Saw a mom, dad and 2 kids all riding unicycles appear out of nowhere through my work parking lot one day. Just on a casual family ride.

I have two cousins who for Christmas one year one got a pogo stick and the other got a unicycle. The pogo stick cousin could jump like 12 feet up on that thing and his sister broke her arm learning to ride the unicycle, but eventually got really good. Her arm is still crooked because they set it wrong, but who cares? She’s an expert unicycle rider.

I remember my sister got one of those for Christmas. Very cool.
Oops. Sister took two jumps and fell flat on her face and broke her nose. Dad threw that pogo stick away immediately. What a bummer.

I got a pogo stick for Christmas too, it took me about two weeks to finally be able to bounce on it without the problem of only being able to bounce a few times then jump off.
I decided to search for toys of my childhood after watching this. Did you know a “green machine” is $4600.00 on eBay. Don’t let your kids play on their toys, they will be valuable one day.

I once jumped on a pogo stick nonstop for over an hour, possibly 2. It was so easy. I was in my early teens. It was like a professional pogo stick - heavy duty.
A unicycle reminds me of Irish clogging. The hands do nothing and the all the movement is below the waist.
As a child, we had stilts, pogo sticks, skateboards and dirt bikes when we got a little older. We were always outside and didn’t even want to come in for dinner at first call. Kids need to burn off energy and not have to look for something to do.
My Mom called 6 kids to supper w/ a siren! We had stilts, pogo sticks, mini bikes, pool, treetop forts, rope swings over devil’s clubs, horses, boats, campfires, camping & survival equipment, modified bikes, a laser (made home Lasarium & holograms), dark room, t-shirt screen press, fire crackers like cherry bombs & m80’s, etc. We had a blast but we were a scientific & mechanical type family with scientific common sense. Some almost terrible injuries but nothing permanent.

The only other dumb 50's/60's play thing endeavors..stilts. When's the last time you saw a kid on a Pogo stick, Unicycle, Stilts, playing Titiley winks, Chutes and ladders, Parchicee, E-gawds..Robert at 69.
70's kid here..Inchworm, Big Wheel, Pogo for about 5 minutes, Roller skating on the street, Silly Putty, mood rings, Pet Rock, Old Maid, Go Fish, Red Rover, neighborhood Kick The Can while barefoot at 9pm on summer nights. Halter tops, pop rocks, Ni-ah-laters😊

I’m sorry, but that jump attempt was more hilarious than the joke itself. The power lacking in those legs to get even a off the ground. Pushing off the ground to get up seem as though the air had deflated when you tried going up. Sure the legs stretched upward, but the feet had no energy to give the lift needed to escape the floor. But maybe that’s a good thing. You’re tall, not athletic, not physically fit, and landing a jump is the most dangerous thing anyone can do. Say, have you, with all of your offspring, played Gulliver’s Travels where they tied him down?
