This is probably the 1st handpan clip I saw; didn't know what it was for years until a few years back when I found the instrument again. How time flies!
It's been a year or so for me but it's still my favorite also. I share it to introduce people to the hang drum/hand pan. The sounds & music from this instrument always seems to soothe my soul. I look forward to trying one out one day. Hopefully I will know at that point if I would like to buy my own & learn how to play.
This composition is also used in the song 'hang ten' - (the ocean) by Mindseye. I recommend it but prefer the Yuki version.

You have to keep in mind that it is not a very common instrument, you will not find it in many physical store. Few people in the world know how to make them, and being an uncommon instrument, it can be a bit expensive.
And of course, you must first make sure that the person from whom you buy has built something of quality.
So, do your research and make sure they're giving you something good.

Weird fun fact about it. While you would probably think it's some old tribal instrument, it's actually a modern one invented in the year 2000. They are very pricey, but very cool instruments.

Someone has a handpan or similar instrument out here in the neighborhood and we love it when they play outside during quarantine. We don't know who it is but I know it is not just my family but others out there also tuning in and we all even asked for an encore, we got it!

norakat lol the hang drum was made by the Swizz and was modeled after the Indian tabla, that's why it's used by a lot of Indian classical musician's. This instrument has nothing to do with Africa or the carribean.
