She Lost Her Apartment Then Built This Stunning Tiny House For Her and Her Daughter!

- The rental market is tough and many live in constant threat of having their sense of housing security pulled from under their feet. When Cat was told that her apartment had been sold and she needed to find a new place for her and her daughter to live, she responded by building a dream tiny house which gave them both the security and the lifestyle they desired.
Now parked up on a rural property in Queensland, Australia, the tiny house has become an incredible home for Cat and her daughter. They live in community amongst friends on a beautiful section with plenty of space around them.
And their home is absolutely charming. Well designed to give both Cat and her daughter space and filled with beautiful elements that give this house a true sense of home, Cat has created not only a safe place to call home for her family, but also the freedom for her and her daughter to live an intentional life of their choosing.

Stunning home and surrounding nature
I'm so glad you chose this house to feature. It's just lovely. And the spot she found looks like something out of the Hobbit's shire! Her home is nestled in a patch of grass with interesting hillocks and trees surrounding it! ❤ Love, love, love it!

@@tikitribe5715 it would be nice if people could get together & purchase land for tiny homes. That way they can build a community of like-minded people & showcase how downsizing is good thing. Only problem is local council/government bureaucracy - usually about how to regulate & tax it!

@@Gg23beme She is renting the space from them and the building of the pad to put the trailer on was part of their rent upfront because it’s a permanent investment for the friends.

Yep, and I wouldn't stop smiling either, if I had this beautiful tiny home, on that land. She did a fantastic job designing her home. And I like the deal she made with the owner of the property. Regarding preparing the land for the tiny home for rent, and it is paid off. A win, win situation for both of them.

I understand you but not everybody is able to buy land because the price is too high or there isn't any land to buy, or don't want to buy land.

Well said! I do love that they added a dog because I think all kids need dogs especially when they are in this tiny home. It’s amazing. They have each other but that’s a special touch. I love how when you walk in It’s very different. this is a perfect tiny home that I would love to have! And she is teaching her daughter all about nature and patience and spending quality time together. That is so important. I am definitely not a city girl! I love the country as well. That bonfire is amazing and all of the gardening and healthy living she is teaching her daughter will hopefully carry-on to many generations.
I love how Bryce starts this video saying these wonderful things about living tiny. Sometimes I have a hard time finding the words when I explain it to people because of course they think I’m crazy. I know you don’t have to have a tiny house on wheels you could just have a tiny home, but there’s something about knowing you can pick this house up and move and not have to sell it and buy a new one. Makes it more special. I just need to find a tiny village because I don’t want to live by myself. I want to have a community.
How do I get this plan? I love it! You should sell this plan and make money off of it. I don’t know if just a picture of it is good enough for a builder but this is probably one of the nicest plans I’ve seen.

To be fair, she sold her apartment, then had to move out once it had sold
Hi Cat, if you are reading this. If you turn your hooks that connect the macrame gate 180 degrees they will be much less likely to release the gate if someone falls on it.
If you find doing that causes your clothing to catch on the hooks, I would suggest replacing the hooks with eyelets and mini carabiners which will also be much stronger.

I grew up on a farm 30 miles from every town, north to south, east to west. No better place to raise children. Love her tiny. Precious little girl. This is her forever home. She won't have to move again. Congratulations!
One of the nicest layouts Ive seen. As I'm 60 though, I'd want a bedroom downstairs. Other than that I wouldnt change much. She has made a lovely home for her and her daughter and I wish them both much happiness for the future.

I’ve loved all your featured tiny houses but this is the first time I’ve felt “I could live there”. It’s not as fancy or expensive as some, but it has what it needs and is bright and pretty

Beautiful home and setting. My favorite feature, although it was hard to pick just one, was the louvered spaces in both bedrooms. Provides visual interest & airflow when open & privacy when closed. Genius.

I’m always worried about the day the owners of the land decide they want it back. You have to have your own land or you are not in total control

She does not own the land….so that may become a problem down the road. That is the only issue I see, although there is other beautiful land if she’s ever forced to move.

