Plenty of serious musicians move around, but I’d rather say that this song doesn’t require them to move around much. It would be out of place for the ladies to move like they do during “We the United” or “Raise Some Hell.”

Blues, jazz, Bluegrass, Latino music such as extreme rhythmical Son Cubano, or arias in Opera, real serious ones don't move much when they are doing serious part. LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal. All this makes their style unique.

This is one of my favorite songs by this band. However, I wouldn't have chosen it as the first reaction video for an opera singer's channel. This is a thrash metal song a la Metallica or Slayer. Asami's great voice is more expressive when she sings the great Lovebites power metal songs and power ballads.

Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in
2018 - Wacken - Open Air in Germany
2018 - Bloodstock Open Air in England
2019 - Graspop Metal Meeting Festival in Belgium
2019 - Download Festival in Spain.
In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
This year in June LOVEBITES‘ first world tour starts in Europe. In September they will play their biggest headline show ever in Tokyo. After that LOVEBITES will have their US debut …

She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3
All LOVEBITES songs have english lyrics. Asami‘s accent makes it hard to understand every word on a first listen, if you are not used to listening her singing. She also has improved her pronunciation since this performance that was 4 years ago.
Since you’re an opera singer, I would suggest these songs: „Edge of the world“, „Epilogue“ or „Liar“ for more focus on the vocals …

All songs, except for one early one, are in English, but some people, interestingly to me, usually Americans, do seem to struggle with Asami's Japanese accent at first. Whirled Peace will post the lyrics for you 😀
Recommendations for further listening if I may. Holy War, Thunder Vengeance, Winds of Transylvania (written for a crazy anime series, Vlad Love) Swan Song with Chopin introduction, Frozen Serenade, Edge of the World. Together these cover much of the bands range. Other members of the Wolfpack will have further recommendations and information I'm sure.
I have been listening to heavy rock/metal since it all kicked off in the 1960's, and I regard Lovebites as one of the best bands I have ever heard. Going to see them live in London in June 😃🐺
Glad you liked it. If you actually want them all moving around then "We The United' from 2023 is the one to watch (it was the show closer). But if you want something 'really special' with Asami (the singer) moving then go for 'Frozen Serenade'. And I see someone has recommended 'Swan Song' (as I assume you have a classical background go for the 2020 one with the Chopin intro).
That said, I'm sure you'll like anything they do.

Starting with Break the Wall is a great and uncommon choice. I recommend Judgement Day next. That song showcases the singer better and is just really good in general. Also speaking of dancing, singer Asami is actually a skilled dancer and has been doing ballet also.
And there definitely are songs where they would headbang quite a lot. Also neither Nightwish nor Epica are American bands.

Edge of the World is also a good pick for vocals. I don’t know why anyone would recommend Break the Wall to a channel like this one. I don’t even recommend it as a first pick for any channel. I think the fans who think every song is perfect, aren’t able to judge the songs properly, and so they don’t understand why people would object to a certain song as a first recommendation. Although I feel starting with Holy War is way overdone, and I feel the song is overrated, I can certainly better understand a pick like that.

In the top three metal bands is probably more reasonable.
You've started off with one of my favourite LOVEBITES songs, but this is a straight up thrash song which can be a bit much for someone not used to listening to metal.
It's great that reaction channels like yours are helping to spread the word about this amazing band. It's almost criminal that a band with this much musical talent isn't better known. LOVEBITES are comfortably in the top three metal bands on the planet in terms of pure musicianship.
I'd suggest either Holy War or Swan Song with Chopin Intro which displays Miyako On Piano

Starting with one of their heaviest songs hmm. I would recommend something like Empty Daydream live from 2019 that is a bit slower and more of a 'vocal' song.

hell yes. my fave band
Lovebites are quite diverse in their style. This is one of their most thrash metal style songs. However they also have a very strong powermetal side (fast but more melodic). For this, check out for instance "Holy War" or "Swan Song (with Chopin intro)". The later shows that Miyako, the dark haired guitar player is not just great at guitar, but she is also a top tier piano player. Finlly, there are also a number of power ballads (or close to ballads). One of may favourite "softer" songs is "Edge of the World", which while starting as a ballad, it builds up through the whole song up the an epic climax.
Lovebites are flawless in the live performances. Some people critcise them for being too perfect live, but honestly, can you really blame someone for being too good?
Glad you found and like Lovebites, with a few more listens I will be surprised if they are not very high on your list of new favorite bands!! Floor Jansen is indeed incredible, but Asami is a very good singer in her own right who has worked very hard on her craft! I think you will gain more appreciation for her in some of their more ballad-y songs like Edge Of The World. Miyako is also a concert level classical pianist. Miho (former bassist and founder of the band) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Next suggestion: “Edge of the world” or “Chopin etude + Swan song” (live)

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".

