- Ricky Gervais has found concrete proof that the theory of evolution by Darwin is incorrect. What's more, he found it in a dusty old book at home called the bible.

Ricky’s best statement was ‘destroy religious books and in a 1000 years they will come back different, destroy science books and in a 1000 years they will come back the same’ profound but yet so simple.
But he's wrong. So it's not profound.
@@lawrence1318 could you explain
@@lawrence1318 I think you're getting the "science is always revising its ideas" part wrong. Yes, science has the capacity to change its ideas and create new hypotheses in order to provide the most accurate explanation to something. However, a lot of (hard) science such as the theory of evolution is a lot more refined and unchanging. Its ideas on natural selection and adaptation aren't really changing since they have been studied so much.
Aside from the false notion that science is always having a dramatic shift in its ideas every so often, I assume that you're agreeing with Gervais in that these religious writings would be lost forever if they were to be burned, since they do not mirror the exact word or meaning of God. The Bible can be used as a tool to say anything a person wants, as long as it's what they think God might want them to say without actually having proof of it. You say it echos truth but how can you trust fallible man?
I have two question: Is it not more likely that our negative emotions and the human conscience is the result of nature's work, evolution, and our brain, rather than the work of a god that's in conflict with not only the world's sea of religions but also with itself (its different sects, religious scripts, and interpretations?). How can any religion be trusted if everyone is so confidently devoted to their own religion while they think that everyone else is living a lie? My confidence in the nonexistence of man-made gods stems directly from people's arrogant, faithful belief in their own god and rejection of others. It is simply the Barnum effect and the natural human need for belonging and explanation for the unknown.
@@lawrence1318 Okay, my mistake.
If you were born in a country with Islam as the dominant religion, would you realize Christianity was the true religion and if so, how? How would you know what was true or false without the right scriptures and how would you know if God wanted you to pursue Christianity or Islam?
@@lawrence1318 science revises itself _constrained by evidence_, so you see, roughly speaking, it's like a funnel, stricter and stricter, you have to explain at least as many facts that were explained by the preceding hypotheses, typically more.
Religion (which is not about "having a conscience", you don't need religion for that) is about specific believes , most of the times involving details about conscious creatures creating the universe. Now, since there are thousands religions already (that we know of), and pretty much incompatible with each other, you would expect that in 1000 year other thousands would be created , wouldn't you? It's more like throwing dice
I went into a bible book store with a religious friend once. When I saw the high prices of the bibles I said “man these are so expensive! It was published so long ago I’d think it’d be on the clearance rack by now!” She had a good sense of humor about it.

I no longer believe in anything but ME and those that I surround myself with. I stopped feeling "rejected" by that god when I left religion, all those prayers that were NEVER answered, it truly messed with my head growing up. I now just live my life, whatever happens, I deal with it. No more endless days and hours of praying only to never be answered. It caused too much emotional and mental pain. I learned from my 32 year old son, you just live your life and when bad things happen, you just deal with it and that's that. When good things happen, enjoy it, that's just life. It's a much more peaceful way of living life. Live in the moment and deal with whatever comes up yourself or with the help of other REAL people.

Shouldn’t other explosions create previously non-existent elements and galaxies?