I love the interview more. She is such a humble person to say sorry for the height of her bedroom but that is a fit for her. Her joy is splashing in her eyes, the way she talks and she is very keen to talk about her dog, clearly visible how much she loves him. It is a perfect platform for a mother daughter relationship - how cherishing it is to see she teaches her daughter everything she knows, it is a transition of love and knowledge and tradition - strengthening our bond with our family. This tiny house has opened up an relaxing array of her life that is also making her more beautiful - inside and out.

Just love the interior style of this tiny home, spacious on the main floor, plus the walkway between both of the bedrooms! The white interior reminds me of a scandinavian style home. Beautiful!

The tiny house is very nice but it's that landscape and being able to give her daughter and pet so much space and beauty and freedom to be outside that is SO priceless! Love the European design flair - they tend to be good with small spaces. Great vid!

I love her house. It is a great design and a great place for her daughter to grow up. I love the outdoors. A deck will enhance the house even more.
I love all the muted greens, and the white wood panelling inside. Perfect decor imo, exactly my kind of colours.
The outside of the house is really pretty too, so many tiny homes are black outside which I'm not a fan of personally, i prefer them to be white - but this is a really pretty colour.
I love the big bathroom with the washing machine. I also like the fact she didn't force her daughter to give up everything she owns. I know children don't need half the stuff we end up buying them, but at the same time, a lot of families who go tiny, often squeeze the kids in as an afterthought, but she allowed her daughter to continue being a child in her pink cosy bedroom, and a swing to play on in her big leafy garden.
Once they build a deck on and perhaps create a half covered extra room out there, that will really finish this home off perfectly, just to give them a little more room for reading, homework, crafts or having friends round. I don't know who's more cute, the adorable Mum, her lovely little girl, or the sweet lil pooch! What an idyllic life they're able to share together. Beautiful family in a beautiful house. ❤

This is definitely one of my favorites of all the beautiful homes you've shown. The setting is just glorious and her design ideas for her and her daughter were so well thought out. I loved the louvered walls -- great for visibility AND privacy. Brilliant! I also love the macrame child "gate". If she falls into it, she won't get bruised or injured. She'll just grab onto it and get back up. It's also a lovely way to separate the space. I think the idea is going to catch on. I love how she used the plexi glass to create the wall for the walkway, so the visual space isn't lost and the bathroom is so spacious feeling. Well done!!! Glad you found her and shared this home with us. What's not to love?!
These places are great and seem really idyllic. The only thing I'd be concerned about is some of the locations chosen and bush fires.

She is so blessed to have a generous friend like that. I have always been poor but the best friend I had since being a toddler was always rich. She has lots of land now and is a multi, multi millionaire (she inherited it ALL when her father died) She is very greedy and would never offer any of her land if I needed help. So sad. I finally realized a few years ago, that my mother had always been right about her. I was her friend, but she had never been my friend. Her mother died 1 year before mine, I constantly called her and did everything in my power to cheer her up! When my mother died, she called the first 2 months a few times but only cried about her mother, she did not want to hear one word about my mother. Then I did not hear a word from her for 1 year and then she called and left a voice message and all she said was.. "I thought you were my fucking friend!" I never called her back and never will!
Sad. But you are better off without her. She will never be happy no matter how much she has.
It hurts to realize that people you thought you knew - you really didn't. I've had that happen to me several times. It leaves a mark.

@@maried3717 Thank you so much for telling me that, I needed it! And you are right, I even feel better knowing that I dont ever have to talk to her again! You know, you hit the nail on the head, she has told me multiple times how miserable she is, so I always tried to cheer her up. I guess always getting everything (material) that she wanted, when she wanted it, has made her bored or something. When she goes out to eat she always orders 300 and 400 dollar bottles of wine. Personally, I think that is rediculous, especially since she grew up and lives here in the country in S.C. and knows nothing about wine. That money could buy food for starving little children😢 Anyway, I'm glad I dont have to hear her bragging anymore! God Bless You🙏

remember some time ago people build walk way like that and they have to crouch to the other side
now they know to lower it so they can walk comfortably and leave the bottom level as a sitting area
