El Estepario has become my favorite drummer practically overnight. He’s one of the most skilled drummers I’ve ever seen and is a great teacher as well. I’ve always wanted to start playing the drums but seeing this man in his element gave me the final push of motivation to actually work towards that goal. I can only dream of playing as skillfully as him some day but he’s definitely earned it through sheer practice and determination.

My teacher made me play this exact same exercise and he added triplets too which made it soooo confusing. Try playing a kick on the first and third note of the triplet while playing 8ths on the hi hat and remember, you must not flam at that snare hit
Avoiding flams between bass and snare can be one of the trickier things to get 100% right, you often hear even seasoned pros struggle with it a little bit. You have to be right on the money with both, any tiny discreprancy is immediately audible.
I'd say EES is single-handedly, having a huge impact on the next generation of drummers with his instruction videos... But let's be honest: he's using both hands and both feet... very effectively.
He doesn't have much instructional content out there. He's great but there are dozens of amazing drummers with much more education content. He's one of many inspiring drummers out there. There are more today than ever.

A good teacher is skilled at his craft but can relay the information for beginners, and this man is a perfect drum teacher 🙌🏼