On 17 August 2021, LOVEBITES took an extended break after the departure of their leader, bassist Miho.
The remaining girls organised an audition for a new bassist from around the world and recruited a new bassist called Fami(Ba).
Fami is a five-string bassist who can dance, sing and play and has 696,000 CZcams subscribers.

The main principles of the band presented by Miho, the founder and first bassist of LOVEBITES, are as follows.
①Heavy metal (basic policy)
②All English lyrics (strategy for global expansion)
③White costumes (Most metal bands wear black costumes, and if these short girls wore black costumes, they would be hidden, so they wear white costumes to contrast and stand out.)
④High heels (to compensate for short height)
Miho also thought about the visual effects on stage.
Asami will modify stage lighting effects etc. on-site.
For white costumes, each person requests their preferences and ideas from the costume staff.
This is actually one of their more chant like songs. Asami isn't really singing in full voice, so to speak. Just about any of their other songs will really showcase the power and range of her voice. From a vocalist standpoint, try the title track to their newest album, Judgement Day. It was their first song after COVID, and replacing their bass player, a few years in the making. Every member of the band flexed their talents to the max, including the vocalist, Asami. Wolfpack forever!

Congratulations, you just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. This is one of their thrashier songs. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD:

Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. Best guitar duo in the world M&M Midori (Blonde) and Miyako (Brunette)
Floor is on a whole level by herself, but at 6' 1" her stature makes a commanding presence on stage the moment she enters it. Asami/,vocalist is 4' 10" (imagine a duet with Floor and Asami), yet she is a real stage Napoleon general who controls the stage, the crowd and the band. The talent in this band is insane at every position and they will surprise you but never disappoint especially LIVE.
good reaction, but I think this song doesn't really bring out Asami's "operatic vocal" side. In My Opinion, Lovebites - Holy War or Frozen Serenade are more suitable to show Asami's vocal abilities.

There’s a previous live release called “Daughters of the Dawn” where they play this and the bends during the chorus get away from the brunette guitarist, Miyako, and are noticeably sour. This version is performed perfectly. Great band, though the fanbase can be more than a little hyperbolic.

Aloha Jules, I’m so glad you found LOVEBITES, they’re a ridiculously good band. Even though they sing in English, their pronunciations can be really hard to understand. A lot of people just loves to hear Asami’s voice without caring about the lyrics. I understand getting a video with lyrics can be distracting from the music, but the lyrics to their songs are really good too. Maybe try one of their songs with lyrics or close caption.

Lovebites imo doesn't have one bad song in their extensive catalogue, but with your musical background there are a few specific songs I would recommend where you could truly appreciate how talented they are as elite musicians. Maybe for your next reaction choose "Swan Song" SPECIFICALLY THE VERSION WITH THE CHOPIN INTRO. That song showcases guitarist Miyako's talent on the piano (she was classically trained sinced age 3), again be sure to choose the version that has the CHOPIN INTRO in the title, then for a vocal showcase I'd recommend "Empty Daydream" where you can really get a feel for lead singer Asami's range as well beautiful harmonies, from Miyako and former bassist Miho, which is even more impressive when you consider English isnt their native language. I would honestly be interested in your take on "Empty Daydream" because I've always described it as being almost operatic in the way the music, not just the vocals, also tells a story, but that's just my layman interpretation. In any case, you can't go wrong with either one of those 2 songs, or really any Lovebites track, as your next choice to react to.

