We recently bought a 2007 BMW Z4 3.0SI Coupe. BMW only produces roughly 4000 z4 coupes between 2007-2008. We scooped this car up in Indianapolis, IN for 7500. In this video, I will walk through diagnosis process and attempt to fix all the issues.

Reason why lots of people say they need ongoing maintenance is they usually only address what's wrong instead of just spending a little more on say when water pump goes out change ALL associated components that are plastic
Same with valve cover pvc change ALL attaching hoses under intake and evap together
Oh and the ZF transmission is bulletproof if you change valve body plastic solenoids and the square plastic seal between it and upper case

Next time you might pull the radiator fan out. Once you remove the plastic cover there are only 2 screws and one plug on the fan. Gives you alot more space for those solenoids

Great video. I bought one of these and about a year into ownership. It’s a weekend car that I love to drive and my appreciation for it grows each time I drive it. Please keep us up to date with the progress.

I would start with replacing the vanos solenoids , valve cover and attaching hoses
Then clear codes the 02 sensors could be doing their job sensing the mixture off from PVC and vanos problems
After that change whole water pump system
Rock Auto had the hoses with the billet aluminum housing ends instead of the cheap plastic also change thermostat and overflow tank with sensors that way system is 100% ready for 100k
I have same car in grey.... fantastic fum cat to drive...I've had mustangs vettes and get to drive lots of cars that come into my shop and I wouldn't sell it for anything I love this car WAY more that all the others I've had
Rides like a true sports car ROUGH
Oh and don't use cup holders lol

Thanks for video. I have a 2005 Z4 with 136K, so there is a lot of ongoing maintenance. I'm taking for a track weekend soon and hoping for no breakdowns.

@@Rurik_JustCruzn Will you be making more Z4 videos? I am looking to buy a 3.0si convertible and would like to see what other issues you have come across or things to look out for in general. Thanks!

@@Rurik_JustCruzn Are you going to do a video update on this car? Been looking at picking one up myself since they are still an affordable option. Thanks!

Very good video. I picked up a 08 3.0si E85 a few months ago. I noticed you didn't check the Disa valves... those should be pulled and checked to see if they have been replaced with the upgrade ones. I assume they have with the mileage but you never know.
