what about when you're doing super fast rudiments, and they sound flat

What you recommend for a drum to get that tight sound to work on rudiments? For sure no snare i have has that staccato sound.
Search for hts snare drum. Any high tension one will work. Drum corps and pipe drummers us kevlar drum heads on hts drums 🥁
