Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
This year in June LOVEBITES‘ first world tour starts in Europe. In September they will play their biggest headline show ever in Tokyo. After that LOVEBITES will have their US debut …

Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3

Lovebites’ world tour starts in June this year, so hopefully that should get them some well deserved further recognition. I’m seeing them in London in just a few weeks. Also, Japan is incredibly well provided for all female rock/metal bands, Band Maid being the best known, along with Aldious, Nemophila, Mary’s Blood, Trident, Lonesome Blue, Hanabie, Bridear, Cyntia and dozens of others, all are super talented.
"World tour" is a bit of a stretch. There are more people at corporate parties than the number of people they are going to perform in front of. They will probably bring a bunch of their merch and organize spontaneous markets where they will act as sellers themselves.

No other all female band since The Gogos? Well, then be surprised what Japan has to offer you 🙂
They have tons of them, especially in the rock and metal scene and you have to stand out to make it to the top there. So most of them have a "theme", like the white dresses of Lovebites. But all of that doesn't matter if you don't have the skills and the musicianship and this is where Lovebites really shines. Absolutely incredibly good musicians and writers.
Another really special one in that vein is Band-Maid, more on the hard rock side. So maybe you'll give them a listen, too.

Thanks for your reaction. Some people claim that the label and management are not working well and that is why LOVEBITES is not known in the West. It is not true.
I will write a few facts. So that you can imagine the big picture. Information that bassist Miha had created the first female Japanese metal supergroup appeared in the Japanese press in early summer 2016.
In May 2017, the first EP of LOVEBITES was released, in October 2017, the first Album was released.
Already in November 2017, LOVEBITES gave concerts outside of Japan (3 concerts in London).
In June 2018 (a year after the release of their debut EP) LOVEBITES received the GOLDEN GODS Award from Metal Hammer (in London). I advise you to find and read what famous bands and musicians received the GOLDEN GODS of Metal Hammer. You will see a lot of celebrities musicians and bands. The first GOLDEN GODS Awards took place in 2003. How many Japanese bands have received GOLDEN GODS since this prestigious Award existed? Personally, I know only one Japanese band that received the GOLDEN GODS (in 2015).
In 2018 LOVEBITES performed at major international rock festivals (in Japan, Germany and UK) :
- LOVEBITES performed on the Japan leg of the Warped Tour (the largest traveling music festival in the US).
- LOVEBITES performed at the world's largest annual heavy music festival Wacken Open Air. For reference: in 2018, LOVEBITES became the first all-female Japanese band to perform at 'Wacken' in the history of this festival (since 1990).
- Bloodstock Open Air (UK). LOVEBITES performed on the festival's main stage(Ronnie James Dio Stage). JUDAS PRIEST and KAMELOT also performed on this stage in 2018.
I may be wrong, but LOVEBITES is the only Japanese band to be honored to perform at these festivals TWO years after their formation.
At the end of 2018, LOVEBITES completed their first solo European Tour, thanks to an agreement between the band's management and the leading European live music agency 'X-ray Touring', which collaborates with more than 400 bands and artists. LOVEBITES played concerts in the Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK. During the Tour, interviews were organized for European music media (including TV channels). Some of these interviews can be found on YT.
And this is TWO years after the formation of LOVEBITES and ONE year after the release of their first EP! How many bands (not only Japanese) are there that have achieved such results in two years after their creation (starting from scratch)? And if you take into account the fact that LOVEBITES is a Japanese band ? Given that 99% of metal fans in the west are not interested in Japanese metal.
In 2019 LOVEBITES performed with ARCH ENEMY in China (2 concerts) . During the summer 2019 they performed at major rock festivals in the UK (Download Festival), Spain (Download Festival) and Belgium (Graspop Metal Meeting). The performance of LOVEBITES at the Download Festival in Donington (UK) was named by the organizers of the festival and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! At the end of 2019, a joint LOVEBITES Tour (special guest) with DRAGONFORCE took place (11 concerts in the UK) and a performance of LOVEBITES as an opening act for HALESTORM (concert in Tokyo).
* In addition to this, Asami (Asami - lead vocals) also appeared on stage to sing with HALESTORM at Download Festival (Japan, March 2019) and Download Festival (UK, June 2019)
In January 2020, LOVEBITES performed in Singapore.
The Covid-19 pandemic (2020-2022) ruined all plans for LOVEBITES. At that time, the band was rapidly gaining momentum. But due to the pandemic, LOVEBITES was forced to limit her activities. In 2021, the leader of the band, Miho (bass), leaves the band and Miyako (brunette, guitar) gives birth to a baby. Asami (lead vocals) gives birth to a baby in the summer of 2022.
I hope that you will find this information interesting. I also wrote this comment for those fans who have bad things to say about the management of LOVEBITES. If the management's work was really bad (as they claim), then everything that I listed would not have happened. There are few Japanese metal bands (great bands) that could gain international recognition in such a short period of time.
I'll add a little more about the "bad" management and team of LOVEBITES. To sell Albums outside Japan in (Europe, America, etc.), additional contracts were concluded with several companies. Including a contract with one of the largest companies Nuclear Blast Records (Germany). Which helps promote LOVEBITES (Albums) outside of Japan. I advise skeptics to look at what musicians and bands Nuclear Blast have collaborated with and are currently collaborating with. At the same time, you can go to the company's website and buy Albums of LOVEBITES (as of May 26, 2024):