I really like your reaction. A very open reaction. I am not sure if you listen to metal or not. Anyways, those girls are fantastic. And they have just (half a year ago maybe) restarted their career after a year of hiatus after their bassist left, covid happened and two of them got kids. They do have so many good songs. They both have music videos and live performances. Generally the live performances are recommended. They (almost) all have splendid sound quality and the girls are so professional that they play flawless live. Sometimes you need to listen to the correct version of their live performances, but generally just pick something from their official web site. There are three, very good songs, where I can from the top of my head say that you need to listen to the correct version.
* Swan song has to be the older one from 2021 with Chopin intro. The new one has a strange mix and lacks the Chopin intro.
* Holy War also needs to be the older one from 2020 in zepp diver city, Tokyo. Its epic. The new one has a very bad mix. Moreover, the old one is perfect!
* The Hammer of Wrath, there I think the latest one from 2023 is one of the best performances they have made. The old one is also good.
The ladies are
* Asami - the singer. Really a RnB singer and a ballet dancer. That just happened to fit 100% in Lovebites. Weird, but such things happen.
* Haruna - the drummer, and one of the two founders. Scary fast and precise on drums and plays on a huge drum kit. Also known for never tire. Rumored to be nuclear powered.
* Miyako - the dark haired guitarist, often to the right. The main composer. Also virtuoso on piano. Out of this world on guitar.
* Midori - the bright hair guitarist. Also compete in body building. Out of this world on guitar.
* Fami - current bassist. New to the band and very young, now 21 I think. A bass prodigy that has her own channel that actually is more popular than Lovebites. Learning metal by working. And it goes just fine! Biggest smile in the metal scene.
* Miho - the former bassist, also one of the two founders. Solid metal and rock bass.
All the ladies can play piano. Miyako plays more instruments. All ladies (but seldom Haruna) do backing vocals.
They are also very small. In the original setup only one was taller than 5 feet (1.5 m). And that was Miyako with 5'2 (1.57 m). Now Fami is the same height. Haruna is 4'9 (1.45 m), Asami and Midori are 4'10 (1.47 m) and 4'11 (1.49 m), never remember in what order.
So, that powerhouse of a singer is very small. The name of the group is taken from the Halestorm song "Love Bites" and I have seen Lzzy and Asami on the same stage. Lzzy is tall. Both have powerful vocals. Looked fun when they sang "Love Bites" together with more than a head difference in height.
Hooray MC & LOVEBITES!! This is perhaps one of the least vocally expressive songs in the LOVEBITES catalog. All the best Metal and Rock of the 21st century is being created in Japan by female artists of a very high calibre. Lovebites are the best Metal band I've seen in decades (my first Metal gig was Sabbath in 1976) and, unlike all the guys I ever watched, brilliant as they were, they don't ever gurn or make pained faces to show how difficult the piece is but smile and laugh. Please try THE best Rock band on Earth, Band-Maid, too - a female 5 piece from Japan who are ridiculously skilled at their craft. Fun fact, only two women on that stage are over five foot tall.
Right off the bad, you initial song choice dispels the theory that Lovebites are just Power Metal. They may have a base of Power Metal, but this shows that can thrash with the best of them. They incorporate speed metal, heavy metal, and influences from the late 70's to early 90's and bring it all together creating Lovebites metal. Original? No. Totally reimagining and modernizing metal from the late 70's to early 90's - 100%.

I love this song, but not my first choice for an opera singer to hear. It doesn't demonstrate Asami's range well. Maybe Swan song (with the Chopin intro) or Holy War. Asami is a classically trained singer and has great range. In this song she has a pretty limited range. BTW, 20 year Marine, and the lyrics to Swan Song hit me hard when I first heard them.
This is one of their less vocally oriented songs; it spotlights the guitars and not the vocals. I don't know why it was recommended to an opera singer. There are a lot of other songs by Lovebites where the singer gets to show off a lot more.
If you want to see a really spectacular singer i suggest Ado. "Odo", "Crime and Punishment" and "Show" display her wide range and skill.

I think you need to watch a few more live vids from Lovebites. They headbang and are Ultra High Energy. Midori literally Flies all over the Stage and in 5 inch Stiletto's. The drummer Haruna literally uses all her Dexterities and at around 170 bpm average which is Insanely Athletic as well. Try Set the World on Fire, MDO or Hammer of Wrath from Lovebites next. You many find These Women are Top,Top Tier in both Music Theory and Musical Performance.