He should do the whole bible. Gets really good at the end.
GOD bless your soul
Whether is good or not depends on the choices you've made.
You mean The Book of Revelation?
Only so much one can set aside for fiction 😂 even if it’d be hilarious
Ricky is hilarious and makes so much sense. He's a comic genius. 😊
I need a surgery I think, my diaphragm gave up. 🤣🤣🤣
Love Ricky!!! Keep on keepin' on mate!!!
I like Ricky too and he also looks somewhat like actor, Ray Milland.
@Amanda , what's to love about him ? He's dragging you through the sewer. Don't you smell it on your skin ?
@@henkackermann9986 : The "sewer" comes from the bible, Henk. Thomas Paine said: "Whenever we read the obscene stories, the debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness with which more than half of the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we call it the word of wickedness than the word of a loving god. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind."
@@anonymousjohnson976 , do want to talk about Hitler , Stalin , PolPot , Mao Se Dong , the British empire's and muslim governments torture's , murder and starvation of nations and their own people ?
@@henkackermann9986 : Somehow I knew you would bring those people up. Yes, they were atheist and murdered people, because they wanted power. Now, let's discuss the christian wars, Henk.
1. The massacre in Rwanda, 800,000 dead in 100 days, mostly christians killing christians.
2. Two World Wars started by theists (Germany, Czarist Russia, Japan, Italy (90 million dead in 10 years).
3. Ten million killed in the 30-year-war (more christians killing christians).
4. The Lushon rebellion during the Tang Dynasty, 30 million deaths (not atheists).
5, The 100-year war, 3 million dead (yep, Jesus followers).
6. The wars in the Democratic Republic of Congo, 5 million dead in 6 years (again, christians).
7. 40 million dead in the Three Kingdom War in China (not atheists). 6 million dead in the Napoleonic wars (again, christians).
Do we really want to count numbers to see who murdered the most people, Henk? Both sides are guilty.
Sheer genius, the construct, the expressions, delivery. Brilliantly superb!
He bumbles around just staring at the crowd.
The guy is just not funny. Neither is religion. They go well together.
If I ask an atheist if he is a Buddhist he would reply: "Of course not", which makes perfect sense when you know that in Sanskrit the word Buddha means wisdom.
@@jeffforsythe9514
It’s sad that you thought that lame sneering was clever. It was especially tragic and stupid considering that there are atheist Buddhists.
@@jeffforsythe9514 how about posting something original?
he needs to do a 12 hour stand up tearing the bible in it's silly entirety to shreads - i for one would pay and go
Maybe pay for some anger management therapy first. It might help.
Isn't that what he is doing?😅

Love his below the belt fashion... just adds to the mad comical genius of Ricky Gurvais?
When comedy actually brings debates about creation lol fucking gold bruv!!!
He's the real deal. Few people can make anything funny. Ricky can. If did those bits, you family would have you locked up.......he's brilliant.
When in a book store or library I put The Bible in the fiction section where it belongs.
Thank you random citizen!
I love this man 😄✨

Great comedy my friend.
Absolutely brilliant 😂
Gotta love Ricky 😂
Sooo clever. It has to be his voice. If anyone else said what he does it probably wouldn’t be funny. Love you Ricky. 🥰
That's practically what I said. I love an English accent!
@@gailismyname4430 Did I say that they all speak cockney? No. I didn't. I know there are many different accents. I happen to be educated, so you can drop the haughty attitude for Americans and others. I'd think you'd be proud that people admire the way the English talk. Americans have many different ones too. Do you care? I didn't think so.
I like the posh English accent, but the roadmen accent is much harder to understand

Natural selection is not perfectly accurate. Anything that influences the selection process or keeps a organism from production is going to have a impact on the species Gene pool and its changes that can add up including death by the climate, predators , wars, religion , beliefs, behaviors, science , crime or being to undesirable as a mate and limited understand of such a ideal of selective breeding has existed in Europe during and before the rise of Christianity, The big jump being with enough changes you have a new species. The ideal with enough changes in a species you can turn a dog into a man would of been considered insane.
Every generation produces a one off and Ricky is this generations. He’s just naturally funny, a gift that many would love to attain. The ease with which his delivery is attained is quite incredible. The fact he doesn’t need scripted material most of the time lends to his genius. Keep on keeping on my man😂👏👏👍❤️
Comedy is a funny thing, when being humourous you could risk angering people and they could delude themselves into thinking you're not funny, so yes he's a comic genius, he can make people laugh.
and Patrice O'Neal...
This is sooooo good! :)
Even though this is comedy it has to be the most convincing take down of the BS in the buy bull ever!

Some think the word "gospel" means truth, but it means "good news."
OK, What's your point? (I mean, both statements are true: 'The gospel is true, therefore, 'it's good news', yeah? And the 'good news' happens to be the "Gospel", therefore it's TRUE! So I say again, What is your point?
@@mosesreed2729 : I do not think that "truth" is the same as "good news." There are some "truths" that are not true and some "good news" that is not always true. There are many people who do not believe that the gospels are true, as well. How do you know that they are true?
It’s a joke, chill….
