Davide Swarup and Anna RF (Ofir J.Rock & Roy Smila) met in March 2013 in Goa.
Hello everybody.
I'm Edward from Masala Music & Spirit telling you the story of Arambolla Project.
Actually it didn't started as a project- these three talents met in a random chai shop in Arambol, Goa and decided to meet and experiment to combine the unique instruments they play- hang, kamancha, and guitar, in a friendly jam session.
Soon enough they started to perform together in pubs and beach shacks around Arambol, attracting people from all around the world with the unique sound they have created.
When we came across them, the idea came up to go to the jungle and shoot a video for this trio, and so we did.
We went to the jungle together with their instruments, recording equipment and a bunch of friends, to shoot and record.
The shooting turned into an amazing video and the recording inspired to create their first album "Dreamland", all recorded live in the jungle.
Special thanks to Cristina the dancer and to all of the beautiful friends that took part in the production.

I think most people commenting on here about the dancer are forgetting that it's the music which should be the focus of this video... Dancing is a matter of individual preference and if the moves she makes are a reflection of how the music makes her feel then so be it...! It doesn't really matter if you like it or not, close your eyes and enjoy what you came here for!
As for the music... it is beautiful! People thrive from picking out negativity as it makes them feel better about their lack of talent/ability.

I was very fortunate to come across arambolla on youtube merely moments ago and they have blown my mind far far away. if you are feeling lost this music will ground you yet at the same time take your mind else where without losing yourself completely. so refreshing and so deeply heartfelt. i feel i was meant to find this music today because my spirit and mind had been lost for nearly two years. I've recently closed the door on my certain demons. I had lost myself, my spirit, and feared of no way back. This beautiful God sent music has reminded me of who I am and not what the system wants us to be. (mindless,heartless and empty). We have hearts. We have souls and are spiritual beings. the system tries to break our spiritual side down. this music helps replenish the soul in so many ways. the Kamancha is a wonderful Persian stringed instrument with that deep haunting sound somewhere between a erhu and violin. The guy playing here clearly has a soulful command of the instrument,perfect over the Hang drums.
Great to see Goa is still attracting the coolest -Freaks in the world!!

And I have to tell you that we just went to the jungle to make a video for you tube and we did not expected that such production would have been manifested.
We played before this shooting 4 times only on stage. I was guest of Anna RF. Find more in youtube ;)
And we started to improvise and well: magic happened!
Full album came out and so we edited the video. The "boys" went back to film the jungle and here we are.
It was the 6th of April and well after two weeks album and video ready.

Interesting that text in the video describes the guitar as being "preceded by the lute" (meaning "evolved from" I presume). But the hang is not described as being "preceded by" the steel drum...