In case you missed it the dark hair guitarist miyako is about 4 or 5 months pregnant.
do NOT let their looks fool you. this is the best metal band on the planet and has been for 7 years. every song is gold - either great or epic. the 2 guitarists midori - blonde - and miyako - dark hair - play like they have one musical mind. best duo to come along in many years. and don't even get me started on drummer haruna. she is 4 ft. 9 in. of pure power. her nick name is the little big engine. you have much to see and hear with LOVEBITES and you will love all of it.
How have I not heard of this band?......the very question the Wolfpack (fan base) asks all the time. Insanely talented petite musicians who wear their femininity proudly in heels and gowns but turn into metal goddesses on stage. Best new band to come a long in quite a while. Very diverse, Speed, Power, Thrash, Prog, Hard Rock, Acoustic, Piano, classical influences and even ballet dance steps. They may look like little Disney princesses but they play, especially LIVE, like no other band out there today. No filler songs, they are either epic or masterpieces or both.

It's seems strange commenting on a reaction that was done a year ago ... but I'll say that if you ever decide to get back into reactions, then you should definitely check out some more from LOVEBITES. They are elite musicians, and in terms of musicianship, they are probably one of the top three metal bands on the planet.

ello friend, greetings from a veteran Spanish metalhead, totally surrendered to the talent of these women, who are revitalizing an aging and repetitive genre.
They are a breath of positivity and joy, combined with beauty and elegance. Asami is the best vocalist I've seen in a long time, plus she's gorgeous.
There are several all-female metal bands all over the world, but in Japan, where Lovebites are from, the all-female hard rock and metal scene is just on another level! The female metal scene is bursting at the seams over there. I can count on one hand the number of really elite western female metal bands, but it would take pages to list all the elite level Japanese female metal bands! Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, Aldious, Fate Gear, Bridear, and Babymetal are a good start.

Congratulations, you just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD:

when it comes to metal and rock coming out of Japan, these ladies for metal, always clean vocals (no growls or screaming), and Band-Maid for hard Rock, IMO the top 2 bands in Japan

There's a lot of all female Japanese metal bands. Nemophila, Bridear, BandMaid, Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, Aldious, etc. There's also a lot of female-led Japanese metal bands like Asterism, Unlucky Morpheus, and Baby Metal.

Immensely talented musicians. The 2 guitarists (Midori & Miyako) are among the best duos I've heard/seen in 5 decades of listening to metal. Dive deeper, they just get more impressive.
Even white costumes can be dyed in many colors with colored lighting.
LOVEBITES' songs incorporate various metal genres, and the lyrics and songs have many different aspects, so the white costume makes sense.
The main principles of the band presented by Miho, the founder and first bassist of LOVEBITES, are as follows.
①Heavy metal (basic policy)
②All English lyrics (strategy for global expansion)
③White costumes (Most metal bands wear black costumes, and if these short girls wore black costumes, they would be hidden, so they wear white costumes to contrast and stand out.)
④High heels (to compensate for short height)
Miho also thought about the visual effects on stage.
Asami will modify stage lighting effects etc. on-site.
For white costumes, each person requests their preferences and ideas from the costume staff.
It's amazing just how many western industry producers never discovered Japan before. That's where rock and metal moved to in the 2000s.

On 17 August 2021, LOVEBITES took an extended break after the departure of their leader, bassist Miho.
The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from around the world and recruited a new bassist called Fami(Ba).

LoveBites is the only Japanese band signed to a western world label, which happens to be the same label that Nightwish, Sabaton, and Jinjer are signed to: Nuclear Blast Records, plus was one of the first bands to play at Wacken Open Air. Not only have they toured with and opened for Dragonforce, but Herman Li said himself that if they tour again, it will be Dragonforce OPENING for LoveBites. Now, I'll say that COVID did't help with their breaking through around the world, but they definitely are known, especially as they are heading out on their first world tour. Additionally, I can't remember when any Japanese guitarist was featured at NAMM.

Herman Lee is on a level even lower than Midori Yi Miyako, and their level is far from virtuoso. Touring with Dragonforce is more a cause for sadness than pride.
