now I have left Instagram. I guess I have let the trolls win. I will just enjoy CZcams channels such as your's and craft videos and get going on my little place. Have a wonderful evening,
Rebekah
What is it that Graham, "CANNOT DO"! He's very talented.
Aww I was rly hoping u’d keep the green tiles of the fireplace and put rly intricate moulding on the white part above or smth :(
Graham is the star of this show. Alexandra often has good ideas but he's the one that executes because he's got the knowledge, expertise, and skills. Oh, and shocker, Alexandra likes the paint colour. It's pink like all her paint colours. If I ignore the colour of the paint, I do get learn some new stuff from Graham each time.
the client wanted pink?? what else was she supposed to do lmao
If you just want Graham's content maybe ask him if he would bring back his channel? @Handymangraham
I can watch Graham work all day long. Crazy amazing the talent.
I always start Alexandra's videos with the question: "What's going to be wavy this time?" 😅
Alexandra, please post more often. The world needs you. Do you see how miserable it is on instgram right now?
RIGHT???!!!!
How does she not have a million followers?!
What’s going on on Instagram?!
@@rosey_ie You're not alone! I'm in the dark about insta, too (maybe that's a good thing for us??) 😅
Disappointed in the continuous Better Help sponsorship and covering the gorgeous green marble.
The rest of the room is super cute! I think trying to do an inherently collected and curated style in 2-3 days will always be an uphill battle. Of the eclectic and grandmillennial chic rooms you've done, this has been the best by far. I am definitely thinking of ways to use that pink color in every room!
Love: fireplace, thrifted chair, gold sofa, wallpaper, TV art, framed print, wall color, mantle lamp. Work fine: coffee table, rug, floor lamp, bookshelves. Would have chosen differently: curtains, pillows, Bambi ceramic. Overall -- a delicious confection, and the client seems thrilled.
I looovvveee everything but I would love her own painting of the old man hung instead of the etsy print. 💐 Great job with this makeover 💓
I would have cried - this is so stunning- truly one of those projects where it all comes together with those final touches - such a vibe, your team is next level inventive and resourceful and it shows more and more each new episode JUST WOW
I LOVE the ford bronco shirt!!!
The scallop wallpaper trim was the perfect finishing touch to round off the Grandma chic vibe - it makes me think of gingerbread houses. I’d imagine it’s a bit challenging to install, but it was totally worth the effort here.
Finally, some Dave appreciation. His painting skills are superb and it really adds another level of professionalism to the AG makeover. The blue toned pink paint was really lovely in this makeover.
I love how you didn’t stress over the hearth terra cota tile. I think I would have over thought it, but your design choices nailed it! Love love love!! 💕
This makeover has to be my favorite to date, so warm and colorful!❤
OH MY GOSH THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COZY WARM HAPPY FUN ECCLECTIC DREAM. Love it so much!
While not my design aesthetic, the room came out fabulously. Great work, as always! Graham is a must keep!
This room is stunning!! While I am a huge fan of pink, I wondered about painting the whole room and ceiling. But it's gorgeous! Every detail came together beautifully in this room. I would just sit in there all day, getting nothing done. 😍😍
I love how her dress is matching the vibe of this room!!! It’s meant to be ❤
This makeover is amazing with so many things to look at. Young people like the vinage style and older generation want modern. Styles will mix and match thanks to designers like you. Great job Alexander.
I agree. This look was popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century. It was popular again in the early 80’s and has been popular again a few years now. I’m 70 and really like modern decor.-Susan
Graham is a genius! That fireplace! ❤ I love what y’all did with the walls. The scalloped wall paper is such a cute touch. The colors, rug, furniture, decor, curtains-nailed it! 🩷
Sue here: homeowner is right - the makeover is absolute perfection! Alexandra - your hair and outfit - absolute perfection too 😊💚💙🧡!
As a grandma chic millennial, this one really hit for me. Great job! I still wish you’d show more of the going through the different things you guys did with them.
What did you do with the cool painting that was there in the beginning?! I loved that so much!! Great transformation though 👍
I wondered that too. It seemed to have been strategically placed, wanting a piece of the action.
That Troll is a fool!! I'm always screenshotting your cute clothes and Google searching them to buy!! You're literally my style icon! 😍
There are often links yo her clothing in the video descriptions....might save yourself some google time!!
Okay this is literally making me feel extremely guilty. AG team I have a confession. Recently, Alexandra has been mentioning more often her analytics. I am the one that skips to the end to see the reveal and then goes back and watches from the beginning. It is how I read my books as well. I find I can't enjoy the journey without knowing the ending. I hope it is not messing up your analytics..... because I am not going to stop. LOVE your work.
Troll's are apparently so insecure about themselves, shame on you! Your jealousy is tragic! Alexandra is confident yet humble her qualities are appreciated and her Design is always Beautiful ! She makes us all Happy! I feel like crying this makover is my Favorite!
Great makeover but I don't like those pink striped shower curtains looks cheap. The ironing board seats upholstery or the bathroom tile looking fireplace. I'm inspired every time I see your makeover. Inspired both of great and not so great ideas. Keep em coming ❤
Be yourself. You're adorable and I love all your room makeover
Graham is awesome, such skills!!
I like the green tile on the fireplace and think it would look great with medium wood tone and the green and ivory wallpaper. I’m glad they just made a new surround that fits over.
the reveal had me gasping
That’s called a wallpaper border and it was everywhere in the eighties. It was cool at the time, but I was glad to see it go and don’t care to see it come back. Lol
This is so amazing! It's like you've drawn this woman's self-portrait in three dimensions - it's clear she feels like you tapped right into her aesthetic - just magnificent.
It's like a Cotswold B&B! Very cozy. The new fireplace surround is genius.
Have you heard about the issues with Better help? Maybe you should check them out before partnering with them in the future...don't lose your morals just for a little bit of money... I love the makeover though...
I heard BetterHelp is using customers’ private info in ads and has related legal issues. Not good.
What grandmother has all these patterns & colors, pink walls, & pink striped curtains?
Mine did, although not necessarily all at the same time. She was born in England in the 1930s. Lots of florals, patterns, and rich colors. Stuff that takes half a century to collect.
The fireplace wow! And loved that sofa trick. Really beautiful, congrats!
Wow, wow! The makeover is amazing! Your hair your make up, everything looks so fantastic - professional and camera ready. Applause! Also, thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Every time I learn something new and inspirational. I always have an aha moment, usually audibly! You are absolutely genius. I do Home Staging and redesign, but still wish that I had your talent and skill!
You posting always brings me so much joy ❤❤
I love your clothing style! It's a little too this or that, but it is totally you and absolutely adorable. A professional would wreck it. Alexandra doing Gator is the best ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
