He's so skilled and talented that in between beats he needs to keep his mind occupied with additional challenges, hence the drumstick tricks. Absolutely mind-boggling.
Multitasking doesn´t work, you can just get something in your brain so that it works automaticly (like walking), so if someone is walking AND talking, he isn´t multitasking. And if you thin that he is multitasking, he isn´t, he has just trained very much (so that it works automaticly, I think you get my point). Nehertheless his drumming skills are mindblowing. As a former drummer I can attest to this exactly right. This dude just killed it with a set of buckets. AMAZING. I would love to hear him playing a full 10-12 drum set live, he would be awesome.
This guy played the quads or the quints in high school & college marching band. Anyone who has been in a good marching band can see that is where he learned how to do this. Excellent performance!
I talked to one of these street drummers a while back, offering him a new bucket to drum on... and all he cared about was the amount of ridges it had near the top and the shape of them.
This comment made me laugh because when I was in NOLA one time I saw a street performer doing this and when I got home I tryed learning how to play drum buckets

December 2021: showed up on my recommended list again; saw it about 5 or 6 years ago. Incredible talent and willingness to practice (a lot). Sure hope this young man is no longer busking and has a more formal job that pays him what his talents are worth. All the best to him.

Some of them already go to University at an age when others go to middle school and are already child prodigies at an early age. A regular person will never become a genius, no matter how much effort they put in. They can be smart and educated, but not genius.
As a drummer myself, I can honestly say that this is exceptional. The stamina and coordination required for this is off the charts, as well as the ability to control your breathing. I'm an old man now, but even when I was his age there is no way I could have done what he did. I sure hope his ambitions include playing music, I'd hate to see all that talent wasted.
