As you've just seen, LOVEBITES consists of elite musicians. In terms of pure musicianship, they are probably in the top 3 metal bands on the planet (along with Symphony-X and Dream Theater). You are right that there are Iron Maiden influences, but as you go through their catalogue, you'll also hear influences of Judas Priest, Megadeth, Helloween, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Motörhead etc. For anyone who is a fan of 80s and 90s metal, LOVEBITES are a gift from heaven.
As good as their music videos are, this is one band where you must see their LIVE performances. My recommendation is the live performance of "Break the Wall". It is one of the best thrash songs ever written, in my opinion. The two different guitar solos are nothing like you would have ever seen before in a thrash song. After 4 years I don't know what else to say about these fantastic women from Lovebites. But now they are finally coming back to Europe and in September also to the USA. Check them out live guys!

Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in
2018 - Wacken - Open Air in Germany
2018 - Bloodstock Open Air in England
2019 - Graspop Metal Meeting Festival in Belgium
2019 - Download Festival in Spain.
2019 - Download Festival in UK.
In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

❤️LOVEBITES❤️ was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 11 June 2018, LOVEBITES won '🏆BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.
"Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated.
On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry.
LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018.
Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's 'Love Bites', which gave the band their name.
LOVEBITES performed as a support band for "Arch Enemy's China tour at the Shanghai show on March 23 and the Beijing show on March 24, 2019".
LOVEBITES participated in "dowload Festival 2019(June 15)".
And Asami of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm Download Festival UK 2019, singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's "Love Bites" again after Japan.

On 2 December 2019, LOVEBITES was the support act for the Tokyo leg of Halestorm's Japan tour.

If you watch their live videos watch out for their trading and handing off between guitar solos, often followed by harmonies dual lead lines. While the drum and bass keep the riff moving on.
The Japanese metal/rock scene as a whole is incredible. Lovebites is phenomenal. IMO the best metal band to come along in decades. Elite level nusicians. Their 2 guitarists (Midori & Miyako) are among the best duos I've heard since the 80's/90's. Dive deeper, they just get more impressive. Wait till you see them live.

LOVEBITES is a five-member all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal. All this makes their style unique.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album came out in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.
LOVEBITES are touring Europe and the US this year.

She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer

She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3

Tubsy is quite on the mark with his genre assessment. They play, shall we say, a modernized version of a mixture of 80s styles, on their first two albums with a huge influence from Iron Maiden, but also a bit from thrash, soul-influenced hard rock and German power metal. On their third and fourth album (this is from their fourth album, their most recent one), they have become faster and more power metal-oriented, but keep a thrashy side in their heavier tracks; this one here was not especially heavy as modern Lovebites go, they have become heavier as well. Unfortunately for their newest heavier tracks there aren't any good quality videos yet. Great reaction to the best band ever. Fusion is the best description. They say that they play heavy metal…no genre. Now prepare to lose your lower jaw when you realise that there is no discernible difference between their live performance of this (or any) song and the studio recording. Seriously. Album filler are two words that are not in LOVEBITES vocabulary. The capital letters are deliberate, the band members always refer to the band in caps. I’m in my mid 60’s and this band beats all others on every level, not just musically. They enjoy what they do and their live performances are unmatched.
They are more exciting live. Try: SET THE WORLD ON FIRE, THE HAMMER OF WRATH, SHADOW MAKER, RAISE SOME HELL, and THUNDER VENGEANCE.
LOVEBITES declared early on their ambitions to make music like IRON MAIDEN, but in those songs you will also hear the influences of SLAYER, TESTAMENT, and METALLICA.

Welcome to Lovebites! Best metal band in the world right now, imho. My favorite band of all time. They bring back classic metal from the 80s and 90s and make it modern. MIyako, the dark haired guitarist, is also a virtuoso concert level classical pianist, having started to learn the instrument at 3 years old and graduating from university 16 years later. She also plays the bass and drums and writes a lot of the groups music.
My friend if you put banger shades on whenever you hear a great guitar solo then you'll be wearing them on EVERY FREAKING SONG by Lovebites! You'll see. Midori and Miyako are among the greatest metal guitar duos of all time, yet few people know about them. And not just the guitars, but Lovebites has elite level talent on the bass (Fami), drums (Haruna), and vocals (Asami). Next song by them should be a live one. Congratulations, you just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. If they are not your thing, then you probably simply don’t like melodic metal, because they are the best at it.
They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD:

Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. The first thing about Lovebites is that their Live shows are really good (the fans prefer them to the studio versions). They were performing in I think a fashion/model runway area. Japan has some highly skilled female musicians other bands to check out are: Nemophila "Rise" or Asterism "Dawn" or Bridear "Still burning."
